  • EP 133 | Muhammad: Fact or Fiction? with Al Fadi | Redeeming Truth
In this fascinating and controversial episode of Redeeming Truth, host Jon Benzinger joins former Muslim Al Fadi to unpack the complex figure of Muhammad in Islam. They dive deep into Islamic sources about Muhammad's life, including obscure Hadith and Sira, analyzing his marriage to Aisha, his commands to kill opponents, and more.
Al Fadi candidly discusses aspects of Muhammad that Muslims don't like to talk about. They also debate whether Muhammad truly existed, examining arguments from critical scholars like Dr. Jay Smith and Robert Spencer. According to Al Fadi, Muhammad likely did exist but his story was greatly amplified over time for political reasons.
This is an eye-opening discussion about the deep connections between early Islamic history centered around Muhammad and trends we see today like jihadism and anti-semitism. Don't miss this brave conversation!

I am so thankful that more ministries are talking about Islam. I used to be a Muslim before coming to Christ about two and a half years ago, and I’ve tried to tell fellow Christians about Islam so that they better know how to reach Muslims. This conversation does a great job at bringing up some of the major inconsistencies in that faith; points that would be useful when trying to help Muslims understand why their faith is flawed and that they need the Gospel! God bless you guys! Love your channel and ministry! 🙏🏽👏🏽

Praising God for His grace that been lavished on us unconditionally. Deffinitley agreed on his ways and approach when dealing our bro. and sister that we should present first the gospel instead of approaching on theological side. The same approach that has been my sister are doing for me for 17 years as a Muslim and shes faithful on doing so. And by God grace I'm now believer of Christ now for 11 years . Lets be faithful in sharing the gospel. Lets starts by having a personal relationship with them and ask personal questions about them with love about on how we have assurance of salvation from Christ. Thers a lot of subject that can be discuss and praying that all of us will be the vessel of sharing the gospel to all the people around us.

Does anyone ever question how someone was able to collect 700,000 Hadith? It would take months just to count to 700,000, let alone to read 700,000 sayings and decide which ones were reliable and which were not. How long does it take to read the average Hadith? A minute? Now we're up to a lifetime of doing nothing but read Hadith just to get through all of them.

Religion is a faith which human creat to unite people to follow and obeyed and make it such a way that they will follow without question and deviation to the faith. Although religion is to make human united by its faith in the same religion yet they are divided and become enemy of each other although of the same faith and religion. This is human being nature as all living creature have this behaviour to each other and at loggerhead because of different behaviour not of the same mind thinking.

When you understand how Islam developed out of heretical misunderstandings of Catholic theology in the 6th century by illterate arab nomads and weaponised down through history by warlordism ideologies, Islam and Muslim culture can be logically contextualised in todays religious geopolitical environment.

Some punctuations would help, but. Islam has 34 versions of the Koran at least that have such stark differences that Shiite and Sunni go to war with each other when there is no war against Christianity or Judaism. There may be 5000 churches but I don’t think you are using the term denominations correctly. But these are minor doctrinal differences not core Christian beliefs. Like in some denominations we call the pastor, Brother. Some call a priest, Father or Pastor. Small differences in how services are held and such. Christians all believe in Christ.

I'm not a christian, but the Quran also says that the gospel is true. Sura 5:46
By the way - Mohammed died as the Quran intended for a false prophet:
      Sura 69:44-46
Had the Messenger made up something in Our Name,
We would have certainly seized him by his right hand,
      then SEVERED HIS AORTA,
      Sahih Bukhari 4428:
The Prophet in his ailment in which he died, used to say, "O `Aisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaibar, and at this time, I feel as if MY AORTA IS BEING CUT from that poison."
      Sahih Bukhari 5777:
(...) "Have you put the poison in this roasted sheep?" They replied, "Yes," He asked, "What made you do that?" They replied, "We intended to learn if you were a liar in which case we would be relieved from you, and if you were a prophet then it would not harm you."

You started with a conjecture, _"...you cannot understand Islam without understanding the prophet Muhammad..."_
The truth is you CAN understand Islam without understanding prophet Muhammad because EVRYTHING you need is in The Quran.
However you CANNOT understand Sunnism/Shiitism/Sectarianism without understanding what long-dead Arabs & Persians say about prophet Muhammad.
To qualify for the Christian version of heaven, a person MUST accept Jesus as The Christ.
To qualify for the Sunni/Shiite/Sectarian version of heaven is to *bear witness* that prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
So, the real question is, *"Did Jesus, The Christ and prophet Muhammad really exist?"*
The Christians and the Sunnis/Shiites/Sectarians have been debating on this topic for centuries and centuries to come. But they will never come to an agreement.
Until, of course... the Day when everything will be settled.
Although, the One True God has sent down, through the ages, Scriptures... but each group made it about themselves, i.e. the human element, instead of THE CONTENT OF THOSE SCRIPTURES!
    peace to the world.
