This seems like the next big evolution in music production, since getting ideas from your brain into the DAW is always the biggest hurdle. Can you imagine if classical composers had this technology? Those guys wrote entire symphonies in their heads

This is awesome. It opens up music production to way more people - like, if you're disabled & can't handle an instrument, or if you just don't have the time to master an instrument, you can get your musical ideas down. That rocks.

Please dont read into this comment as an advertisement of my channel. But I saw Andrew's first Dubler video many moons ago and I was truly impressed by how well he makes his content. I have been a fan for as long as I can remember. The other day I got an email from Vochlea asking if I wanted to review the new Dubler 2 and release my video when they released the product, and I had a mini panic attack / freak-out moment. All that went through my head is "I get to review a software ANDREW HUANG reviewed!!! And release it at the same time ANDREW WOULD RELEASE IT! I AM GETTING SOMEWHERE!!!" I have always looked up to this guy and his work and I wait very impatiently for his latest videos. Andrew please keep up the amazing job, I've watched you since long before you were even close to reaching 1M and here you are with such an amazing platform pushing forward this amazing passion. @@thebigbadbullytOh that's ok! Seriously, most of us wouldn't expect any sort of response at all! I know I don't have the time unfortunately to respond back to all my commenters, and my channel is a penny in comparison to Andrew's 2,000,000+ subs. It would be a full time job alone just to respond back to even a fraction of what he gets. The acknowledgement of my comment is worth a ton in itself. If I was in his shoes I would assume that it is probably someone trying to get more views onto their channel. Even if it was a staff member that responded back I still appreciate the acknowledgement, and all the amazing likes! WOW! I wasn't expecting that at all! Just happy to be a fan of Andrew's and I hope my comment gives him and his family a small extra smile. I've learned a lot from him just as many of us have.

I've been wanting to build myself a multi-band envelope follower - a sort of stripped-down vocoder - that could generate control voltages for each of several wide *tuneable* passbands, plus a follower for the entire voice passband. It would, in theory, allow a person to control different parameters of an instrument by what resonant bands they emphasize into a mic. The passbands would need to be tunable, to match it to the particular voice, as well as introduce different degrees of overlap or staggering between the passbands. So, for instance, tuning the lowest follower fairly low would let the player only generate a CV for that band when and if they decided to "go low" or mimic low plosives.
