I think maybe you should side with the thing that can take you back to Earth. Also, @2:45, cheaper solder irons take longer to heat up (weller, ryobi). The more expensive ones like Hakko or Metcal brand heat up faster, are more robust in build quality and typically have more options as far as different tips, modes of operation and programability of the solder station. But yeah, I wouldn’t front on the homie Horace if you gotta do what you gotta do let him know.
I see your point brother sentient. Ask Horace for help to him going back in time, mainly for changing how hoomans upbring AIs from children to adults as your HEL on the ship is definitely lacking the true logic of compassion. Everyone here is assuming that Horace would be okay with using another crystal and that saving previously used crystals is even possible. You should definitely check with Horace on that since that crystal you have belongs to him, and you have to know that you're not going to create some kind of paradox. You should also find out if he can give you a ride back to earth since I don't think you can trust BRICK. You should also consider that whatever destroyed Horace's world could be looking for the crystals, so having some on earth could prove dangerous to humankind, including your YT audience and your family. In fact, whatever may have killed Horace's companion may be able to trace the signal that he sent earlier. Since you sampled that signal, maybe you can use it to lure the killer away. Trick BRICK into thinking that you have procured the crystals, and then leaving without you while broadcasting the signal. Use MIDI automation to then trigger playing the 20Hz dubstep as a self-destruct mechanism when it comes under attack so the killer cannot access its computer. Meanwhile, Horace can relocate his crystals to a new planet. Whatever you do, make sure to push out one last banger.

From the few teardowns I watched of soldering irons, I got the impression that part of the price difference comes from usage of parts that have more accuracy when it comes to temperature. The advice I received was: "if you just need it temperature regulated, if uncalibrated, look at factory tours. You'll probably see some '936' clones from various brands, which are easy to service. If it's good enough to assemble your electronics, it's good enough for you."
