Neah Bay Bottom Fishing Completed Video

Mike and Pete of the Gig Harbor Fishin Club spend four days at Neah Bay Washington, fishing for ling cod, cabezon, black rock fish, blue rock fish and yellow tail rock fish. Both anglers use Ugly Stick rods as well as Okuma reels and Kastking reels.

We actually have a big salmon size net but didn’t take it since I frankly anticipated black rock and smallish lings that we don’t even use a net for. When we started catching bigger lings we went to the net to save a few scrapes. Thanks for watching!

We shot this over a few days and enjoyed the fishing immensely. Ling cod bite was wide open and the black rock were hard to find which is opposite of what we’ve seen years past. It’s a great fishery and the amenities were great as well. Mooring and tackle at big salmon and we stayed at the cape in one of their bunkhouse cabins. Throw in a little grey goose and some campfire talk, makes for a great trip.

Is there any good fishing In discovery bay? It looks like salmon is a no go until after the 15th of august. I’ll be staying at WM discovery bay for a week, bringing my fishing kayak. Is there halibut to be had in discovery bay?

Jason, I’ve never fished in discovery bay so not a good source of information. It sure looks like an awesome place to kayak tho. Looks like Lings rockfish are currently closed and the emergency reg shows halibut closed until 16AUG.
