Pressure Canning 15 Bean Pizza Soup
We so enjoyed this crockpot soup that I wanted to can some up for future meals. 15 Bean Pizza Soup sounds a little different, but it is so good! The original recipe for this soup came from here hurstbeans.com...
It is adaptable, super easy as a crockpot meal and a great addition to our pantry shelves. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.

Thank you so much, this recipe was the first thing I have canned in my preasure canner that has been in its box for two years! All 16 pints are perfect as far as I know. I am so proud of myself. Your easygoing approach made me believe it was possible! Tomorrow I am going to can chicken!

I love your recipe so much! I found this video a couple of years ago, have large batch canned it three times now (24 to 36 quarts each time). This makes the best “quick lunch”. My picky son loves it, too. I do soak the beans overnight then quick cook the beans before adding to jar. I love you, Leisa! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time with us. ❤️🙏🏻🤟🏽

Never thought I would see this. A while back, I left a question about possibly canning 15 bean soup on another channel. No one spoke up to say if it had ever been attempted. I had concerns about the smaller beans, and was advised the peas/lentils would turn to mush. I admire your adventurous spirit.

As you were talking about how to serve this, I thought about the loves of Italian bread that they sell at Walmart. Get one that's already sliced, lay it out on a cookie sheet and let them toast on both sides, then brush them with garlic & EVOO or ghee for croutons. Then fix it like French onion soup. Put the crouton in the soup and top it some fresh shaved parmesan or asiago cheese, or a slice of smoked provolone. Yum! Thanks for the recipe!.

Thank you for this recipe. We have canned the 15 beans soup recipe off the bag and it turned out amazing. It was just as though you took it fresh out of the pot. I have an older friend who they love 15 beans soup and she sent me the bag one day and asked us to please make it so that we could enjoy it on days she does in Iowa we are in Minnesota 8 hrs from her. We did it and she cried, we video taped it and she was so excited. I am so thankful for you, you stretch me in canning beyond what I have done for 41 years. My family just did basic recipes of foods but with you and Heather and so many on your team have us try different things. Also having us look at what we can do different, as much as my family thinks I am weird for canning different more fun than they did, they get to enjoy the goodies that we make and I tell them all about your channel. It also has me have more on hand to not only look out for my family so in situations we have helped feed them especially 2020 but also we have used our canned food to feed single parents and their children. So fun to grocery shop in my pantry and feed others who need it and know what food we are giving them. I say thank you because my daughter already as a single gal at 23 does miles above me at her age. Merry Christmas Sutton Family and others your a blessing beyond

Good morning! That sounds really good. I'd like you to review it in a month or so? If you do, at that time, I'd like to know if you had sage in sausage that made it funky, if you would've put more veg in now that you've tried it, and how I'd put fresh mushrooms in recipe instead, and lastly... how'd the olives turn out and might slices work okay???? In the meantime, I think I'll improvise from that and try it as a crock pot dinner. Im trying to avoid the pizza and the bread... and this sounds re-e-e-ally good.

Just saw this video the other night- Sorry Leisa go big or go home QUART jars. since 2 pints equal 1 Qt well ya know, I doubled everything into the Qt jars. Ok, I admit instead of 4 TBS of beans it was 5 TBS, I had left over but not enough room for another jar in the canner. Worked out well, although the whole time it was cooking I kept praying I hope the extra beans in there are ok. Stayed at the 1" head space, had a little siphoning when I finally opened the canner, but all in all the jars all sealed. AWESOME recipe- THANKS :)

I also doubled and used quart jars. I'm new to canning. Everything sealed and I processed the time for quarts but I still read so much about botulism that I'm almost scared to try it. I know it sounds ridiculous. My question is if I boil what I can for 10 minutes before eating, does that kill botulism if there was any? Anybody want to answer that, I'd sure appreciate it. Thank you.

    • @marthaalward3740

Whoa definitely going on my to try list. Not really canning to save money or to put a bunch of food away for a year at a time for the most part. Really just doing it so that I can have a bunch of variety when it comes to meals without the down side of making something and then having to eat just that for the next week. This way I can pick and choose from a variety without having to settle for a bunch of premade chemicals in a tray. This seems to fit the bill.

Just put a pot of the broth on the stove to make this. It's got me to thinking. What about a 15 bean taco soup version.... Maybe ground beef with taco seasoning instead of the sausage, onions, olives, 15 bean mix (maybe some pinto beans because tacos), maybe some whole corn. Still thinking on what to put in the broth. Maybe add a can of diced tomatoes and chilies to it when warming it up so they don't get super mushy in canning. Garnish with a bit of fiesta blend grated cheese and roughly crushed tortilla chips.

I would doctor it up six ways to Sunday and even now, regardless of how good of a cook I am and all the various dishes I make, my family still clamors for that sauce. How does the canned soup compare to the crock pot version? I did find the mini peperoni at Walmart but they were $3.98 for 7 oz. I bought them because they are so cute but if this soup becomes a regular canning project I'm going to get the regular size & cut them in quarters.

Looking good. I cut my olives with the same thingy you cut your onions and peppers in...I'm lazy and thats one of my favorite quick tools. Works great on plums too.

maybe you could hold back one jar of broth to use for rinsing out the marinara jar.

This looks amazing. It does look expensive to prepare though, so I would be tempted to make a crockpot batch and can the left overs. YUMMY!

I just made a pot of this, to be sure we liked it before canning up a bunch. OMGoodness, this stuff is amazing! I was a little skeptical, just looking at the recipe…I subbed navy beans for the 15 bean mix, otherwise followed the original crock pot recipe (except I used my Instant Pot and it was done in less than an hour!). I can’t wait to can this up in volume for the winter months ahead!! Thank you so much…we love it!

My son is watching this with me and he goes 'can she hear my doubt through the internet? because I got doubts'. I got some stick pepperonis at a local discount store for $1, I grabbed up like 8 and threw some in the freezer. My kids complain about having to cut it, but I'm like hey I didn't have to buy it shoosh.

Thanks so much for this video. I love to try new soups. This one is a winner! I made today. Made a huge batch. Canned 7 qts and enough for our supper to night. I swapped the 15 bean and used pinto and black beans. I also swapped the marinara for 2 qts tomato juice and chicken broth. I will for sure be making more for winter storage. Hubby really enjoyed it. Again thank you! Love your videos.
