The reason Abaddon can be both a place and a being, is because angels are not beings like you and I. They can take a physical form, but their actual form is beyond our comprehension.

It is pretty clear that in Revelation 9, Abaddon is fulfilling the will of God rather than rebelling against Him. Also, in chapter 20 of Revelation, the same angel (described as the angel holding the key to the abyss) is the one who ultimately binds Satan in chains and throws him into the pit. This makes it clear that Abaddon is not a rebel angel but is rather fulfilling the will of God and is fighting in opposition to Satan.

What Christian is not confused as all the information we get to see or hear about is rather like trying to make a scrambled egg mixed with spice, milk, and sometimes onions or cheese into just one whole complete egg in it's original state? If you read the King James Bible you'll eventually realize that Abaddon (or Appolyon, what ever your preference) is the king over the bottomless pit. There is an order to God's universe, and Abaddon holds a place in this order. He is the servant of God, he IS NOT the devil (or Satan, or Lucifer, again whatever your preference), nor should he be confused as such. For one, the devil is not now in hell, nor has he ever been, yet (but that is coming soon). So, to make the poor assumption that Abaddon is some sort of bad guy that we should fear is stupid. Nor is Abaddon a captive of the bottomless pit. Think of him like the warden. Actually the bible makes it clear Satan never goes to hell but he instead is thrown into the Lake of Fire. Hell is the waiting place for the non believers who are waiting to be judged by God for their sins. Hell wasn't created for the demons but for men as a temperary waiting place until judgment. The Lake of Fire was created for Satan and his demons. It also makes it clear that all in hell will be judged at the great white throne of God and then also be cast into the Lake of Fire that was created for Satan and his demons. This is pretty clear at the end of the book of revelations in the bible.
I think you're right in saying that Abbadon isn't necessarily an evil entity. In fact, I believe he's more so an instrument of God's will, neither good nor evil. I don't even think he enjoys causing suffering, since he's God's angel he probably hates it. But he knows what must be done.
I think Abaddon is like an Angle but one that has a very dark task to perform in accordance with God. Like a fail safe in bio/chemical research to destroy everything within a scope of design so it does not infect everything.
I believe there is an actual being in Revelations referred to as Abaddon, based on their role and/or personality. The other mentionings of Abaddon sometimes refer to the Abyss, and other times are used in a poetic nature. This belief is mostly based on my understanding of Hebrew (which is little). In that it's characters can have multiple meanings based on context.

The creator made a truly decent man in Job because his faith, his hope, endured through adversity enough that he laid no blame on those around him - he held to the principles of decency and goodness in the face of tremendous loss - so he never left his faith in God which is a lesson the Devil needed to understand. No creation can truly tear itself away from its creator - all creations inevitably serve the purpose of their creator.

The story of Job has broken my heart since I was little. No reason for that man to have suffered that way simply for loving and having faith in God. And God's behavior portrayed as a villain making a bet with an evil entity simply to prove a point. The story is sick when you really think about it. The God of purest love that I have a relationship with is not in any way known to resemble the one in that story.

Maybe Abaddon (in Revelation) is meant for punishment. If I remember correctly, this entity is not known to be good or evil. But, in terms of the angel of death, that's archangel Azrael.

For the first part that is a hard no. God himself took the lives of the Egyptian firstborn, as a side note each plague was a shot at a different Egyptian god. Nonetheless all demons have no power against me. Jesus died on the cross to make sure that they are all under my feet. Jesus gave me the authority to deny them, to bind them, to cast them out and to command them! This is why when they say “JESUS SAVES” it goes beyond the forgiveness of sins, it means, we are now righteous at the eyes of God father because when God looks at us now, He sees Jesus’ sacrifice. So from my understanding Abaddon was not evil in any way and is known as the "Angel of the void", a sort of final page in the final chapter in the grand story of our world. After the rapture and Armageddon when the war between the angels and the demons comes to earth for the final showdown Abaddon arrives from amongst the darkness between the stars to wipe it all clean, a sort of absolute end destroying all remaining mortals and demons on earth sending them to be judged. I think what revelation is talking about, is an angel of God living in the abyss, whos task is to shepherd the broken souls that did not leave this Earth to the afterlife. The locusts who come from the abyss are actually the undead who have come to exact their vengeance upon the living. The king apollyon/abaddon leads the undead out of the abyss and into this world. Once their work is done, they are free to return to the abyss, or return to God (with the rest of their soul waiting in heaven). Abaddon is not the devil or evil. He does not sacrifice souls or eat souls. The kingdom of heaven rests within the deep, so naturally, God needed angels to guard the perimeter of his kingdom. He is like the darker version of Michael. Where-as Michael fights from the high place in the tree of life, so to does Abaddon fight from below in the tree of life. Abaddon terrifies humans because he is the living embodiment/shadow of God. The wrath of God is contained in him, as he hears the screams and pain from all the souls that were broken in this world by all the ugly and monstrous things humanity has done (look at any genocide in the last 100 years, you'll know what I'm talking about). Abaddon enters this world when the dead have grown tired of the living mocking them. And there's been a lot of that in our world.
The destroying angel was never considered evil. See Exodus 12:23, where he is used by the Lord during passover. Or look to Gensis 18 and 19 where 2 Angels are used by God to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. In addition, the bible makes it clear that the destroyer will only torture those without the seal of God in them. The angel would most likely refer to Michael. The angel with the key to the abyss who let's out the destroyer might be Gabriel.

I’m not sure what’s drawn me to this but it feels as if Abaddon is actually present. This is a confusing topic because Satan has many names throughout the Bible and when this being Abaddon is referred to as one of those names, it tends to add confusion. Abaddon is referred to as Destroyer and king of the bottomless pit, these titles/descriptions have been attributed to Satan. However, in the context of Revelations, he could not be Satan because he is given strict conduct to act under and a purpose not associated to Satan. He is sent to carry out plagues, to torture but not to kill, Revelations 9:6. Abaddon is not a neutral entity, Satan, one of Gods angels or a hitman of sorts for God.

It then became apparent that this laughter was emanating from a specific distant location, but as laughter became louder and drew closer, I saw that it was some sort of being riding in a car or self-propelled chariot that bounded across the land in great leaps. Then a period of when my late parents allowed me to attend every church at least once to see if my mind could be changed from all the lies and bad stuff the Roman Catholics had done. Then observing people when they turned to religion to get their supposed sins absolved and other very religious people fall into the same realm as myself and why, then 9+ years of Theology, 4 years of University obtaining my Bachelor of science in Mental Health, interviewing people on the topic of religion and their beliefs, doing cross sectional world wide studies on Christianity, religions of all sorts, including Paganism, and researching the oldest tomes and Bibles available at the time, talking to many Priests, Reverends, Pastors and basically cult leaders guised as religions, living in a very busy public family business while growing up, watching people, their reactions to things related in any way, much observation I continue to do, talking with many many elders no longer here today, the study of multiculturism and their beliefs, never really saying anything myself but listening and seeing. As well as many people in high religious positions willfully volunteering information they had learned and their opinions on such topics and continuing to read everything related that I can get my hands on still. And now internet sites with such information giving interviews and thoughts on each religious topics and studies of religious findings though so many religions are not necessarily Christian. Maybe too much people watching their customs, behaviors to certain things, still observing and reading. I find it all fascinating and always have.

It is pretty clear that in Revelation 9, Abaddon is fulfilling the will of God rather than rebelling against Him. Also, in chapter 20 of Revelation, the same angel (described as the angel holding the key to the abyss) is the one who ultimately binds Satan in chains and throws him into the pit. This makes it clear that Abaddon is not a rebel angel but is rather fulfilling the will of God and is fighting in opposition to Satan.

If you read the King James Bible you'll eventually realize that Abaddon (or Appolyon, what ever your preference) is the king over the bottomless pit. There is an order to God's universe, and Abaddon holds a place in this order. He is the servant of God, he IS NOT the devil (or Satan, or Lucifer, again whatever your preference), nor should he be confused as such. For one, the devil is not now in hell, nor has he ever been, yet (but that is coming soon). So, to make the poor assumption that Abaddon is some sort of bad guy that we should fear is stupid. Nor is Abaddon a captive of the bottomless pit. Think of him like the warden.

Actually the bible makes it clear Satan never goes to hell but he instead is thrown into the Lake of Fire. Hell is the waiting place for the non believers who are waiting to be judged by God for their sins. Hell wasn't created for the demons but for men as a temperary waiting place until judgment. The Lake of Fire was created for Satan and his demons. It also makes it clear that all in hell will be judged at the great white throne of God and then also be cast into the Lake of Fire that was created for Satan and his demons. This is pretty clear at the end of the book of revelations in the bible.
I think you're right in saying that Abbadon isn't necessarily an evil entity. In fact, I believe he's more so an instrument of God's will, neither good nor evil. I don't even think he enjoys causing suffering, since he's God's angel he probably hates it. But he knows what must be done.

I believe there is an actual being in Revelations referred to as Abaddon, based on their role and/or personality. The other mentionings of Abaddon sometimes refer to the Abyss, and other times are used in a poetic nature.
This belief is mostly based on my understanding of Hebrew (which is little). In that it's characters can have multiple meanings based on context.

What’s it about
Abaddon is the angel with the keys to the Abyss - a jailer, the warden to the prison in which the watchers were thrown. An angel in darkness seen by God is one whose activities are within God's dominion and design.
And the conflict between God and the Devil was not ended with Job's return to God's worship and trust. God won the conflict with the Devil because Job, no matter his suffering, did not turn from his loyalty to his friends. Job could not bring himself to vengeance. Vengeance is the Lord's - ergo, Job never truly steps away from the Word of God (roughly translated in meaning through the 10 Commandments and in Jesus' Golden Rule).
God remains above the pettiness of human feelings, God did not cheat the Devil and the time was taken for this event because it was an allegory and not a historical event. The creator made a truly decent man in Job because his faith, his hope, endured through adversity enough that he laid no blame on those around him - he held to the principles of decency and goodness in the face of tremendous loss - so he never left his faith in God which is a lesson the Devil needed to understand.
No creation can truly tear itself away from its creator - all creations inevitably serve the purpose of their creator.

The story of Job has broken my heart since I was little. No reason for that man to have suffered that way simply for loving and having faith in God. And God's behavior portrayed as a villain making a bet with an evil entity simply to prove a point. The story is sick when you really think about it. The God of purest love that I have a relationship with is not in any way known to resemble the one in that story.

So from my understanding Abaddon was not evil in any way and is known as the "Angel of the void", a sort of final page in the final chapter in the grand story of our world. After the rapture and Armageddon when the war between the angels and the demons comes to earth for the final showdown Abaddon arrives from amongst the darkness between the stars to wipe it all clean, a sort of absolute end destroying all remaining mortals and demons on earth sending them to be judged.
Also the version I heard his name was pronounced "Abba-dawn" though I dont remember where I first heard this story as Im not religious and only find these figures interesting from a mythological point of view. I know Abaddon is the Old testament and the new testament he is known as Apollyon as one is Hebrew and the other is Greek. Hard to find good sources on him though from a strictly analytical perspective.
From the version I heard he seemed like easily the most powerful angel, far more so than Michael or Lucifer.

Abaddon (A-ba-ddon) is the angel whom is the keeper of the Abyss. Not a demon. He is the entity that has the task of killing the 2 Witnesses at the time when that must occur. And he is not controlled by the devil nor is he the angel of death.

I think what revelation is talking about, is an angel of God living in the abyss, whos task is to shepherd the broken souls that did not leave this Earth to the afterlife. The locusts who come from the abyss are actually the undead who have come to exact their vengeance upon the living. The king apollyon/abaddon leads the undead out of the abyss and into this world. Once their work is done, they are free to return to the abyss, or return to God (with the rest of their soul waiting in heaven).
Abaddon is not the devil or evil. He does not sacrifice souls or eat souls. The kingdom of heaven rests within the deep, so naturally, God needed angels to guard the perimeter of his kingdom. He is like the darker version of Michael. Where-as Michael fights from the high place in the tree of life, so to does Abaddon fight from below in the tree of life. Abaddon terrifies humans because he is the living embodiment/shadow of God. The wrath of God is contained in him, as he hears the screams and pain from all the souls that were broken in this world by all the ugly and monstrous things humanity has done (look at any genocide in the last 100 years, you'll know what I'm talking about).
Abaddon enters this world when the dead have grown tired of the living mocking them. And there's been a lot of that in our world.
The destroying angel was never considered evil. See Exodus 12:23, where he is used by the Lord during passover. Or look to Gensis 18 and 19 where 2 Angels are used by God to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.
In addition, the bible makes it clear that the destroyer will only torture those without the seal of God in them. The angel would most likely refer to Michael. The angel with the key to the abyss who let's out the destroyer might be Gabriel.
Fun fact: There is a kaiju called Abaddon in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. He was contained in Devils Tower, Wyoming until King Ghidorah awakened him.

Because his line of work demands dark and ungodly doings (he does have to torture humans for a while) he cannot dwell within the great Heavenly Kingdom... so Hell is where he precises his next move although not where he deserves to be nore wants to be... he is after all our only true friend in death wether we like it or not. What Sheol is a state of darkness not knowing time or place. It’s where we all go when we die. It can’t be hell because hell has not actually started yet. According to Jude angels are sealed in a pit awaiting destruction, Daniel and Revelation speak on the Beast or satan being thrown into the pit, when judgement day comes. I’m not sure what’s drawn me to this but it feels as if Abaddon is actually present. I don’t remember where I discovered information about him but since then I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it and even chose aliases synonymous with him. Something about the word wormwood is also calling to me even though I don’t really understand it’s meaning. Of all entities this is the one that’s stuck with me more than anything.

This is a confusing topic because Satan has many names throughout the Bible and when this being Abaddon is referred to as one of those names, it tends to add confusion. Abaddon is referred to as Destroyer and king of the bottomless pit, these titles/descriptions have been attributed to Satan. However, in the context of Revelations, he could not be Satan because he is given strict conduct to act under and a purpose not associated to Satan. He is sent to carry out plagues, to torture but not to kill, Revelations 9:6. Abaddon is not a neutral entity, Satan, one of Gods angels or a hitman of sorts for God.

Great video... My one issue is the thought of Satan being God's eternal enemy as opposed to man's eternal enemy. Just a pet peeve of mines, putting the Adversary on God's level.

IA few weeks ago I've had a vision and in this vision I saw uterdarkness and within this darkness I saw a pathway that just seemed to keep going and as I looked around I could see these firery demons were all around me and as I looked down I saw that I was wearing this black armore as If I was getting ready for battle and as I looked at the corner of my eye I saw that I had these huge black wings and a huge black spiky sword. As all of this was going on as I was in the body I was so angry and scared that I didn't know what to do, and then I saw a tiny light and the I snaped out of it ( durning this time I was standing up. Destruction whilst it can be used for good, can be used for evil, there is no wisdom gained from destruction but plenty can be lost due to it. Without destruction there could be no rebirth, no new creation for there is a finite amount of space available for the living and created.

@@therealgj995 Well for starters, I was in an all girl's Roman Catholic, private and remote school. By age 8, I had seen one too many of their disgusting lies. Then a period of when my late parents allowed me to attend every church at least once to see if my mind could be changed from all the lies and bad stuff the Roman Catholics had done. Then observing people when they turned to religion to get their supposed sins absolved and other very religious people fall into the same realm as myself and why, then 9+ years of Theology, 4 years of University obtaining my Bachelor of science in Mental Health, interviewing people on the topic of religion and their beliefs, doing cross sectional world wide studies on Christianity, religions of all sorts, including Paganism, and researching the oldest tomes and Bibles available at the time, talking to many Priests, Reverends, Pastors and basically cult leaders guised as religions, living in a very busy public family business while growing up, watching people, their reactions to things related in any way, much observation I continue to do, talking with many many elders no longer here today, the study of multiculturism and their beliefs, never really saying anything myself but listening and seeing. As well as many people in high religious positions willfully volunteering information they had learned and their opinions on such topics and continuing to read everything related that I can get my hands on still. And now internet sites with such information giving interviews and thoughts on each religious topics and studies of religious findings though so many religions are not necessarily Christian. Maybe too much people watching their customs, behaviors to certain things, still observing and reading. I find it all fascinating and always have.

They are spoken of in a way that is comparable to how he is mentioned in the New Testament, as the quintessential devil. What this suggests to me is that Satan as "the Devil" may not have been a Christian revision, but rather more naturally coincided with how First Century Jewish culture in general though about Satan.
