About 10 years ago, I had a dream about Samael that was incredibly intense and realistic. It’s a long story, but that dream had a very huge impact on my life... it was basically a warning that I needed to read the Bible so I could identify false idols (like Samael, who I was worshipping in my dream)... he went by Samiel (the ancient Hebrew pronunciation), but he looked just like he did in this picture, minus the wings and glowing eyes, but with dark gray robe, deformed hands, and long sharp claws. I didn’t even know anything about demons or angels back then. I only read about him a couple years ago and was blown away.
The whole video actually makes me think that, more than being "kinda evil", Samael is more like the type of ultrazealous servant of God. So much so that he goes: "Imma tempt and fight every single human just to get an excuse to condemn them and I can prove to God that none of them is actually worthy of Him".
To me, Samael is the hound of god. He is the manifestation of his wrath and the bane of the sinners. He tries to fulfill the purpuose of his master so much he is willing to chase men just to bring a present of his undying loyalty to god, just like some dogs kill birds or little animals and bring them to their owners as a "gift", but when they are reprehended the piss under a table or a piece of clothe because they feel betrayed.

No actually it was marijuana. True story when we finished with the creation of the vegetation to support life here he asked me if there was anything I wanted to add, that was a show of gratitude for my effort, so I came and got a marijuana seed but it mucked all kinds of shit up. At first it grew like a vine and was the thorn bush that grew over the garden of eden and choked out all the trees. Then the flowers it produced were poisonous

Just a few angel names. All ending in suffix EL. Like a stamp of the army of God.
@Real Deal interesting....El seems to be singular for Elohim. In hebrew, adding the suffix (IM) makes masculine words plural in most cases. So Elohim by that logic seems to mean "many el". There is also another name for God in hebrew and it is eloah.
So it seems the singular form would be El or eloah. And the plural form Elohim. I may be wrong but many many words in Hebrew become plural by adding the suffix IM. For example: king in Hebrew is Meleck. And kings is meleckim.
Another example: brother is Ach. And brothers is AchIM.tree is Etz. Trees is Etzim.
Since the jewish people lived in egypt for a long time....and moses was basically raised in egypt and learned there. And moses was credited for writing the first 5 books of the old Testament (also known as the pentateuch) it might make sense that moses might have been influenced by the egyptian religion which believed in many Gods. Like he altered Egyptian beliefs. In genesis it reads "in the beginning elohim created the heavens and the earth". By using the plural logic....it literally is saying , the GODS created the heaven and the earth. El seems to be just one God.
@Real Deal though Jewish people would say elohim is known to mean just one god since they are a monotheistic religion. Not polytheistic. So sorry to any Jewish people. It is just by the plural logic....elohim seems to mean gods and since the whole Egyptian roots of Moses...some might believe moses was heavily influenced by Egyptian culture and beliefs. This is why Moses could turn his staff into a snake.....and the egyptian magicians also knew how to create magical snakes. Even though mose's snake was more powerful...both seemed to be using the same magic but from different sources. Idk....it is interesting to think about. What do you all think?

“Satan” in the past was plural. We think of satan as singular, the one known as lucifer. The book of Enoch lists the leaders of the fallen angels. I believe sameal is in that list.
Satan is a term that just means enemy or opposer. Lucifer also is a term that just means one who carries the light. Satan and Lucifer are not names but titles. The name is Sorat(greek word for sun demon with hebrew value of 666) it is pronounced sorry, just like you say when you have been bad.
The Satan is little more than a Title I have seen more than one Angel acting as Satan in even just the last Decade... Don't fear him, as he will not harm those that do not go out of their way to harm others. Also many are easily tempted and we don't need outside forces for most to be tempted. If you don't believe me see how many today see what is said on TV and lies that are said in print and speech as true. Also how easy it is to get people to buy worthless stuff that is advertised to them.

I've always thought samael/Lucifer satan/devil as not necessarily evil by nature but the necessary evil needed to be the punisher and warden of the wicked in hell. Created as God intended, to be greatly powerful and to one day "defy" God and to be "cast out". It was really a promotion and being ordained as a demi-god with his own kingdom. But... couldn't really tell him that directly... his ego was be enough!

@Nobody Nobody2 From what I read, he's something of a mystery, a gray area between the black of demons and white of angels. He's morally ambiguous, so no one knows whose side he's on, but the part about him procreating with Lilith leaves me puzzled since he's mostly depicted as a skeleton, and the fact that the Angel of Death's union with her is said to be barren.

This is a bit interesting to me, since in the story of Beowulf, one of the first monsters, Grendel, is supposed to be a descendant of Cain, and is also often depicted as a giant.

Basically,Samael tempts human's to test if their are good or evil.Example: X is alone with one blind person,you could say he comes to test if X is a person with a good heart or evil by tempting X to commit a crime by stealing but the choice is still at X's hand.
This makes sense. Important for a day like Monday when you need to use Samael to destroy the very worst part of yourself so that you can be free and in alignment with the week.
His being associated with being Cain's true father, would also indicate Satan, the old Serpent... the good seed versus the bad seed.. Lucifer was also said to be at the left hand of the father.. not the right, the more favorable, the strongest, the law.
To me, the evil spirit Belial is akin to Samael/Satan as the holy spirit is to God.
However the snake was merely a tool to mislead Adam and Eve. The serpent isnt Satan because the serpent was cursed to crawl on its belly forever, even if Lucifer or Samael were merely disguised, they would have been facing this punishment with no way around it

Samael seems to be a true trickster figure akin to Loki in the MC Universe, where he is neither entirely good or evil. It is also fitting that Jacob, a trickster himself, would be wrestling with Samael and leave him limbing when done; in other words, Jacob defeated his own trickstery nature and subsided it, gaining him the the name Israel, meaning "Wrestling with God (God's left hand specifically)".

"Satan" means "adversary". It's a title. So, any primary troublesome figure can technically be cast as "Satan". This however is a title that is usually reserved for individuals (or entities) that willingly committ crimes and wrongdoings.

I find all this myths absolutely amazing and I love how all the names give an obvious clue about the actual origin of the peoples of Israel, Canaan, Phoenicia and even the Arabs. The main deity of those people was called El, which names like Israel, Ismael, Samael, Gabriel and so on come from. Even the name Muslims give to God, Al-lah, comes from that name (after all, Arabic is a Semitic language), as well as Elias or Elijah.

My interpretation was that even though Jacob made many mistakes in his life, some kind of unforgivable, he asked God or “wrestled” with God to ask for His blessing. The story I’ve read here is about divine retribution in the form of karma, coming back to haunt Jacob for his past transgressions, in the form of Samael the Archangel, which makes sense as well. Still, for this human being to wrestle with God, or Samael the Archangel, and live, is a legendary story in and of itself.
