Good to see you braving the storm, and what a cool place to do it. I always enjoy your little cook ups & like you whenever I go on a metal detecting session I always seem to forget or break something! 😂 enjoyable as ever Cat! Marcus
Hell Kat, from over here in NZ. Enjoyed the video. I have in my fire kit, A small hip flask filled with Kerosene (well-marked with the label "Kerosene" of course). Just a few drops on the wood and leave it to soak in for a minute or two and it never fails to light. This also works well when the wood is damp. Have been out in the forest 18 times so far this year and the old kerosene trick worked well in 5 of the trips (in the rain). Take care out there, ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ ☺☺
Being an old ruin myself, I adore old mine ruins there is something special about the memories of the men and women that worked there in inhospitable conditions. Where men were men and the women weren't. I want to camp there now, lol. Good for you for trying it out, you seem to have a penchant for what others would deem 'spooky'
Haha yes I like the old ruins for the same reasons, love thinking about what life would've been like back then, how the land would've looked different, the conditions people lived in etc and yes love the spooky places lol!
aahhh SLUG ;) Sometimes I'll bring a short length of a 5+ cm thick hard wood so I can get a cooking coal in the twig stove. Great camp what a cool location!
Brilliant one Cat. Oh god the slug one 🤮 Lovely little setup. Always a nightmare trying to cook food without under cooking the middle on a fire. One of my problems haha. Keep Loving the Adventure. Take Care 🙏
Cheers Asa! The nightmare that was slug in a mug 🤣 Not much choice but to burn stuff when cooked like that lol! I wonder if some kind of foil tray could work maybe or a pan lid 🤔
I remember the slug in your drink video.... it still makes me gag, thinking about it. Infact I spent money on a silicone collapsible mug with a lid ( from a charity shop for 50p ) because of it... your little space kept you out of the worst of the wind.. I camped up a Neolithic hill fort on that night ( posted the video ) was sheltered from the rough winds but still got bettered and regretted my tent choice. Take care out there
@@Kev.B.4311 actually!! I do believe it's quite dangerous to ingest slug slime... it kills dogs and they have a real strong constitution.. am gunna stop thinking about it now .. am getting that pre-spew watery mouth...
sausage mash and green beans? thats what i had last night! those green beans make you fart like a thunder god though haha since you did such a good job of tidying up you can come round help me with my house!🤣
This was an awesome camp. Exactly the kind of thing I’d love to do! But are you never afraid of any bad people coming round at night to do you harm? Or is the UK that much safer than the US? Honest question. In the US, I’d definitely be concerned. I’m in awe of you and Claire’s (wildebear) bravery!
I'd say it is safer than the US (no guns or bears for example) but still not totally safe. This camp I was slightly worried but never have been before. If you get away from the trails and out of sight then it's unlikely anyone would find you. Try homemade wonderlust's channel from US, she's great. Hope u find the courage to give it a try 😊
@@comfycorelife3654 didn't realise which video u had commented on 'this camp' was my most recent camp 😉 hope u make it over to the uk one day although I am envious of your vast wilderness in US
@@Wild.cat.adventures that’s ok! I’ve been to the UK lots of times but I’ve never camped there! We do have lots of land. But live in Texas where there is very little public land like you have! Evening is behind a fence! There are many beautiful parks where people can camp in designated spaces tho!
@@comfycorelife3654 wild camping is illegal in the uk unless on dartmoor (an area in south England) or Scotland. It's not criminal though, just landowner can take you to court. The wild spaces we have are private but usually classed as open access because they cant farm or build in those areas (mountains and boggy moors etc). It would be nice to have more designated areas like in US!
Great watch Cat, well done again...👍 I cooked 3ltrs of Spag-Bol on a Meth Stove, in my living room last night...!😋 Guess wot's for dinner the rest of this week...!🤔🤣
