Someone needs to mow the grass! Taking off in that tall grass is just begging for trouble. Also, the tall grass cut by the prop and landing gear will get into the retract mechanism and can cause gear problems. Doing a belly landing because the gear won't go down will make the crew chief very unhappy. It is HIS airplane. not yours. He just lets you fly it. Cut the grass!

When the Mustang, or ANY, "tail dragger", reached take off speed, his tail would come up so the fuselage is at that point, parallel to the ground. THEN QUICKLY, the plane would reach take off speed. Not to be condemning, but that truly is what happens........
Probably the trim wasn't set for t/o and/or TJ (Or AI?) was pulling back on the stick throughout the t/o. Still, a safe takeoff

Didn´t know there were Russian pilots in the USAAF. Don´t know Russian but I think it reads MANOR...BAZZJOVAE or something like that on the nose. Translation? Great videos you make by the way.
Never heard of Mustangs taking off from grass fields. Always prepared fields. Brits and Germans yes.

The main thing that the Allies had going for them is that the Nazis were ubiquitously stupid. They never realized the futility of fighting an adversary like the USAF and so wound up on the scrap heap of history.
