I strongly suggest you getting the Flying Circus for IL-2, the WWI in VR is beyond everything you ever saw in flight sims till today...
I have it....yet to try it.

I'd recommend you assign a zoom in button so you can ID targets much earlier

@@UWfalcin it is possible in both games. you can zoom in for iL2 and DCS. Its also essential your not getting the most out of the headset or game if you dont use it
@@upursanctum So which command is it for zooming in in VR? My regular zoom binds (zoom in/out slow) I use in track IR doesn’t work
@@UWfalcin you have to set it up in settings, for DCS you can use your virtual hands to zoom in. In IL-2 it is called VR Zoom and it has one level only (not continuous like on flat screen).

Does Il-2 have native VR support, or do you need to mod it in some way? If it's native support, which version of the game i need?
I only played the original IL-2 + IL-2: Forgotten battles, way back when it was originally released (i think it was back in 2003 and 2004).
Then i moved on to more modern planes and somewhat abandoned IL-2 for Lock:On (the DCS predecessor). I lost interest in WW2 flying for a while.
I know that there were many further Il-2 games released since then and i became completely lost in what is what.
I know that there were games titled IL-2: 1946; IL-2 Cliffs of Dover; IL-2 Tobruk, and probably even more than that.
I really have no clue which game to get if i want the latest/most complete experience. Any tips?

I find it hard keeping in formation in IL2. Wish they would update the earlier instalments of IL2 great battles to this level of clarity. In the earlier games you get the two stack system, lower rigid formation of slow ground attack/bombers, higher stack of escort fighters. The fighters weave to maintain a higher speed and banking gives better visuals when looking for targets.
Yeah, but it does look super awesome when you get it just right ;-)
it is much easier to form up in VR then on flat screen, not just due to natural head position, but also you can easy judge the distance.

Sounds like perhaps your system is getting very low fps ?

@@SimUKReviews Quest 1? No wonder you cant identify planes around you. Get Reverb G2, its not expensive (450USD in offer) and if you turn down some details your RTX3070 will handle it.

Not P51s. Those were P47s. A basic knowledge of WW2 aircraft would serve you well. The wing shapes gave them away a LONG way before you got to them.
Not in VR where it blurry lad....a bit of VR knowledge would serve you well, as would some bloody manners lad?
The owners of this game are flat out crooks, they removed money from my account and will not refund it even though they said they would.
I double purchased an item once by accident (steam and website) they refunded me within 5 days.
Maybe just open a line of communication?
Pity the campaign - lack of- is utter garbage. VR seems to be the biggest sugar coating that’s blinded mil-sims to this shallow affair. Man, bring back the 90s DID,DI,Microprose, Rowan and Empire

Terrible company, terrible game, crap AI, crap career/missions, boring and unrealistic. Stupid prices. Will buy Stalingrad, when its on steam for £7, just to add a Spit to it to fly about in!
Because you suck at it doesn't mean the game is bad. And it is dirt cheap. Go back to WT.
Forgive me for asking, but that you've not purchased the game suggests you've never played it, so how do you know it's crap? I only ask coz after 9 years of putting up with the crappy cheating AI in IL2 1946/BAT, I'm ready for a change and all the indications are that the AI in this one whilst not perfect, has done away with all the things that makes the AI a maddening frustration in the older game.
