Second Origin is a secondary source of magic that all living things have. It only really matters for mages though, it basically allows you to not get magic deficiency syndrome when you use up all your mana. You can access some of it's reserves unconsciously under heavy emotions, but Erza and few others can activate it at will. They are surprised because they thought she is using it the whole time. As for the Nakagami armor it drains your magic at an impossible pace, but for as long as you are able to survive it's drain you are completely immune to magic, which hard counters pure magic damage Minerva.

It's fine that Erza beat Kagura, I just hate that they built up Kagura's sword being never drawn from its sheath and when she finally does it Erza just blocks it like it's a regular strong attack... super anticlimactic.

Second origin is a power boost comparable to a 3 months training so that they can acquire their strength of power in the future in a short period of time. Same reason how Natsu beat Sting and rogue alone because of second origin. They didn't get a proper training, that's why Ultear gave them the second origin.
Nakagami armor is the effect of second origin, she acquire her power in the future even though she doesn't have a proper 3 months of training. As for Nakagami ability, it can cut anything even space that's why Minerva's magic attacks didn't work because Minerva's magic are space type magic.
Aisu AkumaSlayer Spatial magic is used by both Erza and Minerva, second origin is a mastered spell possessed by everyone and is released with strong and powerful emotion but some like Erza and Natsu can use it at will, Erzas second origin is Nakagami Armor which can cut through things like Spacial magic of Minerva,Celestial magic and spirits,Silver fullbuster but silver filibuster is like spatial but it’s more powerful so unlikely but still likely.

Seeing this fight proves that erza was a lot stronger than kagura and minerva. Why? Erza beat kagura without even using her benizakura sword and as for minerva of course it was shown how scared minerva was when erza pull her second origin out. That second origin inflicts such massive amount of damage.
