He could have tried to protect his small ex team mate instead of driving this body into the ground. It's just a bad look for RG no matter what you say .
Hahaha…this guy right here man!!! You made my day with this well thought through comment…
Munster should ask for their money back. And what posessed Leinster to sign him. He only plays for the Boks.
They will never do that because they buy to win
RG always played so well, when not injured, at Munster.....will do similar at Leinster🤞
Thanks for the foreign exchange, I'm sure RG is enjoying spending it at home!
As a Bok supporter, I am very sorry for Casey and I wish him a speedy recovery. However, it looks like a rugby collision with no malicious intent. All rugby players are aware of risks like these when they sign up for the game.

And to put the cherry on the cake the band started up and the party was in full speed while a player lay with serious injury’s on the floor thats ignorant.
The selective outrage on display here is mind blowing... People referring to values like decency and consideration whilst participating in character assassination of a player... 🤯Hope Casey bounces back quickly.
The tackle was not high, or illegal in any way. You may argue that he followed through a little robustly, but there is not a ref in the world that will want to play card games with this. The damage was done when the back of his head whiplashed onto the surface - an unfortunate rugby incident!
He slapped the ball out of Casey's hand and then tackles him. Hmm, borderline.
@@dairet1945lies he never touched the ball. If he did it would have been a penalty for Ireland. He grabbed the arm to tackle the man.
@@Jagged-mm7sb What difference does that make? Point is Casey no longer had the ball then Snyman tackled him.
With the ball long gone, Snyman slams him to the ground, then pushes his body weight onto Casey and pushes his head into Casey's. There is a principle of care when tackling a player. The rugby incident was the tackle, what happenned after was Snyman's choice. He saw he could get away with hurting Casey, and thats what he did. Casey will have sufferred some brain damage there.
@@turloughconway8178 he was tracking the player not the 🏈.
I am South-African and I also think RPG could have stopped or discontinued the tackle. Also the DJ is over the top at Loftus.
I believe by absolutely playing the ball the Springboks can and will become better. Stop that kind of wasting of energy and beat the opponent by playing the game, the ball with real intensity and completely get rid of all off he ball, even slightly, stuff. We want to be the best.... Focus on the ball, the strategy and win every game.

Head injuries are common in rugby. Therefore, all the strict rules revolving around it.Rugby is a contact sport and the players are fully aware of the dangers and choose to play the game.No gun put to the head.If you don't agree with a full contact sport then don't whatch it.
@@RaymondRigg-v6k Here is the rule.
13. A player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously. Dangerous tackling includes, but is not limited to, tackling or attempting to tackle an opponent above the line of the shoulders even if the tackle starts below the line of the shoulders.
Dangerous tackle is at discretion of referee outside defined high or spear tackle. Snyman has no momentum and the situiation is not dangerous when he grasps Casey after the ball is gone. Snyman runs him backwards before slamming his feet and slamming him into the ground. Snyman creates the danger of injury after the contact with no ball. Its dangerous play. This is before we discuss Snyman pushing his forehead into Casey's face 'Bakkies like' while Casey was unconscious.

I'm a Munster supporter n a fan of Snyman but it is my opinion that he took out Casey. The ball was gone. After that massive attack he just turned n walked away. To me, it deserved a yellow or even red card.
I'm sorry. No mitigation. It had nothing to do with playing the ball.
As Irish fans we should stop whining. We were beaten by a team as good as ours. We just need to get better. I didn’t see any of our big guys go easy on Faf de Klerk or Cheslin Kolbe.
Interesting how there is no blame game. But they proceed to blame Snyman.
Not Partisan, but player safety dictates that World Rugby should punsih Snyman for what he does AFTER he hits Casey. The force with which Snyman (deliberately) smacks Casey off the ground causes the brain injury, Snyman subsequently sliding his body weight over Casey and pushing his head into Casey while unconcious only makes it worse.
Really... Why is this even a discussion. It's a rugby incident. Guys get injured.
With the ball long gone, Snyman slams him to the ground, then pushes his body weight onto Casey and pushes his head into Casey's. Please actually watch the incident fully before commenting.
@@turloughconway8178 I did watch it. That's Rugby boet. Go watch the game again and see how many times that exact thing happens throughout the game. Only reason we talking about this is because his head bounced off the turf.
@@ryancheeseman4688 And before spear takling wa sillegal we only talked about it when someone got hurt, what your point. Please show me another incident in teh match where it happenned. Snyman also put his face into the unconcious Casey on the ground in a hard man 'got ya' way. Deliberate dangerous play needs to be eliminated from rugby and the way is to punish the offending player. Snyman's decision to slam Casey into teh ground caused the danger. The brain injury was the result.
It is a discussion point because the follow through causes Casey's head to violently smash off the ground. Casey was in a bad way after the tackle and is unavailable for the next match. The follow through is not neccesary and it is avoidable. That's all.
@@jamescook4116 Snyman did his job. Of course he followed through, he's a professional player and he wants to keep on working. There's no place for mediocrity on a rugby field.

Not at all, no one compares to the French. At least Ireland management stated they will question some of thr 50/50 calls but they lost etc. Even the mainstream media is in agreement. Some keyboard warriors are stoking the flames but that's on both sides.
They never went to the press conferences straight after the game and moaned about the ref like the French did, disgraceful.

I honestly wouldn't have minded if an Irish player was carded for this incident. Player safety is first.
God this is so weak.
Why would he pull back from a tackle 🤣
Yeah it was to put the player on grass to stop him from going to next ruck.
There is no issue with the collision (even though the ball was gone). It is how Snyman put Casey to the ground. He created an extremely dangerous situation where there was none. He then headbutted Casey.
As a Bok supporter I thought it was a late tackle and at the very least a penalty
I think a penalty would be fair.
It was malicious and unnecessary. Red card.
Rory. I agree. WAS IT INTENTIONAL? YES. HIGH DEGREE OF DANGER? YES. WITH BALL GONE HE DROVE CASEY INTO THE GROUND. ONLY Question For me. YELLOW OR RED.
I hope there are more incidents to complain about, this is fast becoming my favourite channel
Seriously, you want him to pull back in a test match? He's either guilty or not. There's no pulling back because the opposition is a small guy. Because next time, they'll be milking the second guessing.
Think Jim and the Rugby Pod got it right, it was a rugby incident and unfortunate that Casey got injured. It happened to Pat Lambie when CJ Stander ended his career with that late hit. Its rugby, collisions happen.
Will Mccarthy hold back on Faf in same situation.
Games over
Result is in the book
Move on
Rugby is a dynamic game you could dispute play after play particularly if you are Irish
Oxygen is used routinely in S.A. when players go down as part of safety protocols - inevitably they pop up to watch game from the stand, can make the scene look a bit more serious
It’s so unfortunate Casey got injured and I feel for him, but you can’t expect a player to tackle light on someone just coz they have played together
If Casey wasn't hurt, then this wouldn't even be a discussion. We can't cry foul just because of an injury - the tackle was borderline in terms of timing, but legal.
It wasn't legal. It's so obvious he was offside so therefore it was an illegal tackle also. In terms of the tackle technique, from my eyes it was fine. Big man v small man. Injuries happen unfortunately. And also, a rugby player should never ease off in a tackle, that's where most Injuries occur
THe injury wasn't caused by the tackle but by how Snyman decided to slam Casey to the ground full force. He doesn't decide to do that, there is no injury.
Every single rugby player in the world follows through on the tackle. They’re supposed to do that. You absolute babies.
Finally i agree in most part with OTB.
I can't believe what these pundits are saying. No issue with the tackle. Why would a rugby player go soft on a tackle. It's a sport if attrition. You don't decide on your level of impact based on the size of the player you are tackling. You are there to bring the player down and to leave a mark (legally). The outcome of the tackle was unfortunate but that was partially due to hard rock nature of the pitch. Also does the player knock his head on the referees leg on the way down? Hope the lad has a full recovery, no lasting affects and is seen on the pitch asap
Looked like clear foul play to me - Casey no longer in possession of the ball- no need to make a tackle! Its not rocket science.
The decision by Leinster to sign RGS when he'd played for Munster did not sit comfortably; after this incident the writing is on the wall.
it does not matter what anybody says about punishment. That's up the officials. Not you, not I so leave it there.
Like all those perfectly legal late follow throughs on the Bulls from Leinster that were all okayed by the Ref ?
Couldnt even pay attention to your commentary it is your deep voice that caught my attention reminded me of an audio book Richest man in Babylon , i really think your voice should be showcased
A very valid question asked.I didn’t like the length of the tackle.Follow through on player without the ball to long.🇿🇦
Come on guys - Siya had a mini fallout with Eben when he got dumped at a Stormers training session ( the two are close) point is that’s how rugby rolls everyday - no quarter asked or given at Test level Surely?? In Chasing the Sun 2 RG actually makes a statement about playing even harder against mates
If you pull back the coach doesn’t pick you next week, size difference? What a stupid point to make, when the half side steps a lock he doesn’t slow the step down to allow the lock to keep up
Is it a late hit and/ or a bit on the high side ??
Not the hit, its what happens AFTER the hit.
The tackle was perfect, no one that actually knows the rules is disputing this.
No the tackle was perfect. The other guy had his eyes open but wasn't paying attention.
I love how the mood has shifted. All we heard for many months is how great Ireland are - now they moaning about a legitimate tackle. It’s just unfortunate how Casey landed but no malice in it. They need to worry about Saturday - because if Boks turn on the screws it could get ugly 😂 but I guess they will blame the Ref and TMO just like the did after the first test
Wasn’t long ago that the Springboks were called “whingers” and “whiners” by the Irish media….my goodness! You guys are becoming increasingly more embarrassing.
Disgraceful. Red card for the referee! Casey's head hits the ground before his eyes. He sees nothing, then continues as if nothing had happened and doesn't even issue a yellow card. When there are deaths, those responsible for these situations will continue to say: "Nothing happened! At least we didn't see anything!"
What have these guys achieved in rugby?
There was clearly an overlap, rugby players regularly tackle after the ball to put another attacker on the floor, Ireland slow down defence by lying on top of players.
They say they aren't blaming, then they say he didn't have to follow through, but he did, the more players you can delay the less effective the attack/defence.
Ive seen players' head get stamped on, arms broken, got a knee to the temple immediately blacked out. Rugby isnt for weak men.
What happened to Gerr? Haven't seen that bloke in a while
Did he just say a rugby player playing for his country should hold back on tackiling people hard because he knows the opponent....what is happening😂
And the music during the stoppage, what else are you supposed to do. Let 50 000 people just sit in silence for 5 min....
Theres no argument, it was legal, no problem, you don’t pull back, exactly it’s rugby,

Clearing out and following through with a very hard tackle are to very different actions. I think he knew what he was doing and intended harm. The ball had moved on everyone was looking following the ball as shown in multiple clips and pictires yet apparently not Snyman ???.
The ref literally standing beside them see's it and does nothing is the real problem.
