  • A humorous look at what God can do for a liar by Jonathan Golden Kimball.
Chris Hatch has started a TH-cam channel directed towards family history and the spirit of Elijah. I expect he'll do great things!

Thanks for listening! I love the older talks from General Conference. Everyone is taking about the latest general conference so I figured the best way to be different, and therefore worth following, would be to discuss the older talks.

I like your discussion about tolerance. I agree with you and think the word compassion would be a lot better used today than the word tolerant. I believe the word tolerant is used as a negative connotation these days.

I know exactly what you are referring to when you mention the attacks on us when we feel anger and letting what you're carrying go and let the atonement work for you, or let Christ take it. Seems we have frequent tests and trials of late. Also the importance of keeping our covenants and being serious about it. Sad to see the ones we know that are not keeping them, and we can warn, but what else can we do? People in our very wards...You have to keep your covenants and be honest to yourself and others, because you are only being untruthful to yourself if you lie. (But your Spirit knows the truth, so how can you lie?)

      Thank you!
The only thing I know to do for those who don't keep their covenants is to continue to love them. How else will they come to know the love of God if they don't feel any love from those who follow Him? Thank you for watching.

This was a great talk to share! I hadn't heard it before. I tend to discount this past apostle's words because of his... Presentation 😅 perhaps i take myself too seriously at times.
What i appreciated immensely was you talking about the ways you feel the adversary working on and when he tends to strike most diligently. I could have listened to an hour discussion on that and how you have learned to recognize this and overcome it!
I'm new to your channel but grateful to have stumbled upon it.

I'm glad you're following my channel! Thank you! I can tell when the adversary is really working on me because I enter into deep despair. It's not really depression but instead a sense of never being good enough and never being able to accomplish anything. I know when it's happening and I know the solution but it's difficult to admit to.
As far as J. Golden Kimball, after reading many of his general conference talks I would say the legend of J. Golden is greatly exaggerated. He clearly had feelings of being inadequate for the position he held and he spoke about it regularly. He did say funny things but most of them were pretty benign compared to the legends.
