Finally! I love Salome so much! They don't make them like she does! Can't wait for Epona! Salome is stunning, love the perfect balance of animalics, the florals are simply amazing and it's a chypre. perfect! Sex on the skin! Thanks for the review, Ramsey, will watch every second right now, but for sure you did this justice!
Liz Moores take of Sex of the skin indeed... she did it justice not me lol
Great perfume. However, i have the discontinued Theo Fennel edp & edt for a fraction of the price, and got mine for 10 each, box sealed... and definitely have similarities, and conjure the same mood.
Never smelled it... I am surprised you opened the box Andy... you could have left it sealed 😉
😂 True.... but it's only the 80+ yr old extraits i feel bad about opening when they've been sealed for all those year's, like an old whisky or wine. but I have a cunning plan... buy opened backups Instead 🤣
Coincidentally, I have ordered it couple hours ago today only
Ahhhh you are in for a treat! Congratulations 🥳
@@RamseytheRam Thank you
Anubis and Salome are absolute bangers ,but the entire line is worth it. That’s why Liz is definitely in my top 5 if not top 3 perfumers list for me now ! Mad excited for EPONA 😎😍
Epona is good ...can't wait to be able to talk about it 🙊
As an animalic fragrance lover, Salome pops up everywhere. No matter where you ask around for recommendations, this will be on somebody's list 8/10 times. After watching your vids I understood that we have similar tastes and this video has made me decide to go out of my way and get a bottle of Salome. It's on the way. I can't wait to sniff THE "sex on skin" fragrance. By the way, are you planning an updated video on your favourite animalics of all time? Come on... i'll get my popcorn.
Go watch my interview with Liz Moores... she very interestingly says that she kept being told of all these animalic fragrances that just didn't do it for her
So she created Salome as her version of "sex on the skin"
Do report back and let me know what you make of it
@@RamseytheRam I watched the interview. Meanwhile, Salome has arrived. I paid a painfully 190 EUR ( almost $210) for it but ...boy ohhh boy this is beautiful. It's all they say and more. Found Anubis for around $150 , thinking to blind buy it as I don't have a place to check it out. Please, please do an update on your favorite animalics. It will be a great guideline for leather, chypres, incense animalic adventurers like me. Cheers.
If you like Memoir Man you should probably love Dryad as well if you haven't smelt it already. Sort of similar vibe but different.
I have reviewed Dryad on the channel & have a bottle incoming from the Duck Den 🐏🦆
congratulations on 8k dude! you are living proof that theres still a demand and appreciation for hard work, real knowledge and passion in this community. i cant even fathom how much ive learned from your channel and how many new fragrances ive discovered. in fact i just got a bottle of rochas globe and im really, really diggin' it. thank you for all that you do man!
Thank you Sean...comments like this really lift me up 🤜🤛🏻🍸
Congrats on 8k!!! Salome is def my favourite Liz Moore creation.
Thank you so much ... here is to the next 8k 🥳
Oooooh baby, Salome is just 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼. My fave from Liz and in my top 10. Cannot wait for your interview and Epona 🐴!!!
Also, best outfit I’ve seen you in.
I can't wait to be able to discuss Epona 🐴
This shirt has gotten a lot of love and if I told you were I got it and how much I paid folks would laugh... just goes to show you don't need to spend a lot of 🍞 to put together a good outfit lol
@@RamseytheRam asos or Walmart?
Rest assured, us communists love unboxings too! Salome is so beautiful-- it kicked off my appreciation for animalic perfumes.
😳😂
Best decant vials I've seen in a while. Would love to see an impressions vid/livestream on those Bogarts. I used to have Silver Scent Intense and that sucker called in ETs from space with its grapey potency. As for the others, I'm genuinely curious what you'll have to say about them.
🤣🤣🤣
I own Silver Scent Pure and I know EXACTLY what you mean about the potency of the grape 🛸
What a glorious scent it is!
Love the shirt btw!
Thank you Paul... gearing up for vacation ⛱️
Congratulations on 8k ram I remember when u had 150 I was one I knew this was my guy the passion is the same since ur first vid maybe at 10k u can rank ur favorite Perfumers I remember u said that awhile ago would make a great vid Salome is top notch filth done right cheers 🍻
That's a great idea... thanks for being here since the beginning brother 😊
Have you done review of Victoria Secret perfumes
😂😂😂
No and I probably won't be reviewing them on the channel anytime soon
So many other niche/designer & Artisnal houses I want to discuss ahead of Victoria Secret lol
@@RamseytheRam okay but good style, someone born in 1989 enjoyed your history introduction
I appreciate your honest reviews and understanding of vintage. Francesca Bianchi Under My Skin is one of my favorites. It is such a comfort scent for me. I also love Salome, which is more of a grand oriental reminiscent of Indian incense and Tantric rituals. For me, both are not too skanky to wear in public, though maybe folks are quietly judging 😅
😂😂😂
I 100% agree... wear what you love
I still have to try something from Papillon… 😢 Now, I have to!😂
Nice one, Ramsey!
Yes you do .. everything she puts out is worthy of a bottle IMHOZ
Hahahh first laughter of day thanks to You: "everyone loves a good unboxing, and if you don't - you're a communist" :D too many of them today still unfortunately, makes you think about education/brainwashing systems, media included..but as always, great content my friend! Going strong, congratulations on 8K!! Cheers from Split, Croatia :)
🤜🤛🏻
Thanks for watching my friend 🍻

Happy to see our tribe growing
Epic content and efforts
M very appreciative to ur time and efforts for our tribe Ramsey God bless you
Thank you Hub ... thanks for being here since the beginning 🍻
I can’t tell you how long I have been waiting for this review. Salome is in my 10 favorite fragrances currently. It’s magical.
Magical is a great word for it Glitch... one of the all time greats
Thanks for watching brother
@@RamseytheRam always.
I love Salome but i find it a little bit feminine on my skin.
Are you on your "i don't care era" or you changed barber? because you used to have the sexiest haircuts 😛 I know it's irrelevant with the video but i was wondering.
Congratulations on 8k You are one of the best perfume-tubers you deserve way more subs!!!
Thank you I love Salome too
As far as the Barber goes .... I am just growing it out ATM💪🐏
Hi Ram, if you need to choose one... Pappilion or Francesca Bianca perfumes? They have the same color....😊
Papillon... hands down
"Everyone loves a good unboxing and if you don't, you're a communist" LMAO 🤣🤣🤣⚒👍👍👍
Damn commies 😝💪🐏
I’m curious if Salome can be said to be a similar scent experience to Boudoir by Vivienne Westwood? (now discontinued 😢) I get the feeling there would be similarities…
Never smelled it sorry
Thanks for watching 🍻
You took 4 minutes and 14 seconds to open a box
Thank you ⏰️
Damn Rams your getting better 😂
Hey Ram, Do you think FB Etruscan Water has some similarities with Salome?
All of FB have some similarities to Salome it feels like... but none of them are as good as Salome IMHO
I just got my and when i took it out the box it was title less the juice in the bottle. Is this normal for papillon as this is my first one
Ummm that I don't know...but it may be something do with the bottles slightly bigger than 50ml? I honestly am just guessing though
I had this back in 2018.
Time to buy it again I guess
I absolutely would buy another bottle if I finished mine 😛
But the thing is, I just tried Bal a Versailles and I liked it! It was not too animalic.
Yes Salome is more animalic than Bal a Versailles
Sorry to desagree but under my skin is far more better
That's okay I respect your opinion...I just disagree
Am i crazy for thinking it's better than diaghilev for 1/3 the money ? while being in the same ballpark
I think it has maybe 20 or 30% relation to Diaghilev...but Diaghilev is its own beast
Thanks for watching & commenting 🍻
@@RamseytheRam yeah they're not the same, more like cousins
📝
Thanks for watching & commenting 🍻
I love the opening of this video..😄😅
Thanks for watching & commenting 🙏🙏🙏
Maybe Liz needs a hot Ramen assistant… and a hot apprentice 😇
😂😂😂
Are u volunteering ?
@@RamseytheRam well I’d like to study perfume. Maybe create something one day . But yes . In code 🤣
Sounds lovely 😂.
Right up ur alley JT 😂😂😂
That shirt though.. Dope! 😎
You are like the 4th person who likes the shirt... I will say the shirt is a hit 👕
😂😂😂
Have a nice vacation 🌴🌴🏄
I love this stuff 🤌🤌🤌👌
It is so good.. maybe a reference fragrance in this category 🤌🤌🤌
Thanks for watching & commenting 🍻
I couldn’t agree more. I’ve tried Hera, Anubis, Spell 125 and Bengale rouge. They’re all beautiful, but Salome is my favorite. They’re all full bottle worthy.
To whomever finds themselves reading through the comments trying to decide if you want to take a chance and buy the fragrance- Do it. You absolutely will NOT be disappointed. I’m mad at myself for waiting so long before buying a bottle.
Solid advice 👌
I love Papillon and Salome. It does lean feminine to me but it’s so good. Can’t wait for the new release. Nice shirt btw. Thanks again!
Yeah this is a 10/10 for sure, slightly feminine leaning but I love it as a big fat bald dude lol. This made me fall in love with hyraceum it is a
Symphony of beauty. Will always have a bottle of this in my collection 🙏 for anyone that loves this I urge them to try Mandodari mandodari ( yes the duplicated name version ) it is at the same level in my opinion
I have never smelled that one but it's on the never ending to sniff list 🐽
Salome and Anubis are two more of my Ramgoggle purchases that have become prized possessions. Hindsight and Ramsight, always 20/20. 😎
My 2 favorite Papillon frags 🙂
I truly didn't Know you've made this Video Couple of Hours ago
as I mentioned the Similarities😅
It was meant to be.... it's also my SOTD 🙂
Another great review Ramsey! Anubis and Salome are at the top of my next-buy list, and I haven't sniffed them. I'll blind buy them. Really looking forward to her new release too!
Honestly for a fragrance lover I don't think there is a safer brand to blind buy than Papillon.... everything she has put out is 🔥 & full bottle worthy IMHO
I have the Rochas Monsieur EDT concentree, a 1972 splash. absolutely amazing scent
Yes I can't wait to get to know it... sounds like it is right up my alley 🎳
I prefer Under my Skin to Salome. I think the carnation is just too strong for me in the latter. But both well made, comes down to taste :)
Yeah agreed... that's all this hobby is anyways
Thanks for watching 👀
Congrats on the 8k mate. You’ve always put out great content and I’m glad people are seeing it. I remember when you were celebrating 500. Crazy how fast your channel has gone
Thanks so much for being here with us thorough our little journey Nicky 🤜🤛🏻
Ah yes a dirty little scent, but in the best possible taste , the weekend rut , I may be old but my memories are intact hahaha 🙏✌️👍
😂😂😂
Memories never die 💪🐏
This sounds interesting, it’s now on my to smell list! 8k, congrats! 🎉
Thanks so much for the support Lee 💪🐏
Ahhh, I'll take this as my reminder that Salome is on my full bottle list! ❤
A solid buy for 2024 💪🐏
Blind bought it, risky, just because of your little reviews in tops etc., and well, I must say this is probably my favorite Papillon, maybe with Tobacco Rose, and one of my favorite fragrance in my little collection (only 17 and many samples): in the beginning, I believed I was not really ready for this (I started the perfume journey since less than a year, but I think if you explore very seriously, profoundly, three or four forms of art, you feel and know what you'd like in other forms) - in fact, "amazing" is the right word, "wow" the reaction when I wore it, I learned suddenly: direct but so soft and warm, clean and filthy, really cozy in the end, harshness and calming at the same time, with a rich structure (bitterness to stickyness, with fresh floral points, a pleasure easy to wear) ; incredible (the dry down! ah! ). I'm not sure to understand it completly, not yet, but I know I love, love it. Like a lot of people here, can't wait for Epona! (money saved for it, we are ready)
(SOTD: Chypre Mousse, by Oriza Legrand, beautiful and humid forest soil, like it a lot. Your review was well targeted!)
Ahhhh Chypre Mousse is fantastic... you have some amazing frags for only 17 lol
@@RamseytheRam Thanks! Some of them, like the dear Salome (an important presence, but also already an important memory), or vintage Dali Pour Homme, are due to your reviews! (by the way, I believe in your to-do-review list, there is Cuoium, can't wait for: I found it astounding, this oily leather! Really good!)
Ah, congratulations on the 8k subs!!!😊
Thanks so much 🙏
Another one added to my list. How would you compare it against Anubis? That’s the only one I have from Pappilon.
Anubis is more resins and smokey... you will like Salome though man... Salome and Anubis are my two favs from the brand
@@RamseytheRam definitely very near to top on my list!!
Really looking forward to the next Liz Moores interview and your thoughts on the new fragrance ☺️
I can't wait either ... Liz Moores is an absolute master 🙏🙏🙏
@@RamseytheRam agreed! 👍
Hey Ramsey, any chance of taking a dive into the fragrances by Greek perfumer Theodoros Kalotinis ? I do not know if you like the coffee note, or smell of a coffee, but his "Coffee Addict" (eau de parfum) has been praised by many reviewers in here. I love that one as it has the coffee note as the main note. His "Tobacco Maniac" (extract de parfum) is also really nice.
I am willing to talk about anything on the channel... if he sends me some juice I will be glad to discuss them on the channel 🙂
@@RamseytheRam what are your favourite notes by the way ?
I Like everything...Oud , resins like Myrrh & Opoponax, Amber & Ambergris, Musk and anything animalic like Civet, Hyrax , castoreum etc...
OMG !!!! Love it sooooooooooo much 🖤 I got a 2nd bottle 🖤
Amazing review Ram every time 🫶🏼
I am so glad you love it as much as I do Allie 🫂
@@RamseytheRam All her creation is sooooooo worth having it 🖤
🤣
What a review and damnnnn that Shirt is amazing 😂😂 straight outta 80's
I am a vintage 🐏
😎😎😎
@@RamseytheRam just scored a 30ml of Tenere btw, this absolutely fits this shirt 👍 what a fragrance
Congrats! I love Tenere and it will be getting a vintage HOF review as far as I am concerned 🤌🤌🤌
Maybe ask Liz to put some clothes on this time 😂
You want her to put clothes on?! 😳
😂😂😂
You looked like you dressed for dinner and she was dressed for bed 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh yes. Lucky enough to pass the store yesterday in London .. have had a sample and couldn't not just pick this up . Breathtakingly good scent. Thanks for the review Ram 🙂
You bought this yesterday!? What timing 💪🐏
I did think FB Made in Heaven was kind of similar to Salome with the cumin connection
FB has been trying to do what Liz Moores did with Salome for years it feels like... and she never does it as well... Liz the trend setter
I finally got a notification!!! About an hour away from home. Good way to end the trip listening to the Ram
Welcome home man... thanks for watching brother 💪🐏
@@RamseytheRam always, I’m going to reach out to my Korean aunt and ask her about the cologne culture, I know you mentioned Japan as a hotspot for vintage stuff. Maybe Korea is too. But I’m sure with all the G.I.’s around there they probably already scooped up all the gold!!!
Bravissimo ragazzo🤌🏿. I agree 100%. I have both Salome and Under my skin and I can confidently say that as much as Under my skin clicks with me as a huge iris lover, Salome is the better fragrance. I blind buy it and from the first spray I was impressed with the quality of the flowers...Well done Liz! :)

I am impressed with everything I have smelled from Papillon .. amazing stuff 👏🏻
Salome is a beautiful contemporary perfume with Femme de Rochas like opening with this sweaty cumin note, Bal à Versailles heart and base florala and animalic notes. Great creation.
It is one of my all time favorite Papillon scents.. Anubis might have something to say about that though 😂😂😂
@@RamseytheRam Anubis is on my testlist. Love the name also.
