I love this ride so much, it’s best when you’re on the top row so you don’t see dangling feet 😂 Still wonderful though, I love how they blow a light breeze at you that gives off the smell of grass too. Really gives off a sense of actually flying :)

Rode this this past weekend- I will always have the original music in my heart- but the new music is also amazing and I’m glad they kept the theme. The majestic music with the trumpets with the Paris nightlife brought me to tears!
My wife & I went to DL/CA in March with our daughter and her family, and I made a point of riding Soarin', although none of us realized it had been changed to Soarin' the WORLD. Didn't matter. It blew our socks off. We were fortunate enough to get in the front row of seats so we got the full effect without people's shoes in the way. The I-MAX projection, while not 3D, certainly gives the effect of 3D, and live, like you're there. No chop in the projection, no fuzz or blurriness. Just spellbinding tech. Glad I finally got to experience it and would do it again in a New York minute. Had to laugh at my wife though; she'S 70, has vertigo and doesn't do well with movement. Before the ride started she asked me what we'd be doing, I told her we were going hang-gliding FAR, FAR up in the sky and over open water. She FREAKED, as I knew she would. I was like, "Too late; enjoy the ride!" She had a death grip on my arm until we "launched," but then she was immediately entranced by the "flight" and what was projected in front of her. She was so excited after it was over she wanted to go again LOL.
@@mstrmren its not even on the camera, I think its because of the shape of the screen because it seems to only happen on the end chairs. On the middle ones, the bending is much less extreme
I like this better than Over California, but that warping (especially of the Eiffel Tower) is absolutely horrendous. To fully enjoy this new ride you have to sit right in the middle, and that’s a damn shame
Brock Drozeski it would be cool if they could show both shows. Then the guest can choose which they want to do. I think soarin around the world looks cool. But Iv only done the original soarin. I haven't been to WDW in a while but someday when I go back the new soarin is on my list. Do they still have smells. Like the sea salt and oranges and pine tree smells etc.?
I think Disney flopped with this one regarding DCA soarin over ca should have stayed with soarin over the world at Disney world. Some of the cut scenes are horrendous.

The new film looks pretty nice, just wish there were more low fast flying sections like the original, plus the warping looks pretty bad. Anyway I'll make a proper judgement for myself when I visit next year.
Since the park is called Disney California Adventure, they should come out with a Soarin type ride that focuses just on the State of California. That would be cool if they did that.
OMG I rode this at DCA today. The cinematography and the musical score are both breathtaking. Especially the Great Wall of China. A worthy successor to Soarin' Over California indeed.

at 2:48 why did they do that the idea was supposed to have us feel like we are actually soring at that part it just felt like a documentary or just viewing different places on screen... and that isnt what Sorin is about....
The og had sooooo many better bits. I don't know how easy it is to tell for other people, but definitely for me I know for a fact that almost every single different place in this version is a CGI mess (IE completely fake). The og had real live video and it moved around a lot, this one is slow moving you're basically just sitting there watching a video, I can recall forgetting that I was in a ride that was supposed to be able to move when I was riding this version lol- Who WANTS to smell dirt and elephants??? The old one you smelled oranges and an ocean breeze type. Also the old one had classic transitions and funny bits. Like a bunch of people on kayaks and one of them was waving, and the back chills I got from seeing the jets fly across OMG I MISS IT
Plus they only did this, because the rest of the world bitched about not being included in their park enough.... The world is so overly sensitive about everything now it infuriates me.

The CGI is really bad. Inferior version to Soarin Over California, and California is infinitely more interesting.
