The ride honestly seems very underwhelming. Seems kinda cheap and you can tell they really want you to spend that extra $70 for the web shooter for cooler animations, more score, etc. Amazing Adventures of Spiderman at Islands of Adventure is a way better Spiderman ride....and that opened 22 years ago lol
I’m also disappointed that they only added one ride to avengers campus. A doctor strange ride where your doing magic or a Antman ride would be really cool.

@Paul George Making-money is what made Disney good to begin with, but it was always focused on long-term goals in the past. Now, they seem set on short-term money-making, and it's going to make customers upset and spend their money elsewhere. What has made disney the most money lately at theme parks? Galaxy's Edge and Pandora. Those are not coincidentally the most expensive and ambitious things Disney has done in the parks. They just are going to generate more money from these than they ever will from a cheap ride like Webslingers. Avengers campus is cheap and lacking, and Disney would have made more money had they put more of a budget and effort into it.

Finally, a ride for all of us who rode Toy Story Mania and thought, “if only this had more chance of getting hit in the face by a stranger’s flailing arms!”
I have to say there is a ride like this in legoland, and I have never gotten hit one day I got to ride it like 10 or more times in a row and two times there was a long wait, and I never heard that anyone has gotten hit and I have never got hit on the ride.
Went on this ride today but I used my fist instead of the iconic fingers. Because I wish I could have asked to get a Venom sweater for Christmas before coming to Disney California adventure. But I wish they should edit these scenes by putting some bad guys instead of some spider slayers.
I gotta admit, I dislike this for two big reasons: 1. I actually don’t WANT all the rides to be interactive like video games. I want to be able to sit back and enjoy the immersive experience and the visuals of the environment, not constantly feel like I’m being forced to participate so much that I can barely focus on everything around me. 2. There are few things more underwhelming than a “ride” that’s literally just a moving car that takes you from one 3D screen to another, and makes barely any effort to integrate them into the real setting. I think back to the 3D Spider-Man ride at Universal Studios - and how much care and artistry they put into merging the screens with the ride’s movement - and this just seems even sadder and less impressive.
For as long as they had to build this ... it should have been an amazing dark ride with multiple animatronics and an entire setting of NYC streets and alleyways. I'm getting very snooze fest over all these rides with screens. It's just a vamped up midway mania.

Honestly, the whole land screams this. Like yeah it’s great but this ride could so easily be re-skinned and completely redone. This wouldn’t be that big of an issue if the whole land wasn’t like this. Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout could be redone since 90% of it is just screens. The new Avengers ride will be like Soarin’ so that will be easily replaced. Every single ride in the new land relies almost completely on screens so they could make the entire land a new theme and it wouldn’t be hard in the slightest.
Disney Land 50 years ago: What if we recreate fan favourite movie in real world with physical props and robot? Disney Land now: Video game with 3D screen and DLC
Thanks for posting this so I can be disappointed at this new ride without having to wait like 50 minutes standing in line and then saying I can’t believe I waited so long for this underwhelming new ride.
I don’t like the idea of sitting next to a stranger & having to swing my arms for smaller parties of 2. This is underwhelming for a new Disney attraction
The arm slinging looks like a fun alternative to the guns they use on Astro blasters and toy story mania, but there isn’t much else that’s unique about this ride.definitely underwhelming for sure with more than one of this style ride already in the parks.
i tried it out today, and trust me, it feels great. the webs are shockingly accurate with ur hands, the sound design is loud and immersive, and the length makes it feel worth the wait. the only thing that kinda sucks is that your arms getting extremely tired after each section, which makes it a little less inclusive for elderly people. but overall, its awesome!
only positive comment ive seen and i'm waiting to get on the ride haha. wasn't the best idea to read comments since im not much of a ride enthusiast in the first place. good to know though :]
Damn I was hoping for some animatronics. A few spots with physical things you could shoot would’ve made you feel like you’re actually part of the action.
From this angle, without reticules or lasers it's impossible to tell what, if any, effect the player movement is having. I wonder how accurate the tracking is.
Oh great, more of that kind of 3D. Like I needed to give myself any more motion sickness headaches. Yeah, I think I’ll stay back at the hotel and lay out next to the pool.
I had imagined (what I believe) is a better type of Spider-Man ride for Disney. I wanted to see a suspended ride that moves on 2 rails with a 3rd upper rail that controls left/right swinging motion. Have the ride vehicle swing in, out, and around real building sets with video screens and you’d have a fun ride with “flying” type motion.
They could just use one of those powered rail coasters that have come into development lately. There's an Arthur The Ride in the UK that uses a lot of animatronics for example.
@@xviper2k false, this is not an e ticket attraction just like with Star Wars land that one has yet to open up, this is more like the millennium falcon ride which while not the main attraction is still pretty fun just like this ride.
There's a worse one in Dubai that's even more expensive. They built a Ghostbusters ride that's very similar to this, except they wasted a trackless ride system on it, too.
Wow, this makes the Peter Pan ride seem super exciting. How unfortunate. But why am I not surprised? When I went to galaxys edge in DL, it was empty. Nobody cares about it. Disney has no standards for the new stuff
@@kiwikiwi2483 true but that ride makes you feel like you’re in the world of Spider-Man. It’s immersive, spooky at times and exciting. This is just moving from screen to screen aiming your arms at virtual robots and winning. Basically a video game irl lmao

@@kiwikiwi2483 not saying Disney rides are bad lol. They definitely have impressive and fun rides. I’m just saying how a 20 year old ride is better than a brand new, Disney ride. And how they reused the idea of toy story mania or something in this ride lol
Thank you for the video, I now know not to even waste my time on this what ever you want to call it. Definitely not a ride to me. Unfortunately Disneyland seems to be going downhill and that is so sad to see.
Disney's too stubborn for that. But they may fast-track the development of a replacement, as Universal has done with the Tonight Show and Fast & Furious attractions.
Alot of people here are judging a ride by watching a video on their phone screen of a ride that utilizes really good 3D screens. Like you can't judge this ride if you haven't been on it physically. This ride is so much fun for what it is and once your in that ride vehicle and start shooting webs you become fully immersed into the ride and invested. And it's so much fun if you ride with a friend or family group and work together.
ive ridden it. the judgements people are making are correct. it's easily the worst ride ive ever been on. it makes the fast and the furious ride look like an actually trip to the moon.
Oh wow....well I must give the win to universal on this one. They have an older and better Spider-Man attraction. It looks cool but poor physical set design and to many screens with poor integration. A slow ride for our fast web slinging friend is a little disappointing.
@@Emike-nc9ew well for dark rides, nothing beats physical sets with good animatronics and effects. If you going to use screens, use them sparingly and in complement to the scenes.
So in the Universal ride, you had a wide selection of villains featuring, Doc Ock, Electro, Hydro-Man, Scream and Hobgoblin. While with the Disney ride… you have… spider drones… I’m shivering in fear.
I feel like this is already the worst Disney attraction since DCA 1.0. Basically you sit in a car and wave your arms at a video game, while the person you just accidentally smacked in the face may or may not be a complete stranger. What an utter train wreck.
Y'know what? I feel bad for you annoying Universal elitists enough, just leave me alone -_- Besides, the only thing I liked about Universal was their Transformers ride, screw everything else about it. I'll only regain my respect to Universal again unless they put Dragon Ball and One Piece attractions like how Universal Japan did.
My first trip to California Adventure a few days before Halloween 2022 and this was my first ride. Glad I didn't read read any of reviews before hand or I probably would've skipped it. I HAD SO MUCH FUN even though I totally failed😂😂😂. I think I may have shot Spiderman😮. I enjoyed interacting with the ride.
The idea is cute and nice, but it looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen, what with them encouraging everyone to flail around. Someone's gonna get hurt. 😂 Also, I'm disappointed that there isn't an actual story or an interactive queue for this ride. 🤕
Reminds me of the kraken at knott”s berry farm, but w/o the mellow laid back charm. Others can go for these audience participation rides I don’t. They seem like going to a concert where the singer wants you to sing along.
This just looks fun. Seriously, why all the negative "critique" here folks. Give Disney some serious credit here developing a new experience for the masses. Its about building "experiences" people will have, right in line w/ ol' Uncle Walt and his ever evolving vision for the park(s). I suspect if some of you had your ways, we'd still be stuck w/ Mission To Mars or Captain EO...
Problem is, I know Disney nowadays can do better like Rise of the Resistance, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, and Flight of Passage. This is just a ride where you get stuffed into a box, play a Kinect game and move awkwardly to another one for 3 minutes.
What makes it even worse is that Universal Orlando just launched the Velocicoaster as their new ride. OMG... it's quite possibly the best roller coaster on the planet.
Wow! Now both Universal Orlando and Disneyland have a Spiderman ride, even though judging by this pov I still prefer Islands of Adventure’s version considering it’s an sctually thrilling simulator ride while this is just an interactive type of thing. No offense Disney but I think you could have been better.
Damn Disney really had us hype for avengers campus and this is wht we got 🙄Disney I'm high shocked how did y'all make mickey and Minnie's runaway railway so good and unique and give us this as well I'm not understanding 😞💔 Edit: When I go imma jus use this ride as a way to get out of the heat 🤣
runaway railway is a disgrace compared to what it replaced (the great movie ride). all it is, is grey walls being projected onto. that's barely a step up from being all screens.
I really don't how I feel about this. Despite it being another video game format, it's lame how they did this ride in that it's a reskinned version of Toy Story Mania. In one sense, pretty well developed the scenes, but I don't want to keep spamming my fists on a screen with no feedback. If I wanted to play like that, I'd go to an arcade.
it's actually a reskinned Ninjago ride at legoland. which is even worse. they purchased it from the company that makes that ride, and rethemed it to spiderman.
After NWH, they had so much potential to make this ride the best ride of all time, but instead Disney chose to make a re theme of a ninjago shooting dark ride at legoland! I think I can speak for everyone when I say they should have waited for a 2022 opening and themed it to NWH.
don't waste your time. i've never been more disappointed in my entire life. spiderman is easily the worst ride ive ever been on. the avengers stunt show is the least convincing stunt show i've ever tried to see (your view is partially obstructed no matter where you stand). and the Dr. Strange show is about as good as a guy pulling quarters out from behind your ear.

This ride screams "easy to reskin in 5-10 years when superheroes aren't popular anymore"
Which is a REALLY bad idea considering that Spider-Man has been popular longer than Star Wars has been around
@@mariomouse8265 heh? XD
Super hero’s will never not be popular, people that grew up with them are still alive and they pass on that love to their children.
@@Defender_messenger Remember that Spider-Man has been around since 1962.
Older than Pirates of the Caribbean! Older than Star Wars! Older than Pixar!

I get it but at the same time you can rly tell they couldn’t do much with how little space they had ://///
@M Livehd universal has been way more detailed with theming and animatronics since 2018. I think they learned thier lesson about screen rides haha

Spiderman ride from IOA came out *25 YEARS AGO* and it looks better than this

This is hardly a ride. I've played games on my Switch that were more immersive.
A mini game collection with Kinect lol

Super Mario odyssey, TLOZ: Breath of the wild, and way more! But these are just Nintendo games of course
@@Jaxsen522 yup. I got a switch.... you too. I guess. And this is also coming to France , here in Europe. Meh

I wouldn’t mind sitting next to a stranger on a ride it wouldn’t be fun riding by yourself just my opinion lol
Especially a full grown man next to you behaving like that I thought he was a special needs person I first.

YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS RIDE AND AVENGERS CAMPUS SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!
i tried it out today, and trust me, it feels great. the webs are shockingly accurate with ur hands, the sound design is loud and immersive, and the length makes it feel worth the wait. the only thing that kinda sucks is that your arms getting extremely tired after each section, which makes it a little less inclusive for elderly people. but overall, its awesome!
only positive comment ive seen and i'm waiting to get on the ride haha. wasn't the best idea to read comments since im not much of a ride enthusiast in the first place. good to know though :]

The buzz lightyear ride does that but its still lame it just becomes looking at stuff like its a musuem
You know Disney is really bringing their A game when Superstar Limo technically had more ambitious set design and more animated figures.
To be honest, riding through the car wash is more fun and immersive than this.
This is just "Toy Sto-er Spiderman Mania" lol. The Spiderman ride at Universal Orlando is lightyears beyond this and it's like 20 years old.

Oh Spiderman at Universal is at another level

thanks for letting us borrow ur 3D glasses
The really old one in Orlando is waaay better. This one I didn't even finish, just screenz ~ thnx for saving us the wait!
From this angle, without reticules or lasers it's impossible to tell what, if any, effect the player movement is having. I wonder how accurate the tracking is.
Did it yesterday. It’s pretty accurate.
@Daisy Landis agreed
I did it a few hours ago it's like pin point
that moment you realize universal put more work into the Life of Pets ride than Disney did for their new spider man ride
Universal realizing Disney lost their touch and encroaching on their trademark classic dark rides. I'm all for it.
oh my gawd that looks exhausting...
Oh it is WAAY too much to ask Chapek for ground breaking new rides Just look at his HIDEOUS idea for Spaceship earth
A 3rd rail would be stupid because you can achieve the motion your talking about with 2 rails and banking
They could just use one of those powered rail coasters that have come into development lately. There's an Arthur The Ride in the UK that uses a lot of animatronics for example.
Disney attractions recently have lost their quality. This looks like something from an arcade.
Rise of the Resistance?

Yes those side road mock offs attractions that you pay $5 bucks to ride. That ones that stands right close to walgreens
@@Myst031 That's more the exception than the norm.
@@xviper2k false, this is not an e ticket attraction just like with Star Wars land that one has yet to open up, this is more like the millennium falcon ride which while not the main attraction is still pretty fun just like this ride.
That’s it? Underwhelming for sure. Universal Orlando’s Spiderman ride has nothing to worry about.
Lol it's better because tom holland isn't present in it lol.
If he was? It'd be bad like this one lol.
That ride will forever be remembered when this ride will die after 5 years or so
A huuuuge missed opportunity. The most boring dark ride I've witnessed to date.
There's a worse one in Dubai that's even more expensive. They built a Ghostbusters ride that's very similar to this, except they wasted a trackless ride system on it, too.
it isn't a dark ride. learn the proper terminology then comment.
OH MAH GAH IT NOT THE ONLY RIDE THERE! STOP WITH THE WHINING! GOSH!
Wow, this makes the Peter Pan ride seem super exciting. How unfortunate. But why am I not surprised? When I went to galaxys edge in DL, it was empty. Nobody cares about it. Disney has no standards for the new stuff

This ride blows. The one at universal studios in Orlando still one of the best rides ever.
Uhh, the spider man ride at IOA is also just screens and a moving vehicle lmfao. Universal Fanboys are stupid

Toy story mania for us in Florida too

Disney's too stubborn for that. But they may fast-track the development of a replacement, as Universal has done with the Tonight Show and Fast & Furious attractions.
@@HigherQualityUploads you are correct
Alot of people here are judging a ride by watching a video on their phone screen of a ride that utilizes really good 3D screens. Like you can't judge this ride if you haven't been on it physically. And it's so much fun if you ride with a friend or family group and work together.
I have been on it " physically"...just got back tonight...and I didn't like at all. Same thing as toy story...

Looks like the imagineers phoned it in.
literally. this is a ride purchased from Triotech which makes the ninjago ride for legoland. it is simply reskinned to spiderman.
I would have been pissed if I waited an hour or more for this. Glad I saw this first.
At last a ride that looks like the riders are giving the attraction the finger.
The idea is cute and nice, but it looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen, what with them encouraging everyone to flail around. Someone's gonna get hurt. 😂
Also, I'm disappointed that there isn't an actual story or an interactive queue for this ride. 🤕
So boring, and it is barely themed to Spider-Man. I'd rather play Area 51 in an arcade.
Yep.
I'd rather play Mad Dog McCree on Sega CD than ride this.
Reminds me of the kraken at knott”s berry farm, but w/o the mellow laid back charm. Others can go for these audience participation rides I don’t. They seem like going to a concert where the singer wants you to sing along.
Amazing video, Attractions 360. I am amazingly, greatly, happily proud of you, Attractions 360. And you’re welcome, as well, too.
