Garrett seems like the kind of guy that has a lot of weird anecdotes and obscure hobbies and informed opinions that would make him fun to talk to for hours
Has anyone just now realised that Shane hinted at the shortney marriage at 56:22, when Garrett went in about the coffee group, saying he was out of town… lol had no idea that was the case but now it all makes sense
They film these beforehand so considering the marriage happened on the 30th of March and this was released on March 18th, I'm thinking he was out of town for a whole different reason.
Did we just casually move past Amanda also not knowing about 2012?? Like that was just on the news all the time .. She absolutely spawned in during the pandemic and can't be real
Every time I see Amanda’s timer on her watch I make up a scenario for whatever needs to happen in 10 minutes. Medication, check in for a flight, a bomb she needs to diffuse? The list is endless
36:11 I met Alan Tudyk at a convention one time, and being a fan of basically everything he has done, I chatted him up about a recent appearance he had made on a tv show I liked. He was so jazzed to talk about something not Firefly, and we legit talked for like five minutes about this character that only appeared for like 20 minutes in a single episode.

Yay Garrett! I met you a few weeks back outside UCB. Honestly it was really nice of you to talk real quick to a fan when you were out with your friends so thanks for being awesome! "Bring back the food stuff!"
Man, Garrett seems like the kind of guy who has a story for every situation, yet still somehow remains completely humble about it all. He's lived a very interesting life!
If the universe has a sense of humor, Shayne will finally join Garrett's coffee group on the day they drink kopi luwak & they don't tell him how it's made until after he drinks it
An episode with Garrett was a great way to get some EIOYI closure. I personally felt like the out of no where last episode was like a break up I didn't see coming. This was the talk weeks later giving me closure lol 😂

Someone who is Croatian here, we have a lot of vegetable dishes. It's sad to hear that Garrett couldn't find anything bc we have many versatile dishes. Lot of soups, there's kupus tjesto, sataraš (makes a great shakshuka style meal if you add egg), salads, pickled veg to have with some fresh bread and eggs etc. Could depend on the region he was in too though, because a lot of those are more accessible away from the coasts iirc
48:28 the reason you can eat raw eggs in Japan (and other places) is bc those places innoculate their chickens against E.coli so they're less likely to make u sick and can be stored at room temperature. You cant do this in the USA (and other places) because those countries have chosen to refrigerate eggs rather than innoculate egg layers. Both options are valid and come with different benefits and draw backs.

This was great! I kept looking for this because Shayne had mentioned in last weeks episode talking to Garrett. Amanda doesn't listen because Shayne said he didn't think he had ever gotten bitrex & then thats what she guessed as his least favourite? Ice cream is the best for after hot peppers. It's high in fat, so it coats really well, the dairy properties help extinguish the heat, the cold temperature also soothes. I discovered this on my own, since I dislike most dairy items, but I think Alton Brown brought ice cream when he did Hot Ones because it works better than drinking something.
39:46 - it has been a lifelong dream of mine to travel to Lebanon. My grandfather was Lebanese. It sadly isn't very accessible right now due to the country being in an extreme economic crisis and the government not really functioning
