It is actually insane to hear Amanda’s reaction to Harambe. It’s like I was sent back to 2016. Literally everything she said was word-for-word what you would’ve heard at the time.

There is now a statue of Harambe in the Cincinnati zoo, right after Harambe died I went to visit my grandmother in Cincinnati and she was so upset she wouldn't let us talk about it.
Not mentioning “Show with no name” is criminal! It was one the only shows from back then where the cast felt like a more genuine version of themselves and got to tell personal stories. Some of my favorite moments come from that show like Shayne and Noah roasting Keith’s baby name.
They should have a PT II of this theme with Chance and/or Angela as a guest

I think Amanda is from a different universe. We all know that Harambe's death was our timelines nexus event that sent us down the dark timeline. I think Amanda used to live in a different universe where they tranquilize Harambe, the kid lives and the story dies after a day. At some point since then Amanda shifted into our universe and it's so similar that she didn't realize it.
I would absolutely be down for some more Summer Games. That way I can stop rewatching the old ones when I need a comfort giggle.

I love this episode so much! I thoroughly enjoyed hearing shayne going through the history of of Smosh Pit, it brought back so much nostalgia.
Just found this podcast, probably my favorite piece of online content. Shayne and Amanda play so perfectly off each other, it has this very friendly, welcoming vibe (I know that’s weird to say about an online podcasts but sometimes the vibes are bad!!) and Shayne is super engaging as a host/storyteller. Feels fun and natural. Enormous fan, thank you for making these ❤

Here's an idea, Smosh Summer games: Battle of the Eras. 3 or 4 teams, each with different smosh cast members from the different phases of smosh, like og members like Ian Anthony and Mari, vs the Squad, vs the new cast in a month of challenges just like the other summer games. Also bring back older shows for one off episodes for the entire month. It's literal gold. Introduces newer fans and hit that nostalgia itch for the older fans

The old era will always have a special place in my heart but I do love how SMOSH has grown. I remember loving each and every show and being so excited every time you posted. Now it’s still the same, but it feels like it’s all grown with time.
Smosh Squad ran so the rest of the cast could walk. No one else has the right to downplay them. Kudos to those five for really tanking through Defy's BS.

i hopped onto the smosh train during the 2019 upswing of tntl when the Try Guys were guests. i was SO sad when the Smoshcast ended, and I was ecstatic to hear the pod was coming back. so happy to have been a part of the journey.

cause like, this looks SO fun to do sometimes, especially for those who have done it for so long that they are used to it and they already know what tickles people quickly. but whenever I see someone rather new come on TNTL I always think "how are they not simply terrified..." Smosh summer/winter games are some of my favourite videos. The birth of 'munge' has stuck with me for a long time. I really hope that we get another summer/winter games at some point, especially if the og games crew comes back for a bit.

25...Feeling like 17 year old Tumblr Girlie. Mad nostalgia and FOMO for a time I did not really engage with the zeitgeist. The virus and college just *ate* those years up. But I try to get in touch with this age again and allow myself the fun and experience I missed - at least I will try to. 30s are the new 20s honestly.

I watched before Mari came... then life happened and I was out and about. I was a huge GMM fan when they bought Smosh and that's what brought me back to the channel. A lot had changed since the old mini cassette videos... then Anthony came back and I was so happy to witness that in real time 💕

also, Shayne bringing up the fact that it seems like fans dont really bring up old smosh content made me feel some bittersweet feelings. i know for me personally, the content isn’t the same watching it with all that i know now. i can FEEL the defy era weight through the screen
