    Greetings from Myanmar! Your reviews are the best as always. Kudos to your work. I have been your biggest fan and your variety of reviews did help me a lot in order to study at the dream country. I have been waiting for the study permit approval and it has been 12 weeks already now which applied through regular stream. I am keeping my finger-crossed to get it fast. :)
    My question is some students here are now applying for the study permit through new portal. If you have details of differences between GC Keys portal and new portal, and Filipino students are also experiencing this, I would be more than grateful to you to know of your reviews regarding this. Or if you have already reviewed this, kindly navigate me to your video. THANK YOU!

    Answering your question about legal resident according to what I read on IRCC website;
    " Who isn’t eligible for the Student Direct Stream"
    If you live anywhere other than 1 of the countries listed above (even if you’re a citizen of one of the countries above), you must apply through the regular study permit application process.
    If you live in another country (even if you’re a citizen of one of the countries above), or if you don’t meet the eligibility for faster processing, you may still be eligible for a study permit through the regular study permit application process.

    Rachel, may I suggest that you create an episode specific to SDS approval timeline & common reasons for rejections for PH applicants? I surmise most of your subscribers are aspiring international students from the Philipines, and a lot of them for certain would be highly interested to know what to expect, what to do, and what to avoid in order to increase their chances of approval.
    The trend of rejection from PH is disturbingly increasing. This is sad and could affect future applications.

    Hi Rachel, thank you for the great quality content! A question on SDS requirements: Are the proof of 1-year tuition payment and GIC with CAD 10,200 (inc. bank fees) already sufficient as "proof of funds" for SDS, or are additional proofs of funds still necessary?

    • @rrdancel
      @rrdancel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s an excellent question! Generally, it’s better to have more funds. As a safe bet, have at least 50% of your totally tuition and living expenses prepared for the FULL duration of your stay in Canada 😊

Planning to apply for a study permit for my master's, I just wanted to ask if you think, I would need a police clearance from the US (I studied there back in 1998-2001), before I moved back to the Philippines and lived here ever since? Or an NBI clearance would be enough?

      Just to clarify, if you’re applying under SDS - it’s only IELTS or TEF that is accepted as proof of English proficiency to qualify under that program!
      If you were applying for the regular studypermit stream, you need a letter of acceptance - with some schools requiring proof of language proficiency as part of the academic requirements. Each school has their own accepted language test scores, with Duolingo possibly being one of them. Still, you’d have to double check with your chores in school and program.. 😊♥️

    I personally applied through the regular stream and got my approval after 2 weeks (applied March 1, approved March 14)! Sometimes, luck just slaps you in the face lol
    (edit) To add, my friend applied via SDS in February and still hasn't heard back. So it's weird, we don't understand why I got approved so fast either. My friend has a GIC and paid a full year's tuition already while I only showed bank statements and other proof of funds. I also hadn't paid my full 1st sem tuition yet at the time of application. The processing time on the website seems unreliable based on our experience.
