Everyone can be deserving. But not everyone is entitled or eligible.
exactly. i wish those people who put up tents, camping for more than 100 days in protest.. can watch this
5:40 “Procrastinating on applying for Canadian citizenship” is itself another big mistake. If you’re in Canada, take all the rights, privileges and responsibilities of a Canadian resident by becoming a Canadian Citizen. Permanent residents are still restricted from fully entering restricted jobs exclusively for Canadian citizens and are still deportable. I don’t see any reason for the delay.
Oh absolutely agree! I’m just wanting to make sure my application is correct and so i prefer to double check the info than hastily submitting it :) But i see your point!

t’s insane to encourage students to come to Canada when there is no where for them to live.
@paulissar1036 there is plenty of places to live...affordability is another issue
There's been many changes in the rules of Canadian immigration, even for Australia and New Zealand so it's disheartening especially that it's always been a goal of mine to settle abroad, particularly in Canada. Due to all these changes, I decided to take a break in researching about it since it didn't help me mentally
It's not disheartening. The country have rules. You can go somewhere else. Canada don't owe you anything
EVEN IN U.K...... meanwhile America is busy for presidential election this November.....it will follow soon... the world is changing........

I just wanted to say a few things about my experience in here, in case it helps to anyone. I studied Computer Science in a college in Vancouver, 2 years program that would get you the 3 years PGWP. In the end, the school ended up being way less than what I expected, the education is mediocre as well as the teachers and the chances of landing any decent job that would help after graduation on the Industry that I planned to specialize in is almost nearly impossible. The chances of getting a good job are just very slim without having a masters in something (which means chances are even smaller if you did just a college). I've really enjoyed my time here in Vancouver as it is a beautiful city and place to live, but the chances of staying here in a permanent basis are just absurd for people that want to start or follow a similar path as mine. The only thing i have left to say is good luck to anyone who is in a similar situation and hoping all the best for you and your future plans, as times are really tough now.
Where did you study? my boyfriend is thinking about studying computer science
A two-year computer program at a community college has zero chance of landing a job in Canada. Employers are looking for graduates from top universities like the University of Toronto or Waterloo. Most students enrolled in this two-year program are international students, and most of them end up working in factories after completing the program.
It is a shame that you got scammed by the college
@@meekopal2369 those arent community colleges, they are diploma mills
@@meekopal2369 We don't really have factories here in Canada.
The only way somebody can even think closely to come to Canada and reach the PR are three main things that, as said in the video, all are going to follow anyway by the time they reach the eligibility:
- Come to Canada with a Master Degree
-Come to Canada with experience from back home
-Knowledge and certification of French
Without these, and we are already at this point, CEC general draws are not an option any more.

Firstly I’ve been watching your channel since its inception and even started my own so thank you for all of your great content! Secondly your advice made my process to PR a bit more bearable as it was great to see someone going through the same process. Now for the harsh realities…it’s bad right now and I feel for anyone trying to start over in Canada without any friends or family. If you have a decent life I highly advise you just visit and gather as much info as possible. I would not advise someone to spend their life’s savings to start over in Canada unless you’re running from a bad situation. Rent is high and salaries are very low.

You have such a calming way, vibes and aura of rolling out the facts, I must say!
Things aren’t looking bright if you’re trying to plan a PR pathway. Canadians have come around to understanding all the loopholes that various folks have been exploiting to gain residency. This coupled with a breakdown in the social contract b/w the government and the electorate has made locals very suspicious of the entire program. To add to that cost of living, no jobs, housing crisis has meant that the government is slowly steering itself from being pro immigration to selective immigration. I expect the number of TRs entering the country in 2025 to be 30-40% of what they were in 2023. We’ll see hundreds of thousands of people who don’t qualify for PR and may become illegal or go home, with a huge acceleration in 2025-2026 onwards. For anyone entering, be extremely careful and do A LOT of research.
Well said , the social crisis this program is about to unleash hasn't played out yet .It was so reckless of the government to look the other way for so long when they knew what was going on with this program whose goal was human trafficking than education.
Agree
You made a point I feel like you should make a video just to itereate that again for all to hear. "Canada does not owe anyone anything beyond the the education one pays for, that being said, you don't have to feel entitled to anything, worse comparing or competing with natives of the land". Thank you @rrdancel for exposing this hard truth.
Recalling the group of international students in Brampton with a long list of demands acting they are entitled to them, that Canada owes them.
Masters degree is a must if you want to have high chance of getting Pr. Especially if you can manage to get masters degree in canada in business, engineering it any other good fields your life is pretty much set.
Is masters in sustainable leisure management good
@@satyenrai5275 opportunities in this field is less. As Job in canada in this sector are less demanding. And masters degree has to be obtained from a reputable recognized universities. The most demanding areas in canada and easy to get pr is Health care, Agriculture, IT, Engineering, Business and Transportation. This are the top careers in canada right now to get pr.
Nursing ...severe need..high wages...overtime hours
I'm Canadian. The job market is tight in Canada right now and even Canadians are having trouble getting jobs in many fields. You have very good English and I think that helped you a lot to get your job after graduation. Good English and/or French is essential. In Quebec, you absolutely have to have good French. Do not go to a private college, rather go to a Government supported college or university. Where you go is important in terms of getting jobs. Come to visit in the winter so you see how you find it before trying to make a permanent move.
These are really helpful tips, thank you for sharing! 🙏
If you're coming to canada with your spouse, get your spouse to work in trades or construction. that guarantees your PR
How to get PR for those who work in trades ? Through PNP ?
@@aryankud191 Skilled Worker - construction (BC PNP)
If you are doing something like engineering, tech, health, or something related to those things. It may be worth it and you have chances.
I would say that if you do something else, most likely you will waste your money IF your objective is just the PR.
IT WON'T be a waste if you just want to increase your employability in your own country.
WHY do I say this? because there are serious "rumors" (not rumors actually, there are official government documents) that suggest they will limit the PGWP to only certain programs related to labour market shortage.
Also, this is debatable, but i keep hearing comments trashing Canadian education from colleges (main target for international students because they just care about the PR). Under local opinions, colleges are just a transition for a more serious degree, and most colleges are giving a low quality education with some exceptions. This opinion is shared within the industry.
So, your investment in education won't be a waste if:
- You come to study here a program related to the labour market shortage (most likely tech industry).
- You come to study here for a Master Degree or a PHD at a respectable University (most likely these degrees will be exempt with the PGWP limitations).
- You come to study here at any program in a respectable education institution (college/University) with the objective to go back home for a better job.
Recently there has been lots of changes and more to come. NOthing is secured.
Last advice, stay away from cheap MBAs programs.
Hi, What do you mean by" stay away from cheap MBA programs", it's like this major is meaningless or not?

International Student Program was never meant to be a pathway to Permanent Residency. Marc Miller Immigration Minister Canada.

that’s right but like so many other temporary programs, it CAN offer a pathway to PR (dual intent)
I think this shld be stressed first. From what I’ve been watching from all these vlogs, everyone applied for Intl Student to be a PR and most of them thinks it’s a sure thing.
it's a stepping stone actually.
@@jpx9900 Not really. I would say it's a lottery ticket. Most PR slots continue to be filled by applicants residing abroad, not from Canada's NPR population.
What about those students who came in 2020? We had no idea about this that time and we came according to the old law. So, its not our fault.
PR was never ever guaranteed for students , you should have done some research before taking a big step of coming to study abroad and spending a lot of money
The thing is, it is challenging to find a qualified job to get those points or qualify for a PNP. I had remote jobs (US, also from other countries) before coming to Canada and while studying here.
I have been looking for a Canadian job and no success in 6 months. If I didn't have the skills, I could understand. But why are American companies (and elsewhere) willing to hire me, but all that I get offered in Canada are contracts that do not contribute to the PR? I will likely stop applying, get a job abroad again, and leave when the PGWP expires. I don't see the benefit of getting PR with low employment, no job security, lower wages and higher taxes.
Both Canada and US outsource their jobs to third world countries
Thanks for the video!
My partner’s graduating next week in BCIT and we are working on our PGWP and OWP extension. Can you make a video about it next cause I’m seeing a lot of confusion about it too? 😊
Hi, don't know if this helps but I'm the same situation and have figured out some important things from an immigrant consultor's channel. The important things is that if the international student don't have a job offer lined up that they can demonstrate in the application to the PGWP, the spouse OWP cannot be extended in the same application (in this case it will expire eventually in the date it says). But, when the student gets a job after graduation, the partner can apply too only that it would on a different moment. To sum up, the OWP extension is contingent on the person with the PGWP getting an actual job (it can be in any NOC for the purpose of extending the partner's permit).
Should you consider what province you go to srudy in before moving to Canada?
the way to go for international student is to study information technology and in the field of medcine for 2 years with a diploma that has an option to continue bachelors degree,my daughter just graduate this june and get PGWP for 3 years 2 weeks after graduating..

If engineering masters, no if you had k-10 background as they deem it a 2-3 year diploma. Need to upgrade your undergraduate degree first. Career in Marketing Communications is not in need in job market and not having English as first language or Canadian big barrier. We see so many in general that have poor English skills or very strong accent that makes jobs difficult in an already challenging and competitive job market. Those coming for school and education should not be seeking PR it's for education. Schools should not be tied in with immigration at all. They are here to study that's it. If they have the needed skills which are being Doctors or skilled trades ie electricians and plummers and mechanics then the route is express entry for jobs and possibly PR otherwise you will find there is not the jobs and there is definitely not the housing so with changing times and unemployment rising Canadians refuse to see more Canadians going homeless to make way for newcomers at this time. It is just past the point of being sustainable after governments mass migration in recent years. Those coming for what they think is a short cut with a year or two of college is not of benefit to them or for Canada and will find themselves luck to find a part time job pushing a broom. As the girl mentioned it's highly skilled in the job sectors with shortages For the most part education from other countries is not recognized by employers in the real work so arriving here they are starting from stratch so those needing education Masters is the only way to go. .with the current overall unsustainability I would expect all immigration to tighten and be prepared to be living in a tent. 0:00

Student visa really is not the right path. It’s too risky. There are so many Pinoys getting PR visas offshore. It’s always better to get skills, be qualified then apply for PR.
But the same skill you talk about can be gotten under students route via the pgwp, you get a Canadian work experience. The only downside to student route is the cost that comes with it but for Canadian work experience, student route gives you that as well. I only recommend that route if you buoyantly prepared financially so you don't end up living on street due to accommodation cost after paying huge sum amount for tuition

Why should a student who graduated from a Canadian university need to prove their proficiency in English again? This is a completely unnecessary process because the student has already studied in English?
There are some "institutions" that have popped up that cater primarily to international students (read: Indian students) and the legitimacy of the courses, as well as the way their taught is dubious. Many people leave the courses unable to speak English proficiently.

This is a must watch for those who wanna come as intl students here in Canada not those videos from "immigration consultants/lawyers" who would always say that student pathway is a guaranteed way to get PR. @@rrdancel Most PR slots in fact continue to be filled by applicants residing abroad, not from Canada's Non Permanent Resident population. A key factor driving the growth in NPR inflows is the government’s repeated announcements of ad-hoc programs aimed at easing the pathway to PR status for lower-skilled migrants who would otherwise struggle to clear the hurdle of the Express Entry skills-based points system. Allocation of PR slots has increasingly become a lottery incentivizing large numbers of migrants to try their luck at obtaining Canadian PR status. But given the limited number of PR admissions, large numbers of justifiably hopeful NPRs will be unable to realize their dreams. As their study and work permits expire, many will be unable or unwilling to return to their home countries. These migrants will become increasingly vulnerable to workplace exploitation, distorting wage outcomes in lower-skilled labour markets, and poverty, which government supports are unable to address because of their ineligibility. Rachael you are a very naive young woman talking online about things that you don't know about. The recent changes to the International Student Program have nothing to do to the housing crisis. The unbalanced growth in Canada’s temporary and permanent migration inflows will inevitably result in a growing undocumented population and forced deportations and also a risk to inflaming Canada's Immigration politics and undermining public confidence in the immigration system.
