Now give us a dorm with 3 chambers and a VR station in them with games like Green Hell and Ghosts of Tabor, you’d get a simulation of SERE and an approximation of live combat and it would be a very fun time. If the military thought America’s Army was a good idea, this would be orders of magnitude better
BAQ, basic allowance for quarters. Usually they live off base in rented or purchased homes. Sometimes in apartments if it is a high cost area and when available on base housing. A much higher standard living than first term airmen. There was a time not too long ago, for enlisted, two to a room, no consideration of different shifts or smoking with latrines down the hallway and to make it fun, regular visits by the SP's and their drug sniffing dogs to check things out. Usually over the weekends, the latrines would be filthy from those who would vomit all over the place and other disgusting things. Showers to where you see everything. A parking lot for your car, if you have one. And a nosy First Sergeant to inspect your room fairly frequently regardless you are a grave shift worker, you have to be up and ready for that. Stereo wars, loud drunks crappy chow hall food.
All of them. lol Which base was that one? Not sure. Depending on how old a base is will affect the quality of the dorms. Lackland is obviously old, so the dorms are pretty meh. However, renovations occur all the time.
