I already make this crumble so often, and I've never tried it with plums! I've tried it with either mango and raspberry, or strawberry blueberry and pineapple and they also taste so good! You should give it a try and I will now definately try it with plums!
oh, I should have seen this video 1-2 months ago .. I harvested hundreds of plums from our trees earlier this year :-) more than we could ever eat, so I ended up freezing a lot of it. this looks like a great recipe.
No prob! You really can use any fruit in season! That's the beauty of it. Try pear and ginger (minced) that's really good too or apples and raisins, or even frozen berries! :)
Yeah so happy to hear that! You can also use all kinds of different seasonal fruits as well (know that you know the basic recipe) it's also great with apples in the fall! :) Enjoy!
Oh wow. They..look...PERFECT. Another breath taking video Beth! I don't understand how you make it look so easy. I wanted to ask you if you could make a video on how to make Red Velvet Cupcakes with it's own Icing! I can't find any recipes that are good. Thanks a lot!
Oh sure ramekins would be great. As for baking it will depend upon the size and depth, but I would say go for 15 mins and check them then, if they are golden brown and juices are bubbling they are done, if not go a little longer until they reach that state :) Enjoy!
Sure. I would do 15-20 mins :) The idea is that the juices should bubble and the crumble should turn golden brown, so if it needs more time to do that, keep baking :) Enjoy!
Hi Beth! You got back to me on one of my questions and suggested this recipe to bring to a guest's house! It looks lovely and I want to make this with apples due to an abundance of fresh apples in my kitchen! Would the substitution from plums to apples make the recipe any different? Or can I just follow the same recipe with just the fruit substitution? Next time around, I'll be sure to try it with plums though because they look amazing!
Such a coincidence! Laura did this too but with blackberries. Love your video quality! I have a question about your basil. How do you harvest them? Do you pinch each leaves off or just cut the stem? My basil, the part where I cut/pinch off becomes black and doesn't grow anymore. It's sad..
Aw yeah! I prefer flour for this because I feel like the corn starch dries it out too much, by absorbing too much liquid. Since I like to retain some of the juiciness I use flour :)
Hmm Ok my first question is did you use real butter? Not margarine, and All Purpose Flour (not pastry flour which is too fine for this) maybe next time add the butter slowly until you reach a crumble like consistency, and then stop. Sometimes depending on how people measure their flour (scoop method, or packing method) you can actually end up with more or less flour. In your instance it sounds like too much butter and not enough flour. Hope that helps?
Hi beth.. luckily I did find plums. Now the thing is im gonna half the recipe & make it in individual ramekins(it's just my hubby im making it for, if I bake the whole thing & store it, it might get soggy).so I think ramekins would be fine, but have no idea about "baking time".I need ur help .Thanks
ive made this so many times and to think that i just opened the freezer looked at the vanilla icecream and thought “huh, that could use some of beth’s crumble” just goes to show how simple this is to make (it currently has 10 minutes left in the oven as im typing this)
Oh sure apples would be delicious! You should follow the same recipe, but because apples are not as juicy as plums, I would add about 1/4 cup of water to your fruit mixture, to create a juicy consistency. As it bakes it will help the apples stew and release more of their juices. You could also add about 1/2 tsp of cinnamon to those apples and 1/2 cup of raisins too, that would also be delicious! :) Enjoy!!
The pecans you can omit (it's really good to swap with Toffee bits instead!) and sure you could omit the cream, you just may need to add a little water instead so the crumble holds together :) Enjoy!!
Hey Beth! Can I know a more unique way to make cupcakes? I love to make it and I want something more interesting about these cupcakes, can you do a video on it? Thanks! Aaron.
Thanks Beth. I think I might try pear (because rest I've already done), but im not sure if ginger would match with pear because its little sharp.(or do u think it'll bring out the flavour).l.o.l. I don't know much u have to guide me:-)
Hey beth, this is a great recipe :) and ik you made lemonade before, but how about showing us how to make RASBERRY LEMONADE ;) your the perfect person to ask. I adore you btw

Oh yes it's a great combo, because as it bakes the flavor mellows. Or you could do pear/golden raisin that would be good too!
just tried this today and my husband loved it!
I drool over all your yummy looking videos

A good idea! I don't have one up yet. But you've just given me an idea :)
Sure. I would do 15-20 mins :) The idea is that the juices should bubble and the crumble should turn golden brown, so if it needs more time to do that, keep baking :) Enjoy!

Ah yes there are some yummy treats on this channel just waiting to be made! :) Enjoy!

Ha! Yes that's how I came up with this recipe, because of our trees as well :) Now you'll have ago-to recipe for next year :)
I bet I could make this with pluots! And plums! Yum!
Oh yes! I have a great easy recipe for that in my Tday for Rookies eps on Kin Community. It's on my channel's homepage under Party Menus. Enjoy!
Bless you x
No not at all, you could swap out the nuts for some rolled oats :) That would be yummy too!
Aw yeah! I prefer flour for this because I feel like the corn starch dries it out too much, by absorbing too much liquid. Since I like to retain some of the juiciness I use flour :)

Sure no prob :) Milk works too.
Oh yes, this one definitely on the list. It's one of my favorites too! :)
Yes of course! Either one would be great. I just wouldn't mix them together :) That might make for a bit of a funny taste :)
I can't wait to try this recipe! My family have a red plum tree in front yard! Thank you Beth :)
Beth, my crumble was a paste! I used sliced almonds instead of pecans. Before adding my nuts it was a paste. Almonds didnt change it.
Aw you bet! So glad it was a hit :) Isn't it yummy?
Thanks you Beth!
No prob, it would be great with oats too! :)

Aw thanks for that :) Oh yes red velvet cupcakes would be a great one! Stay tuned :)
just out of curiosity, why did you use flour instead of corn starch on the plums? thank you, and i tried this recipe already, my family loved it :D
Summer dessert!! Yuum..
ive made this so many times and to think that i just opened the freezer looked at the vanilla icecream and thought “huh, that could use some of beth’s crumble” just goes to show how simple this is to make (it currently has 10 minutes left in the oven as im typing this)
And it's really easy too! (Easier than the Apricot Galette! :) You'll love it :)
Oh now that's a great idea! :)

Oh yes I have some great cinnamon sticky buns in my Christmas Breakfast Menu, in the Party Menu Section on my homepage :) Enjoy!

Hey Beth, could I use any other nut instead of pecans? they're are reeeeally hard to fing around here.. sometimes I hate my town...
I filled out the survey for you. :)
Aw thanks for that Ellie :)
I wonder how diff it would taste with oats instead? Some members of my family cant have pecans.
This looks so yummy, and I always have plums.. :3
Beth has done it again…..
I've been convinced in under 4 minutes to drive to the store and buy plums and make this right now.
Could I use frozen cherries for this recipe? If so, would it alter anything?
this looks amazing! good thing i have some plums :)
Hey Beth! Can I know a more unique way to make cupcakes? I love to make it and I want something more interesting about these cupcakes, can you do a video on it? Thanks!
Aaron.
I also use amerriti biscuits in the crumble mix instead of the nuts ....
Thanks Beth. I think I might try pear (because rest I've already done), but im not sure if ginger would match with pear because its little sharp.(or do u think it'll bring out the flavour).l.o.l. I don't know much u have to guide me:-)
Can you put a cold dish in the oven?
excellent!
Hey Beth! I'm just wondering, why do you mix in flour with the plums? Thanks! Great recipe btw.
Because the sugar is going to release the plum's natural juice, so the flour is here to thicken the juices.
LOl! Perfect! :) It will be worth it!
LOl! Perfect timing! :)
Beth can I use different fruits for this? And am I able to omit the cinnamon?
Hello Beth could you do your version of a chicken a la vendemmia or if you have ever heard of it. You just make recipes look so easy
