Each admiral is modeled after a Japanese actor who Eiichiro Oda respects. Akainu is Bunta Sugawara, Aokiji is Yusaku Matsuda, Kizaru is Kunie Tanaka, Fujitora is Shintaro Katsu, and Ryokugyu is Yoshio Harada.
