- Hello and welcome to the lunchtime crew's My Hero Academia Chapter Review! This is my review of the recent happenings in the newest My Hero Academia Manga Chapter. And with it comes the epic conclusion to the Todoroki family Storyline! That’s right the long-awaited conclusion of the Endeavor, Shoto and Dabi story is here! And oh boy is it hot! Pack your summer clothes baby because we are in for some HEAT!

God the fact that Dabi is STILL Fucking Alive is insane! Dude really needs to die in a couple chapters, it’s practically mercy at this point.

Honestly it would be too much. Shoto defeated him once and they suddenly have a plot twist where he's still good to go. They consistently show him burning away and send him to endeavor. I appreciate the whole family got to face the ghost that haunts their family in Touya, but Shoto pretty much just did another of the same move with the support of the family to defeat him, not new. It would ruin the apology and family moment if he continues the fight somehow, so I understand what you are saying but narratively it would be bad. Toga's moment feels like a final thought on it and a "moving on to the next battlefield" mom. Plus say they do continue with it somehow.... are the none hero Todoroki's that only have ice going to fight him? I truly dont think shoto or endeavor have an ounce of strength left, a phase 3 of the fight would just be.... terrible.
@@k2m297 endeavor has no strength left sure. But if Dabi can get a 2nd and 3rd wind? So can Shoto, sure he passed out but that's likely cause he overheated.
So if his other fam can cool him off enough for one last round? I think he's got it. Because otherwise why show the ice still coming out of Toya and why have him be awake? Wouldn't it have been easier for him to just die from Shoto's attack?
The fact he's still alive and TALKING tell me something else is going on here and we don't know what it is yet

I feel like there might be more to it for the Todoroki family, but I’m super hyped that Toga is finally getting the spotlight again I’m really hoping to see some redemption with her
And after Toga’s fight then it’s the fight between All For One and Kurogiri since they both took Shigaraki in and they will soon show Dr Garaki again except he’s going to get executed by Police Force and they will do like how Dr Gerald Robotnik is executed on Sonic Adventure 2 and Shigaraki will be the last fight to focus

I don’t think it’s over, I mean dabi is still speaking (atleats for now). I hope they can have some sort of arc in the hospital (if they all make it out alive) where maybe dabi doesn’t forgive but they speak about the problems.
The absolute Dabi simp in me would love this conclusion, but I'm not holding my breath. Still, Horikoshi has surprised us all before... so who knows?

Weirdly enough, I don’t think this is the end. Like, Touya’s been stopped from exploding, but now what’s gonna happen? Is Touya dead? Is Endeavor dead? All that awaits now is a hellish, but weirdly hopeful future. There’s still hope for Touya. And if there’s hope for him, there might be hope for Endeavor. Can’t wait to see how this goes...

And I wouldn’t say I’d be “happy” if Endeavor dies. Like, it would just give Fuyumi, Shoto, and mom more grief and trauma to work through. Plus I’m still waiting for that atonement that he promised, so he can’t die on us yet- 😅

Shouto is my favorite character so I am so proud of him.
People wanted both Dabi and Endeavor to die but forget that Shouto is important too and the Todoroki's is a family subplot Shouto is the hero of his family and it's not just about those two. It's about all three.
Such a sad chapter. I really hoped that dabi survived because this almost made me cry. God i love manga and anime. So sad yet so happy at the same time.
I mean, he did survive given he was able to talk. The wiki says he barely survived, but with the information we can infer he is still alive. Barely meaning super close to not, but somehow still is.
I *REALLY* hope this doesn't take the Disney route and say they lived "happily ever after." Dabi's caused too much death and destruction to be forgiven.
Yeah 10 to 1 odds says he's finally dead though. Frankly, he really should have died long ago. If AFO's people didn't screw with his body, Touya would be dead.

The abuse of Endeavor and Touya were 2 things that haunted that family. I'm glad Endeavor has shown he's changed and now properly apologized and they are faced Touya, it wouldve felt wrong if it was just left to Shoto and Endeavor. Seemed like a family issue they all had to face.

I absolutely love the Todoroki family plotline. Of course, minus Enji's poorly thought-out character arc, but the fact that all of these characters making me feel so much intense emotion despite not all of them getting a lot of screentime just shows how good the writing is. Plus, it's nice to see that Enji finally apologized to everyone individually. Not to mention Shoto. He's easily become one of the best parts of the series. Unfortunately, I still don't particularly think that Enji's character arc has been saved, but Toya's body is still in tact, so that's a good sign for things to come.
Also, here’s to hoping that Horikoshi can have the breaks that he needs.

There are a few things. Primarily, aside from making another speech about changing, he hasn’t really done anything that lives up to his promise of atoning. As a matter of fact there are times when it feels like he actively avoids it narratively since he dodges Shoto’s request to face Toya together and ends up just having Toya come to him while he's kind of dying. It makes his speech about atoning come off as empty as a result. As of right now, his only act of atonement is letting his family heal without him, which ends up not really effecting him in the long run anyway. It’s all just narratively unsatisfying imo. Times like that moment where he figuratively kills his past self to represent moving on to a better future (aside from the messaging not being very good imo) feel super unearned as a result since all he's really done for the majority of his arc is continuing to do what he would normally, just with a different attitude. It makes stuff like the hospital scene and his comments about “hating himself” feel less genuine and more like self-pity. I know that the intention was to represent him accepting himself as his own worst enemy, but it falls flat for me there too since him beating AFO really doesn’t contribute to his arc of atoning. There’s some other stuff, like him immediately going against Shoto’s wishes with Toya and deciding to just fight him when he shows up, as well as some stuff with his overall mentality towards Toya since he's barely even tried reaching out to him, and after exchanging hardly any dialogue, just decides to kill himself alongside him, basically deeming Toya a lost cause. I know he did it out of sympathy, but it's all such a lame way to write a character imo. In some ways, it feels like Horikoshi had two separate ways he wanted his character to go (One with him being a good number one hero, and one with him properly atoning), but couldn't decide which he liked more so he mashed them together. Just for the record, I still think there's time for his arc to end on a high note, but all in all, I don't consider it well-written at all since the vast majority of it has been so fumbled. Just for the record, this isn't me trying to dump on Horikoshi, I think he's a great writer and the vast majority of My Hero's character arcs have been really great imo. It's just this one character that really frustrates me due to how much was set up and how little was paid off. I apologize for going on for so long.

@@user-gw3bs2in5i I’m not going to argue with anything because it’s for opinion and yes your are allowed to have different takes on things but I just wanted to say I think it’s unfair when people say Endeavor only went after Touya because he came to him. Endeavor was dealing with AFO at the time which sorry is the more important you know dealing with the big evil man who wants to take over the world. Also, didn’t everyone get separated by portals and Endeavor was sort of plopped into AFO’s path or am I remembering that wrong. I’m sure he would have been looking for Touya and would have fought him with Shoto. Anyway I’m sorry if I came across as a jerk that it’s just I meet a lot of… you know fans and I’m kind of on the defensive side lately.
I have a theroy that Endeavor gave all his family members hero licenses (except Dabie for... obvious reasons). Most likely when they were trying to get Shinso an emergency hero license...he manege to squeeze in a few more names.
The reason he would do that was for redemption, learning that there is more to surpassing All Might than he thought, and that he learned Rei wanted to be a hero as a child but her family refused.

The little fire endeavor ignited and never thought about the consequences has now burned all his family. They all gonna live with a scar on their bodies. Poor family.
Theres no denying Enji is at fault for most of his family's suffering. But as more of the story has gone on, I'd say theres a few others that deserve contempt. The Himura clan for one. Considering everything they've influenced with Shoto and his siblings. Even if indirectly.
Dabi meanwhile..... I'd honestly say its a bit of self fulfilling prophecy or destruction. Endeavor did try to let him down easy and ask that he stop trying to use his quirk if it was going to kill him. But he did not listen and wanted his dad to watch as he burned himself. Slap on the fact he really should be dead 10 times over, and its just more of a recipe for disaster.
Endeavor didn't use the right way to extinguish the fire. That's all.
i mean to dabi the only way to get his father approval or attention was to burn himself basically. Dabi is definition of "A child that is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth"
If Dabi dies now, I'm putting him down as the most tragic character in mha. He was happy for like 3.5 years, than his quirk backfired, and Natsuo was concieved to replace him. And he's been suffering since.
I think Shigaraki is up there. And Shouto to be honest.
@@TheYoungGeninSasuke Shigaraki & Shouto had it pretty rough psychologically. I think Shigaraki might match Dabi, cause killing your entire family is... yeah.
With Shouto, though? As bad as he had it, all of that was concentrated in his father. And maybe mother. I'd say Shouto beat Touya out in terms of childhood 'who had it worse.'
In terms of teenage 'who had it worse' Touya overshadows Shouto by a long shot. Just cause we can tell from his belt/frame that Touya was malnourished, Touya is missing his bottom ear lobe, Touya's clothes are raggedy and old, ect ect. Basically he was homeless as a physical 17 year old, while still being mentally 13, and he got to figure out life in his new burnt, falling apart body. Without any help.
Shouto, meanwhile, got to develop supports outside of his father- Midoriya, his mom, his siblings.
(and, while yes, staying at home would've hopefully been the less traumatizing choice in the long-term, that's not what Touya decided to do, and I'm not gonna critic an extremely traumatized 13 year old for poor decision making lol)

@German Republican Lines if he was going to die he would've died right there but he didn't.
@@Copuzzz *I also agree about Touya being able to temporarily live a little longer before passing away, if they do the Talk No Jutsu on him and it works, it will probably only work until Touya's body is completely broken because he is already literally almost completely on the verge of pulverizing himself into ashes, if all goes well, I wouldn't be surprised if he only survives 4 or 7 months*

BUT DAYUM THAT WAS EPIC!!! DABI BEING A WHOLE SKELOTON WAS GIVING ME CHILLS AND I WAS HYPED AS HECK WHEN SHOTO DID THAT DEVESTATING ATTACK !! THE SCORE LINE FOR DABI VS SHOTO HAS TURNED INTO 1-2 SHOTO WINSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I love Endeavor So much I have never seen a character ever like him. He’s one of the greatest characters of all time. His development is astounding with how he wants to atone. The fact that we get to go into his mind and see how sorry and how hurt he is really says a lot about him. His story is one of redemption not punishment even though he does get punished throughout the series and says he completely deserves it. Even when he lost all his glory he doesn’t care about that he just cares about hurting his child. Then with one pep talk from his family he goes and does his job as a hero. Then we he does get to his son sure he does try to explode himself (which was actually the most rational thing to do) when his family comes he instantly try’s to calm his son down. All culminating in finally apologizing. It’s never too late to turn around and make a difference. Now you can say you dislike Endeavor for his past actions and you can’t forgive him and that’s okay, but don’t go making up stuff about his redemption and act like he’s that same jerk back in the early chapters. Here’s to Enji Todoroki he’s my number 1 hero.
I think his redemption is good but it would be stupid if it all just ended with the family getting back together like before. What he did is not forgivable and hopefully the story acknowledges that in the end; you can have a redemption arc but a redemption arc doesnt mean you can suddenly resolve and spam the undo button on everything youve done, it should be about moving on from it. likewise, he should separate from the rest of the family to let them heal now without him. (my opinion)
I still hope he dies. This whole arc is sh*t the only thing I want before this series ends is him to die.

@@dustdukk2832 I wasn’t going to comment because I’ve had bad experience with it before in the past and I completely respect your opinion, but saying someone’s actions aren’t forgivable just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. He’s not a murder, he’s not a rapist. I also want to make it clear I would never defend his past actions never they were disgusting and vile and just hurts to watch. But to be fair I also come from the Steven Universe fandom where the Diamonds basically did unethical experiments on gems and they were forgiven. I’m just saying in my opinion they’re not unforgivable you can still recover it’s just going to be extremely hard. Also, I wouldn’t find it stupid if they got back together with him I mean if we really look at it they were already kind of separated without him with the house and the kids seeing Rei all the time. I think in a strange way they sort of should have him around so they work this out as a family and stop running away from the issues. Anyway probably going to get bullied for this comment, but I just wanted to share my peace. Have a wonderful night/day.

That’s all for Todoroki Family vs Dabi and it last from chapters 387-390 and now it’s Uravity vs Himiko Toga or should I call it Pro Heroes and Trainees vs Himiko Toga and Doubles because of Froppy, Earphone Jack, Pixie Bob, Tiger, Shishido, Kamui Woods and Shemage is at the battlefield and they’re struggling against multiple Twice’s clones and not just Gunga Mountain, UA Fortress is also being attack by multiple Twice’s clones too in fact they’ve restrain Monoma, Kaminari, Manga, Mandalay, Manual and Yuyu
This is a reverse Star Wars scenario. Where Anakin burns to death and tells Obi-Wan that he hates him even though the two were sort of brothers (family). After that, Anakin became Darth Vader. It's different here, here Toya first becomes Dabi, and then the big fight follows. Dabi becomes Toya again. He dies from his burns like Anakin, he shows his hatred towards the people he loved. But unlike Anakin, Toya dies here.
Even after this many months, i believe Dabi isnt done yet. I think he has 1 more trick up his sleeve, as his body turns to ash he'll go through a rebirth like phoenix. A phoenix from the ash

I think this is the best way to end our story alas Dabi Has one last secret trick inside of him then it's all over? I think his body is Literally nothing but ash this point.
Man its tough being Shoto. All these. And then he also finds out his best friend Bakugo is dead.

I kinda feel like this part of the arc ... didn't need to happen?
Like, The Todoroki family kinda just put themselves in danger for no reason other than raising the stakes, their words fell on Dabi's deaf ears, and you cannot convince me that they "HELPED" with Shoto's final attack against potential nuke.
Also Shoto kinda just used the same move to cool down Dabi.
toya couldn’t have built a bigger trash fire than the conclusion for this family 😂
ice melts under heat. can’t imagine what type of heat toya was generating when even Shoto said “he reached uncharted territory where I can’t tread” but somehow, with a bunch of undeveloped ice quirks and his own, they snuff out a literal supernova about to burst 😂
and then, none of them are hurt in a way other than cosmetic, so yeah. total waste of a well written villain. toya got hoed, again. hope for his sake he just gets to die. spend your whole adult life held together by hate and bitterness with the sole purpose of exacting revenge on someone only for other circumstances to arrive and not even be able to maim him in a way that he has to live with.

I feel like this is a satisfying end to Dani’s character he finally had his whole family with him.With that also the end of one of my favorite characters.If we do see them it would probably be them carrying something of toya’s since there is no way he’d survive that.

Chief of Police: Touya Todoroki it’s time for
You face trial for the crimes
You committed as DABI
Then the trial of the century started
And it will have the character bringing up
Events from the previous
Seasons of the show leading
Up to now
Then a word came from Touya as he pleaded guilty and apologizes to
The people he hurt and to
His family even shoto
Touya: guilty and am sorry for all horrible things I did as DABI
And am sorry that I hurt
My family including shoto
Then the judge decided to
Give Touya a lighter sentence
Then the judge puts Touya on under house
arrest with parole
And the judge turns towards the Todoroki
Family asking them to
Keep an eye on touya
During his under house
Arrest

Okay guys I want someone write an alternate Ending and Dabi is the Protagonist and manage to kill everyone with his Quirk. With Dabi most powerful Fire Quirk evolved into its most hottest form turning blue into Ultra Violet while also awakening his ice quirk
We don’t know what will truly happen next, but right now he is still alive. Given the ice will probably help him in the long run, and that he’s still talking. So I think it’s not over and he’ll stay alive. Idk what he’d do tho lol.
Oh yeah and cuz he still hates Endeavor
I feel for Shoto. God knows hpw long will his family will recover and he's likely to rebuild all by himself for a while.
Dabi dying is a mercy at this point. All the alternatives that are possible are frankly worse than just dying.

@@zainaljerrde2885 Kirishima didn’t even get to fight either all he did is just defend himself too while riding Gigantomachia and also Yaomomo and Kaminari didn’t even fight too all they did is just power up the UA Fortress but now they’re being attacked by Twice’s clones and also Shoji, Jiro and Koda got to fight villains too and I’m waiting for Sero, Ojiro, Sato, Aoyama and Hagakure get their turn since they will fight 2 prisoners escapees Kunieda who does like Poison Ivy and Gashly who has an umbrella and will do like Gashlycrumb Tinies
only the war? This manga is all about the Todoroki family drama while everyone is just there as a waste of panels and ink
@@diegoaristizabal6594 Todoroki Family fight is over now and now they’re focusing on Uraraka’s fight against Toga and after that then it’s between All Might’s fight against All For One and Deku’s fight against Shigaraki while Aoyama’s fight, Sero’s group fights and Eraser Head, Present Mic and Kurogiri will be side fights
Okay, but can we focus on how incredible it was to finally see the other Todorokis in battle? Rei, Fuyumi and Natsuo would honestly be amazing as heroes.

Everybody keeps fucking complaining bout the manga and how it feels rushed, but Horikoshi is like badly unhealthy rn and still releasing content for us to read, now he’s taking another break which I am grateful for, some of you are ungrateful asf, I’d rather have a finished manga then an unfinished one bc he felt forced to keep writing and pushing to more things. Be grateful we even have season 7 coming a few months after the new year. Imagine how mad y’all be if we didn’t get one

Dabi and Endeavor are most likely to die in the end, given that their injuries are way worse than the rest of the family's.
And Bakugo's heart was blown up, none of his other organs were being given oxygen, and no mention about what to do about the parts that would've been damaged and yet right now we are supposed to believe that just patching the heart is enough to save his life. So what makes the idea that they could survive so impossible?
@@1993digifan Endeavor and Dabi's death narratively fits. They aren't the deuteragonist like Bakugo is plus what else is there for them to do story-wise. The Todorokies story of an abusive patriarch comes to an end at the hand of his first born son but the youngest is there to save the rest of the family by being there for each other showing that a single child would never have been perfect but the family unit would have been.
@@oscarshedwick4862 Yeah the wonderful "Get of Jail/Consequence" Card the go to move for people who can't think of what to do after the A-plot is resolved instead the pick the easiest outcome: abuser finally gets around to saying sorry before croaking never having to put in more effort to be a better person and seeing if their any salvaging the relationships with the people messed up and the Bad Victim is stopped from killing himself before still dying and only the Good Victims get to move forward with no real changes in their character or relationships since without any challenges because the Bad Victim is no longer a problem for them to work with and the one who started all this never has do anything more than say sorry but never has to hard long-term commitment to being a better person 1 "good deed" makes up for 20 years abuse because they died right after. You can't even really say stopping Touya from exploding was an act of love since there would've been unrelated victims, so real question if for some reason Touya and Enji were somewhere far from any living person (but they knew where they were and had a way to get to them quickly) so there would've been no other deaths would they've put in any effort get to them to stop Touya from blowing up or would they just be Sad Face and not do anything since it doesn't cause any problems for others and it gets rid of their two problems in one go. Maybe it would've been better if they just let Enji take Touya to the sky, after all they are only able to take action once it's too inconvenient for them to ignore, but never at a time when they have nothing to gain from taking action. Really them only getting off their asses to do anything involving Touya when he was in the process of committing suicide just proves him right that it was such a simple thing that they were too late with to have any meaningful impact on him since in the end Touya gets what he wanted from the start of the battle: a murder-suicide with Endeavor. You want them to be left with only the good pieces so nothing is a challenge or showing that as a family they still have work to do (that at best the time skip epilogue would show a glimpse of) since the easy parts are the only things left. Without an arm and with the injuries from the burns Enji's hero career is likely over by living he doesn't have the easy way to runaway from any family issues like he did during Touya's childhood, but you want him to get to run from living with the consequences. The same for Touya, he has wanted to die for years and so you desire that he gets what he wants in the end, so he doesn't have to live to someday find something to live for that doesn't involve his father, and the Good Victims don't have to actually show that they do unconditionally love just by visiting him in jail/mental hospital where they have nothing to gain by seeing him since you want him do die with their last major act toward him not being one of love (like you people want to believe it is) but one that proves that the rest of the Todoroki family could only pretend that they care about his life when they are pushed against the wall.

I'd personally like to see Dabi have a complete mental breakdown, but in a positive way. Where he finally feels guilty about what he's done and regrets it, even though he can barely move and is barely alive. Maybe even a Quadriplegic, given how literally cooked he is.
