I had the privilege of meeting James Caan 40 something years ago, very nice man. Met Bobby Duvall in 2009, he's very different in person . I'd love to meet Diane Keaton someday
Looks like from first interview, they would have know how talented and charismatic he was. He was magic on the screen. And what a hunk, he was just a gorgeous man! Look at all he has done since Godfather. I love Pacino! ❤❤❤❤
one of the best movie som haved be made. i stil take my dvd and put in the recorder and watshing nr1 and 2 godfather, verry verry good movie and al the actor is so good. and Al P have make good movie after this goodfather , what a story. never forgotten and never bad.
The host was so exited about the importance of the event, he hardly menaged to lead the program. Questions asked and answers given were already wery well known for anyone who is a fan of this movies. 45 years later no one remembers anything that wasn't already said for 1000000 times.
My God great book, the best movie ever, amazing cast ❤ I read the book and when I saw the movie at 21 years old I was a little scared of the violence, but no I loved it , I don’t know how many time I’ve seen it, to me is the best movie ever ! And to know all the hard time they had to go through in order to film it, great, great, great ❣️
Coppola's director brilliance came through when he took over the questions from the audience. The host was dismissive of the audience and blew it off and seemed confused.
The Godfather I and 2 are, without a dought, the greatest movies ever put on celluloid. They always say that Citizen Kane is like this fantastic movie but I say the greatest two movies of all time are GF 1+2 . Hands down! Also, I'm Italian but, I don't think that makes a bit of difference. Great show!
That’s Taylor Hackford. A great director in his own right. Once president of the director’s guild. And married to Helen Mirren. He knows a thing or two.
With a gathering of this calibre of actors, the host stole time away from all of them being able to fully tell stories; instead, he felt the need to tell the stories from his 'research' and hearing his own voice.
7:56 I was dissapointed by the book too. Francis also being dissapointed explains why the movies were uncomparebly better. Apollonia and Michael's love story and the effects her death had on him as one of the main reasons he went dark makes us empathize with Michael and we cant blame him whatever he does after that. Not to mention him going to the place where she died after he leaves everything and him dying there...
The stuttering and repeating half sentences made it hard to listen - Made me wonder how they did so well in the movie. Also these interviews showed how difficult it is to make a movie of this caliber just to cast it.
Am I the only one annoyed that Talia Shire took what was obviously supposed to have been been Robert Duvalls seat? They were called out in the order they should have taken their seats.
Paramount pictures made the godfather. The host directed an officer and a gentleman in 1981 which was produced by paramount. He has a decent knowledge of the studio system.
As an Italian, I was highly offended by James Caan. In my opinion, one of the worst casting decisions. He exemplified all of the typical Italian stereotypes…..”Badda bing”, the biting of the forefinger, the over the top use of hands, the horrendous way he talked, etc. If you notice all of the REAL Italians (Al Pacino, John Cazale, Robert DeNiro, Richard Conte, etc.) none of them acted like this. I was so glad when Sonny’s character was gone.
@@roshenicoorayShe is the reason why Michael Corleone went all dark. After her death. It doesnt matter what she said, the important is that she was the woman he loved and that she was KILLED by his trusted bodyguard
@@nina84374 Michael “went all dark” before that. He killed Sollozzo and McCloskey. He “went all dark” because Sollozzo tried to kill his father. Appolonia was a minor character, that is why she wasn’t on that stage. Carlo had a bigger and more important role and he wasn’t on that stage either.
Vijai Madhavakkannan Gianni doesn’t like James Caan because during their fight scene in the movie, Caan beat him with a garbage can lid and broke 2 of his ribs. Gianni felt that was very unnecessary and the two of them do not speak.

Epic film, absolute epic film✨✨
I cannot imagine The Godfather without Al Pacino, and all the others...It was perfect cast!
The portrait of Brando resting on the library is a very nice gesture
He would be 96 years old now. He died too young. Richard Attenborough who was one year older than brando died in 2014. 10 years later than brando.
Francis Ford Cappola is a rare breed of man, what a guy
This was a great watch. Nice of the cast of The Godfather to interview the host
The Greatest👑 Still and Forever🔥

How could you be so lucky
Diane Keaton is a person everyone wished to be friends with. She's so funny and hilarious 😂😂
How is Bob Duvall different in person?!?
Duvall seems like would be deep and serious. Love Al Pacino in most of his movies and Diane Keaton amazing in Thin ice as a drug pusher and addict.
Of all the movies I’ve seen in my life, The Godfather rates as my favorite.
Love this Thank you Francis and all of you🙏🏻
I am watching this for the first time and I can’t believe that, over one hour into the discussion, they haven’t let De Niro speak even once!
I came here after Alec Baldwin on conan show
Same bruh.. conan is 🙏
Me too
Same

Francis is so intense & warm - all the same.
Yes, he is warm. Great observation.
Coppola's director brilliance came through when he took over the questions from the audience. The host was dismissive of the audience and blew it off and seemed confused.
This is great but the host is almost ruining it. Thanks to FFC he does not!
Exactly right. The poor bastard was probably overcome with star struckness.
Can't imagine the Godfather without Marlon Brando

WOW, DID SHE SAY ROBERT DEVOLE,?? HE'S A WONDERFUL ACTOR, AND I'VE WATCHED MANY OF HIS MOVIES, GREAT ACTOR,AND COMES OFF AS A WONDERFUL PERSON, ❣️❣️.
RIP JAMES CAAN - MARVELOUS AS SONNY...
Mój ukochany film!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ !!!!
The sound is way to low, its hard to hear anybody
The host loves the sound of his voice way too much, if he wanted to tell all the stories himself, why were all these other people there?
That’s Taylor Hackford. A great director in his own right. Once president of the director’s guild. And married to Helen Mirren. He knows a thing or two.
@@df4196 But as the host, it's not his stories or telling we're interested in.
No one cares what he thinks. We wanted to hear from Coppola and the cast. He was extremely annoying.
It is actually Francis Ford Coppola who looks like the Godfather on this table and of course the trilogy itself.
De Niro said nothing
Just:- humm, yeah ..umm
Just living up to his Goodfellas motto: always keep your mouth shut and never let down on your friends.
Brando was a genius🙏💫
can somebody send this host to the battlefield?
He directed an officer and a gentleman in 1982 . His claim to fame.
And he bangs Helen Mirren
Moderator's intro way too long.
Pacino was right. His role was mild compared to Sonny's and that's why they chose James Caan to play him.
Something wrong with American made spring water?
Al Pacino,I hope to meet you one day, upstairs! I no I never will otherwise, love all you do!
44:50
yeah.... @last9emperor...i notice that one too..hahaha
The host tells AL PACINO how they make a movie. What a...
Coppola did not look at Jimmy Caan while he talked, even seemed disgusted at him. I wonder why.
Why? Can you explain for a layman?
I noticed that too. Even while Jimmy touches him like a friend, he looks dead serious
James Caan is by far, the best actor up there, and the least acknowledged for it. He does comedy ("Slither" and "Elf") as well as drama.
Andy Garcia?
With a gathering of this calibre of actors, the host stole time away from all of them being able to fully tell stories; instead, he felt the need to tell the stories from his 'research' and hearing his own voice.

PLEASE DO A GODFATHER PART FOUR WITH ALL THE ORIGINAL CAST, THE WHOLE WORLD IS WAITING
nope Mario Puzo is dead.
Considering all of them are dead bar Kay and Connie, that’ll be a struggle ngl
Not so. Leave a perfect thing alone. Godfather III was bad enough. See Andy Garcia was not invited
Gotta fast forward the moderator talks too much
Did Al really have to go through this?
RIP Marlon Brando

One of the best scenes in the movie is when Sonny beat the crap out of Carlo!!!!

the cat scene....only one take
Who is the host? Why can’t he shut up.
looks a bit like Taylor Hackford but not sure?
Listen to the director’s commentary on an officer and a gentleman. He has plenty to stay there 😅.
Too many huge egos, not the least of whom is the host. Awkward. Except DeNiro. He's cool.
I couldn't get through the book. I threw it away.
Why mainly Al Pacino..?
The other cast members barely got a look in..
Probably the best movie ever..
It shows how bad judges, studio bosses can be.
How annoying is the audience whoopin and clapping at anything.
exactly how alec baldwin said
What he said?
Il manque De Niro
Please let them talk…
Alec Baldwin brought me here.
Conan 🤘
I love love love Al Pacino. Why does he look like sloppy joe lately?
DO A GODFATHER PART FOUR
Doug Doug why

@@queenofhearts57 If this is what bothers you, your name must be Karen.

The host needs to back off and let the actors and Coppola.
Worst name announcer ever😅
Yea...What's he fascination with glorifying the mob? Killers, gangster'. Brutal destroyers of human decency? 😮😮😮Just z question!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
terrible host...yikes

They're playing gangsters not college professors genius.
where is Apolonia ....she was the most important actress .
