Frank turner is my masochistic music, when I'm feeling down and don't feel like getting up ever again. Then after all my make up has been cried off, I feel better and can go about life again
Sometimes his music helps when you want to rush the bad feelings out, especially as some of his songs help pick you back up once you get them out to relax, get better, etc.
I don't know you, Eva, but thank you. You expressed exactly what Frank's music did for me on a very tough day today. You said what I was feeling but couldn't put into words.
Before i heard Frank I thought only Bob Dylan was capable of inspiring that level of personal introspection en mass. He carries Bobs torch onwards to new generations
I'm 16 next week, I saw frank for my 14th birthday while I was on leave from my psychiatric unit. I've struggled with mental health and eating disorders since I was 9 and this man was my muse. thank you frank
I really love the recorded version of this song - one of my favourite songs ever written. But It really opened my eyes when I was hearing it live and the whole crowd was singing it together. Live shows of this guy are just something else man ...
I‘m in a psychiatric hospital, in the middle of a life crisis and struggling with severe depression. This song gives me strength and makes me believe that everything‘s gonna be okay again. I listen to this song on repeat..at least 10 times a day. I’m so so grateful that you created this piece of art. Thank you for helping me on my way to recovery Frank :)
Nice that frank is getting some love these days, he's way more talented than 99% of artists you hear today and he's put more work in than most musicians do in several lifetimes
I just saw him live... I felt so stupid bawling my eyes out till I looked to my left and my right and saw the big burly man next to me, and the older woman at the other side crying too. I love this man, and I don't give a fuck what anyone says about it.
I keep having dreams... I haven’t seen her in about four years now. But I still see her smile and hear her laughter, every day, inside my head. I am disappeared.
@@jackobrienacting Ah, Google deceived me, you're right. (If you look up the lyrics on Google, it says "of following through," but other places say "not")
One of the songs that always accompanied me walking down lonely highways with my thumb out, west of the Rocky mountains all the way to the ocean, from the deserts of the SW to the rainy pacific northwest, and everywhere in between. I miss those careless adventurous times with everything I needed in my bag.
Just saw him play at this small venue in OKC. The place was packed. I listened to his music when I heard he was touring with AJJ, and I liked it, but seeing him live made me a fan.
There are a lot of bands out there I listen to when I want to feel bad, but very few I listen to when I actually want to feel better. Frank Turner is one of them rare ones.
listened to this over 100 times since it was put on, can't believe we are going to be given a whole new album of this, we are so lucky to have King Frank.
this song is so meaningful it makes want to do something, and I don't even know what, it just provokes so much emotion and feeling. Frank Turner is quite possibly the musician who writes these powerful songs this consistantly
Frank is a great song writer, and to be able to write such a great song four albums, and constintly tour at the same time. Shows that he is what a true artisit is, and should never stray from that path.
This was the frist song that brought tears to my eyes, as I saw it live. I sang/screamed the lyrics with all the others at the concert, it was a great feeling. A moment I will always remember. So thank you Frank, for this song, which always gives me that unknown feeling of love and hate, the wish to run away or listen to Bob Dylan (all at once).
Frank Turner restored my faith in the music industry when I was introduced to him the first time. He is everything I aspire to be in my life, both musically and also keep my feet on the ground should I ever be lucky enough to make it. FTHC!
What a joy. Frank is a poet, musician, bloody lovely man and proud to be English. Frank you are an inspiration to me and I thank you for that. The lyrics of this song are genius
omg you uploaded it yesterday, today it has over 10.500 views! and still you are such a simple and nice guy! i'm so happy to see you 2 times in 1 week this summer! it's gonna be amazing!
I actually adore this, Frank just gets better and better. I can listen to you all day everyday and I never get sick of you. DFTBA. P.S I have pressed replay so many times I feel like I have abused it
I was going to attempt to make a clever comment, or pull the usual "dislikers are..." response. But then I realised that no words I could spout would be anything compared to this song. I love it, im going to buy this album when it comes out.
I absolutely love this song. It sums up the restlessness that i think modern life brings to us all. How Frank's music isn't significantly more popular is beyond me, a aogn that modern music isnt about making you think but simply about making you placated.
My favourite one on the album so far!! This is one album I'll definately be paying full wack for :) Brilliant live artist too! I can't believe I waited so long to get into him! Put it off far too long! Thank you to my good friends who encouraged me to give Frank a proper listen!
This song describes exactly what it's like to live in England these days. Looking for meaning, feeling like some way of life that's right for you has been forgotten. But our countryside is welcoming and our climate is temperate, so you can always disappear.
I think it's his favourite song by him (from what I heard on an interview)! Certainly it's the song that took him the longest to perfect while producing that album
Ok, first Winchester, then Southampton, now Exeter. Frank, you're following me around! But if it means you're producing awesomeness like this, I have absolutely no problem with that!
Saw him in Asheville a couple of days ago. I originally went to see Smith Street Band, but Frank Turner surprised me. It was overall a pretty good show.
It’s been 12 years since this comment I made. I was 21 then, 33 now. And literally nothing has changed. I mean, a lot has CHANGED in my life, but inside my head, my feelings and my reactions and my struggles and any weight they hold… still the same. Still the same as the first time I heard this recording when I was 21. Mental.
I love this song but it physically hurts to listen to it sometimes. What beautiful noises Frank Turner makes.

One of the few songs that gives me goosebumps every time.
Totally, totally agree. Goosebumps galore. Love this song so much…
I remember when I listened to this song over and over for a few months. I fucking love this song.
I'm in that exact state right now, it's been on repeat for the past week. Also doing my best to learn it on guitar, just an amazing song
BlaXeon. Lol same still listening to it iver and over again

Hello 👋
Nice that frank is getting some love these days, he's way more talented than 99% of artists you hear today and he's put more work in than most musicians do in several lifetimes
Totally. He rocked in Toronto!
10 years later. I'm still having those dreams.
Well fuck man that's not really inspiring me to get my shit together xD
i ditched my shrink and brought a frank turner cd for he explains life to me!
I love this comment :)
Think I might follow your example
beautiful...cry every time.. I can relate to every word.

I will never listen to music the same way again...
This was my anthem when I moved to califronia (from Ireland) in 2011.
Shout out to a fellow Irish person 👋
Hello fello Irish people. James, tell us what took you from Ireland to Cali. Are you still there?
"Keep having dreams of things I need to do, then waking up and not following through." The man's a fucking wordsmith of the highest degree.
Actually, I used to think it was "not following through" but it's actually "of following through"
@@nickm.5931 No it isn't.

The piano motif is most definitely my favorite part of the song.
Same. It makes the song so much better.
Matt Nasir is a fantastic addition to the sleeping souls. Integral!!!

Funny how this song relates to so many people in so many different situations :) Nice to know I'm not alone :)
Never feel like you're alone :)
We are never alone!

Frank’s songs have that amazing relatability - I keep having dreams
This song is epic. I keep getting it in my head in the middle of the day and I can't relax until I listen to it

I never listen to songs on repeat but this is an exception.....AMAZING!
2021 timeless album
I've had this on repeat on my iPod since he released it. I sleep to it. I even wrote an essay inspired by it for English class. Slightly obsessed..
i die a little bit everytime i hear Frank Turner.
He makes me smile, and cry and he makes me think.
I remember hearing this song at the Riverside show you played over a year ago, and I've been super anxious to hear it again. Day = MADE.

I wish I could sing half as well as this man. Amazing song, Frank. So on board with this.

After 11 seconds, I paused, and already realized I was going to love this song.
My name's Amy. I live in Exeter and I like Bob Dylan. So many things in this song that are exactly like me and I'm freaked out.
10 years later...
Fantastic song. Made my morning and will make my week.
Thank you
Solid. This is one of the absolute best songs I know.

Utterly fantastic!
Perfect. Just bloody perfect!
I enjoy Frank's songs, but I am a happy, well-adjusted individual. I am an exception, apparently

I heard this on the Unplugged, Unseen video on TH-cam somewhere a while back. I was hoping something would come of this beautiful song :)
