He is in fact going to save Baal, reinforce Dante and appoint him Lord Regent of the dark half! Remember that the timeline got switch around and in the new version of events, the Plague wars happened before Guilliman had crossed the Rift at all. This can be seen in the rewritten conversation he has with the female historian/emissary in the new Plague Wars. So we already know that.

In the old lore, Guilleman saved the BL, and then returned across the rift to end the Crusade and go to Ultramar. Now he ended the first part of the Crusade, went to Ultramar and is only now planning to go across to Baal. We essentially have three points in the story, that we are telling it from; Dawa of Fire; The beginning of the Crusade ca 20 years before Plague War. Plague Wars; The end of the first part of the Crusade. Dante; ca 100 years after the Crusade began, it is now over and Dante is regent.

I’d genuinely like to see the face of any unlucky starship captain who has to fight a Gloriana Class Battleship, much less one that gets to see there’s an entire fleet behind it.
26 kilometers of adamantine armor, macro-plasma and lance batteries, torpedo launchers, and enough hangar and troop space for an entire chapters worth of Astartes carrying a Primarch and a shield-company’s worth of Custodes and Silent Sisters serving as the vanguard for a fleet and army to make the Maccharian crusade look tiny in comparison. Not fun for anyone to deal with, be they traitor, daemon, ork, Aeldari, Drukhari, or Tyrannid.
With the retcon it’s possible Guilliman hasn’t been to Nihlus yet so the Dante hasn’t been made warden and the chapters not reinforced with primaris, Guilliman may have said he will disband the un numbered sons but could of just said that before taking them across the rift (not like anyone will really know once he is over there) With the great rift causing massive time distruptions across the galaxy to pull the stories together. I would want to see more interaction between Dante and Guilliman perhaps Guilliman observing Dante before making his choice to make him Warden Plague wars dealt with his first trip beyond the rift lead to What we saw at the end of the devastation of Baal

The Story is being told from three points: Dawn of Fire (beginning of Crusade) Plague Wars: ending of the first part of Crusade Dante; many years after Crusade began.
This was my assumption too. Guilliman originally arrived on Baal 70 years after the rift. With the timeline altered there’s no clarification as to if he’s been there at all yet.

He already lost to Mortarion, loosing again to another one won't make a good story, maybe while they are fighting Corax will just pop out form nowhere and defeat Lorgar only for Lorgar to escape again

I remember reading a Blood Ravens novel stating the Chapter had so many psykers they had a mini astronomican. Maybe they can bring that into the canon and the Blood Ravens can help create a safe passage through the rift.

He's clearly scouting for additional crossing points to Nihilus. I can't not see a situation if Dark Angels are involved that the Lion returning is not far off. Gulliman has an incredibly complicated relationship with his brother Lion El'Johnson. If there are Fallen involved, with Gulliman heading towards them, close to learning what happened to Caliban. Then The Lion will get awakened on the Rock.
Crystal ball shakeup: While Guilliman gets tied down on the other side the High Lords of Terra cook upp their own kind of heresy. Having his hands full of some major development Guilliman is not even aware of the ongoings back on Earth and takes no action. But, he does meet up briefly with Leman Russ being on his way home from wherever and has a chat about the state of the Imperium. Russ travels back and is treated with near hostility by the lords after showing his trust in Guilliman. What will he do? Will/can the Emperor speak to him at all?
Gulliman specifically states in one of the Dark Imperium novels that he never does anything for one reason. There's always multiple reasons and potentially multiple angles to everything he does.
Lorgar is easily the best Traitor Primarch from a lore point of view. So many possibilities they could take with the narrative. Also not aligned to one god so would be a great Chaos Undivided Primarch to create your own custom traitor war bands around.
I don't know what Guilliman plans to do but it could end in the Lion waking up and taking charge of that side of the rift whilst grumbling about Girlyman playing Emperor again.
If Lorgar is back on crusade then we can likely guess that Corvus would be back with him, I would love to see Corvus save guilliman or Dante from death at lorgar‘s hands
I really wanna see Guilliman encounter the Tau Empire. If he’s made an alliance with Eldar, it’s likely he can make one with the Tau Empire, or perhaps even appreciate their way of ruling. Granted the Ethereals will be something Guilliman might not be on board with, but the idea of an interstellar empire, uniting multiple races under a single banner, and generally making the grimdark universe more liveable, would be a cause Guilliman would stand for. Do I mean Guilliman joins the Tau? Not at all, but he is disgusted by the Imperium, and desperately wants to help the Imperium’s people. The Tau Empire transform horrific hive worlds into cultural utopias, and treat the surviving humans right. Guilliman could surely benefit from them.

Like, remember the revelation that it was Guilliman who arranged for the loyalist word bearer to help write the Ecclysiarchy’s scripture? Like… really? I get Guilliman is politically savvy and plays a long game but that’s hard to reconcile with what we know about him, at least as he was during the Heresy. I also frankly don’t trust this writing team to do a Lorgar/Guilliman conversation justice. Maybe they want to take Guilliman off the board for a while, have him get captured by something again, but dang.
Guillimam never arranged for the achorite to help write the ecchlisiarchy's religon, it was more or less an inadvertent side effect of him sparing the achorites life and choosing to imprison him rather than execute him. If anything that turn of events is a great representation of guillimans character, as in an attempt to be better than his traitorous brother and not immediately executing lorgars son he accidentally helps spawn a religon that has killed more people than the heresy ever could have. Its all a huge case of dramatic irony. That was my interpretation of events anyway

But I don’t know if it’s implied that he planned for the Word Bearer to be given pen and ink and spend a few centuries writing holy scripture. And become so important to the burgeoning cult that when he tries to off himself they have him put in a dreadnaught rather then lose him. It is an interesting example though of the Emperor’s human aspect and his god aspect being an existential threat to each other. They can’t both live.
It would be nice for Guilliman to actually WIN a Primarch duel for a change. It's understandable that he couldn't best Fulgrim or Mortarion, but he's hopeless if he can't beat ORGAR(the wrakest 1v1 traitor Primarch).

I feel why he's going out there is to help Dante with all these new threats but I also think GW is going to play out a scene that when Guilliman comes back from all of these problems, the risen Lion, who had nothing substantial to stop him, swiftly takes over the southern part of the imperium

I would love to see Angron pull back all the World Eaters, and see Kharn snap, and become loyalist, and be mentally set straight by Sanguinius. Who better to calm Kharn's rage than the Blood Angels! I think it’s important to say, now they’ve reorganised the timeline, Guiliman going to imperial nihilus and saving the blood angels is after the events of the dark imperium, and vigilus so if we are going by where the dawn of fire series currently is, the devastation of baal is still ongoing

Okay I am 5 minutes into the video yet. My answer would be: if you have a standing Armee, there is nothing worse you can do but to do nothing with it. A soldier has to do something. It is hard to explain to someone who never served for a military service but there is nothing worse than a bunch of soldiers who have nothing to do. So of course he has to keep going to crusade something.

I was wondering something about Dante, as we know he had a vision of him sacrificing himself in order to save the emperor on terra. Since Godblight and the emperor resurrecting and fighting through Guilliman's body, could it be possible that the emperor once again possesses some great hero of the imperium/Guilliman again, and that Dante sacrifices himself to save the emperor, still on Holy Terra, commanding another's body. Would it be possible for you ?
He’s more than likely trying to keep whatever he can together in the Imperium and try to find a way through the rift. This is as much a necessity as much as it is political, since a Primarch hasn’t been seen for the greater part of the past 10k years save for a blip here or there, but never in force.
40k’s an awesome world but honestly I’m burnt out on how much they stretch everything out. Since it’s all make value be you would think they’d just make up new storylines instead of one spanning 80!books and still not complete
I have created my own Unnumbered sons chapter. It's a secretly inserted Night Lord gene seed that is reported as a Raven Guard successor. My guys are loyal, currently, and unaware of their own origin. They just know that the Raven Guard "feel" off. They are currently deployed in the vigilis sector. They go to war as a force disruptor. They tear down a target's communications and morale by utilizing stealth, assassinating Traitor leadership, disrupting supply chains and basically just being Very Bad Men. No enemy receives mercy, all are subject to their judgement..... pray you are found worthy. "Punish the Wicked! Death to the Unclean!"
Closing in on 100,000, congrats. The movement in the story is simply too slow; The Lion has been set to return for ages now, get on with it. Also, the only person that should get to confront Logar should be Corax!

It's only natural that there would be misunderstandings between Guilliman and Calgar. Primarchs often appeared aloof even to their closest confidante. Now imagine a Chapter Master doing his best with severely diminished resources and no Primarchs. Now imagine a Primarch showing up, retaking command and changing things up seemingly at a whim. Bitterness even, would be understandable. Imagine the disasters that could have been avoided with full Legionnes Astartes as a bulwark. Guilliman took that from the Astartes.
i have a feeling we might have to wait many more years before another loyal primarch will return. even if the lore/novel are teasing it, but i can be wrong
I really hope they stop writing Calgar as a petulant child and take it in the direction of him continuing to show faith and eventually has it out with Guilliman, and comes to realise most fathers are hardest on their sons.. While Guilliman gets tied down on the other side the High Lords of Terra cook upp their own kind of heresy. Having his hands full of some major development Guilliman is not even aware of the ongoings back on Earth and takes no action. But, he does meet up briefly with Leman Russ being on his way home from wherever and has a chat about the state of the Imperium. Russ travels back and is treated with near hostility by the lords after showing his trust in Guilliman.
What will he do? Will/can the Emperor speak to him at all?

Gulliman specifically states in one of the Dark Imperium novels that he never does anything for one reason. There's always multiple reasons and potentially multiple angles to everything he does.
I'd rather see Lorgar replace Abandon as the big bad.
Lorgar is easily the best Traitor Primarch from a lore point of view. So many possibilities they could take with the narrative. Also not aligned to one god so would be a great Chaos Undivided Primarch to create your own custom traitor war bands around.
I don't know what Guilliman plans to do but it could end in the Lion waking up and taking charge of that side of the rift whilst grumbling about Girlyman playing Emperor again.
If Lorgar is back on crusade then we can likely guess that Corvus would be back with him, I would love to see Corvus save guilliman or Dante from death at lorgar‘s hands

I really wanna see Guilliman encounter the Tau Empire. If he’s made an alliance with Eldar, it’s likely he can make one with the Tau Empire, or perhaps even appreciate their way of ruling. Granted the Ethereals will be something Guilliman might not be on board with, but the idea of an interstellar empire, uniting multiple races under a single banner, and generally making the grimdark universe more liveable, would be a cause Guilliman would stand for. Do I mean Guilliman joins the Tau? Not at all, but he is disgusted by the Imperium, and desperately wants to help the Imperium’s people. The Tau Empire transform horrific hive worlds into cultural utopias, and treat the surviving humans right. Guilliman could surely benefit from them.
Is Caliban North of the Rift? Perhaps its time to wake up The Lion with a bucket of water?

Like, remember the revelation that it was Guilliman who arranged for the loyalist word bearer to help write the Ecclysiarchy’s scripture? Like… really? I get Guilliman is politically savvy and plays a long game but that’s hard to reconcile with what we know about him, at least as he was during the Heresy.
I also frankly don’t trust this writing team to do a Lorgar/Guilliman conversation justice.
Maybe they want to take Guilliman off the board for a while, have him get captured by something again, but dang.

Guillimam never arranged for the achorite to help write the ecchlisiarchy's religon, it was more or less an inadvertent side effect of him sparing the achorites life and choosing to imprison him rather than execute him. If anything that turn of events is a great representation of guillimans character, as in an attempt to be better than his traitorous brother and not immediately executing lorgars son he accidentally helps spawn a religon that has killed more people than the heresy ever could have. Its all a huge case of dramatic irony.

@@kylesonmez686 see that would actually track with what we know about Guilliman. He isn’t a fan of killing when he doesn’t have to. But I don’t know if it’s implied that he planned for the Word Bearer to be given pen and ink and spend a few centuries writing holy scripture. And become so important to the burgeoning cult that when he tries to off himself they have him put in a dreadnaught rather then lose him.
It is an interesting example though of the Emperor’s human aspect and his god aspect being an existential threat to each other. They can’t both live.
It would be nice for Guilliman to actually WIN a Primarch duel for a change. It's understandable that he couldn't best Fulgrim or Mortarion, but he's hopeless if he can't beat ORGAR(the wrakest 1v1 traitor Primarch).
To be fair he did manage to survive fighting Lorgar *AND* Angron simultaneously, almost killing both of them in the process

That does bring up an interesting point though; with Guilliman still around, the ministorum would most likely not exist, meaning no vandire, and no vandire means no super religious sisters of battle, so what would Guilliman have done had he encountered that planet of warrior women worshipping the emperor, from which the sisters descend?
with a Word Bearers release, i would want to see daemon primarch Lorgar. a daemon primarch for chaos united. i would also love to see plastic Gal Vorbak
I feel why he's going out there is to help Dante with all these new threats but I also think GW is going to play out a scene that when Guilliman comes back from all of these problems, the risen Lion, who had nothing substantial to stop him, swiftly takes over the southern part of the imperium

I think it’s important to say, now they’ve reorganised the timeline, Guiliman going to imperial nihilus and saving the blood angels is after the events of the dark imperium, and vigilus so if we are going by where the dawn of fire series currently is, the devastation of baal is still ongoing

Okay I am 5 minutes into the video yet. My answer would be: if you have a standing Armee, there is nothing worse you can do but to do nothing with it. A soldier has to do something. It is hard to explain to someone who never served for a military service but there is nothing worse than a bunch of soldiers who have nothing to do. So of course he has to keep going to crusade something.

Just think about what the people will think then the creator of the forgotten empire returns with one of the brothers who helped him lead it and he has a legion. It will be anarchy
I was wondering something about Dante, as we know he had a vision of him sacrificing himself in order to save the emperor on terra. Since Godblight and the emperor resurrecting and fighting through Guilliman's body, could it be possible that the emperor once again possesses some great hero of the imperium/Guilliman again, and that Dante sacrifices himself to save the emperor, still on Holy Terra, commanding another's body. Would it be possible for you ?

He’s more than likely trying to keep whatever he can together in the Imperium and try to find a way through the rift. This is as much a necessity as much as it is political, since a Primarch hasn’t been seen for the greater part of the past 10k years save for a blip here or there, but never in force.
Maybe the golden warrior that dantae saw wasn't himself, but Lorgar? Would be one major mindfuck if that was the case.

40k’s an awesome world but honestly I’m burnt out on how much they stretch everything out. Since it’s all make value be you would think they’d just make up new storylines instead of one spanning 80!books and still not complete
I started at 2nd edition 26 years ago - The Lore is progressing WAY faster these days. Not sure it needs to go any quicker.
I have created my own Unnumbered sons chapter. It's a secretly inserted Night Lord gene seed that is reported as a Raven Guard successor. My guys are loyal, currently, and unaware of their own origin. They just know that the Raven Guard "feel" off.
They are currently deployed in the vigilis sector. They go to war as a force disruptor. They tear down a target's communications and morale by utilizing stealth, assassinating Traitor leadership, disrupting supply chains and basically just being Very Bad Men. No enemy receives mercy, all are subject to their judgement..... pray you are found worthy.

Closing in on 100,000, congrats. The movement in the story is simply too slow; The Lion has been set to return for ages now, get on with it. Also, the only person that should get to confront Logar should be Corax!
how can there be a legion sized quantity of fallen? I thought the fallen were only those that were on caliban that had defected to luther and many had been killed during the battle for caliban and others hunted down by the unforgiven in the last 10,000 years?
It's only natural that there would be misunderstandings between Guilliman and Calgar. Primarchs often appeared aloof even to their closest confidante. Now imagine a Chapter Master doing his best with severely diminished resources and no Primarchs. Now imagine a Primarch showing up, retaking command and changing things up seemingly at a whim. Bitterness even, would be understandable. Imagine the disasters that could have been avoided with full Legionnes Astartes as a bulwark. Guilliman took that from the Astartes.
i have a feeling we might have to wait many more years before another loyal primarch will return. even if the lore/novel are teasing it, but i can be wrong

I really hope they stop writing Calgar as a petulant child and take it in the direction of him continuing to show faith and eventually has it out with Guilliman, and comes to realise most fathers are hardest on their sons.. Don't need another faithless traitor.. Calgar been leading a losing fight and pulled some stunning victories, he deserves better and deserves better writing
They also need a plan, yes create a bastion but it's time to get collecting Blackstone and get the Eldar involved... Guilliman is an empire builder he needs help
