  • Standing as we do now on the precipice of change, will a move to a different planet be the solution for the future?
Ryan MacDonald is one of the final 100 Astronaut Candidates in Mars One's Astronaut Selection Programme. A one way trip to the red planet! He is a Physics Master's student at the University of Oxford where he is carrying out preliminary design work on a sample return mission to Mars's moon Phobos.

One of the key things I think a lot of people don't realize could easily come from a Mars colonization mission is better recycling technology and better renewable energy sources/efficiency. I really hope MarsOne is a success, but regardless it's an amazing endeavor. Good luck.

Most arguments about such benefits are fallacies. You don't need to go to Mars to improve recycling.

@@7errafirma No, you don’t need to, but it certainly helps. How do you get political will behind spending large quantities of money on something? You need a charismatic project that captures people’s imaginations. How do you get your best and brightest to work on a problem? You make it interesting and immediate. Whats a way to accomplish this goal? One way is a mars push…

+Martian Colonist Interesting channel you have there. Are there other TH-cam channels by the remaining 100 finalists that you could/ would recommend? I can understand if you don't want to recommend them.

I designed Mars Rovers 1987,as ghostwriter for Star Trek.I found People on Mars 2004 .If you google my name I have posted pics of People & animals on Mars. But maybe TH-cam removes LINKS,so I'll just give my name Jerry with a "Y" and LEHANE,so you can see the Martians I and others found since 2004.That way you can be LESS LIED TO,and more informed.See the IMAGES,and see the future.
