    I can't wait for the 78U 😮 Just in time cuz I need a new Urethane ball!

    Journey release video said TX16 Solid reactive with a touch of pearl? Bowlers Mart also has it listed that way...

    I'm interested to see what the urethane !Q can do. I'm guessing they're pairing the !Q tour with the new harder urethane, because the hard urethane will want to be cleaner down the lane and weaker overall. 500 grit OOB, plus an early and smooth core, will help the weaker cover pickup. I hope that's the case anyway. Weaker urethane works great on modern, low volume house shots that are dry cliffed thanks to the USBC revoking the 3 Unit Rule a couple of years ago. I'd love to see this new urethane cover used more down the road if that's the case.

      I'm not a Storm nor Brunswick fanboy, I like all bowling balls, but from what I'm seeing Hammer's approach to the new rules seems like the better option.

    So excited for the !q I love my !q tour and if I get a more control version I’d be happy

    IQ Urethane is a super great idea! And having a harder cover will let it be even smoother and more controlled. This one could be a winner. And like you, love Crimson color bowling balls.

    The !Q 78 Urethane looks good, Control 78 Coverstock, i think, will be stronger plus it's at 500 grit finish and that Centripetal Core will drive it hard through the pins, not sure if this ball has to do anything with next year's PBA season of the urethane rules?, we'll see.

    I agree. The black widow and jackals and those giant balls play havoc on the lanes but they do it in a different manner than a urethane.
    The big core big cover reactive balls kind of steal the oil from the lane where the urethane moves it somewhere else.
    Depending on the balls you have in your bag, one or the other can be a problem or not a problem that is to follow those balls

    I just picked up a Pitch Black back in July and I'm cool with it
    However I always said an IQU would be dope and here it is. Possible replacement?? We shall see

      Yeah I was about to pick up a pitch black, but I saw the nu hammer and figured storm would be releasing a new urethane. So glad to see it's an iq

    Red is one of the first colors our brain perceives, allegedly, due to various reasons. I wonder if they chose that color for the 78/U so it would stand out on the ball rack.

    Is the IQ 78 U just a US roll out of the IQ/U overseas ball? Just spec'd to make sure it is 78 hardness?

      @andyw2550 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I've heard the IQ|U is also 78D. I've done some testing on mine and it appears to be true. I also got 73-75D when reading in the track line after throwing games with it. I'm curious how the 2 will compare, but I'm guessing Storm did some tweaks to the cover on the IQ 78-U to make it slightly different than the IQ|U as the coverstocks have different names. I plan on running some tests between the 2 when I get the new one but I suspect they will be very close.

    Will the IQ 78 u be PBA approved?

    • @monstershayne
      @monstershayne ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, any urethane now must be manufactured at a minimum of 78 hardness

    • @Nailv
      @Nailv ปีที่แล้ว

      How long will it take for it to get soft. I'm sorry don't know that much about urethane

    • @monstershayne
      @monstershayne ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Nailv guess i should also clarify that rule is for PBA only.
      From my research: Urethane balls produced at 73 hardness can drop down to 2 to 3 points in only 10 shots, making them way too soft. The reason they increased to a production number of 78 is so that when they do soften, it won't be to such a low number. The drop to say 73 to 69 is much more significant than a drop from 78 to 74. So they will still soften, I assume in the same amount of time, but the increase in softness will not be as drastic.

    Another ball by a company that relies on surface friction vs what the leading manufacturer does with chemical friction first. Ever wonder why SPI has so many balls over the years with rgs higher that 2.5?
