I bet that metal Corrugated siding on the barn is causing some issue . I would try running a line from the barn to like a tripod where you have the clients receiver set up just temporary and see if you can increase speed. Just to test it. And if you find it it's working better set up some sort of a permanent solution
Do you have any thoughts on the ubiquity rocket prism with a sector antenna? I’m in the same boat as you trying to get internet about 1/2 km without a clear los. Thanks
@mobleyMobley now I guess starlink, and yes, there is better. There is a dish 24 dpi 2.4ghz you installed airfiber 2.4ghz, a very strong device airfiber x2
Ok so i am a bit late to the show here but you should hide your IP address when running speed test for one. The other thing is the way you setup the beams you should protect the wires a bit better from uv or use outdoor rated wire. Lastly, I have a building 4100 feet away that has living quarters in it so I trenched conduit from the house to the building and put 62.5 SM fiber for 100Gbps connection. The Ubiquiti beams as used as a backup and very solid
If the power poles go all the way to your house you can run a fiber wire from pole to pole then put a media converter at each end to go back to cat5. I work for a phone isp that runs fiber and the wire is really light real easy to get it up high you just need a 28ft ladder to put it on the poles haha
Did you change any default settings for the radios? You can probably get some extra improvement by changing the power output and looking into how your constellation looks, as well as a firmware update.
Hi All, I am living in India amd we have Tplink here. Can someone tell me good model for a 2 km wireless connection? I night have handful of coconut trees inbetween. I am thinking of CPE220. (This ubiquity antennas are not sold in India. If I import these, it costs lot more)
Kind of a misleading title. This isn’t really a solution for anybody running any net work as you have to have the ubiquity system at the core. Put that in the title. Be more specific.
Not true...we use Palo Alto as a FW. You can use the free version of Ubiquiti just to adopt and setup. You then don't need Ubiquiti outside of the P2P being first setup
great info. thanks. Lovely modern house btw

Luckily the new setup has been working very well, even as Spring has arrived in NY and the trees have their full foliage out.
nanostation ac was enough for this but the nanobeam ac gen2 are great too. great job
I am constantly impressed with the quality of Ubiquiti products and also how fast they evolve and improve their product lineup.

Your house is set back 1,320 ft from the road. That's slightly over 400m. Two fifth of a click (military Americanism for kilometers).
Instead of cutting the trees use 2.4 powerbeam 18dbi very powerful device and can go throw forest
Is there anything better?

Question for you. I am looking at setting up a wireless long range target camera out to 1000y. Do you think this would work well?
Yeah, this would be a good setup for that. Still working strong one year later.

IP Addresses don't matter if you show them

So no router on the "receiving end"?

how do you connect one of these and how do you set it up
Why would your upload be slower? What's your upload speed at the house?
I agree. Makes no sense
@@greg.dg_ Upload speed is always slower?
With trees it is best to use 2.4 GHz over 5GHz

Try cpe tp link 710 great unit and giga port
Do you have any T-Mobile towers nearby? If so, you can try a less complex solution, T-Mobile Home Internet, $50/month, no data caps.
Hey everyone, can someone recommend best radio for me. I need to cover a distance of about 35km and there is no CLS (clear line of site)
Thanks
900mhz with a yagi or a powerbeam ac 400 2.4ghz, all depends on height of the two locations and how much obstructions are inbetween
Prism 5g with 2 dishes 34 dbi you should be fine but you need Los
Im guessing you will be getting Starlink now
I'm on the waitlist, if I get one there will be a new video on that for sure ☺️
Why don't you increase the height of both devices rather than cutting the trees? you will get a clear line of sight then.
I got a quote to put in a utility pole at the barn that was something like $15k USD. Cutting the trees was cheaper in my case.
@@hivepark6844 run fiber you can run MM 62.5 about 1/4 miles ., buy cheap conduit ., and bury the conduit with the fiber inside
@@hivepark6844 you can have it pre-made
Call us for a direct link without using a relay... We build towers for individuals.
Good
Why don't you just put a message in for the Umbrella corporation tech support?
I'm sure Umbrella already knows
This comment is a shitpost, but...
do you have maples, and will this help you monitor tapping them?
run fiber MM 62.5
Curious, why 62.5? Thats OM1 and ancient MM fiber.
set upboth sets of ptp and trunk it youll get better uploads
