I’ve been lucky enough to ride on the beach a number of times! It’s the BEST! I’ve been on several trips to Jamaica where we rode on the beach and also actually swam the horses in the ocean. Riding a swimming horse is a whole new level of coolness! The movement is so different, and you really have to hang on for dear life bc the drag of the water tries to pull you off backwards (especially while riding bareback!) On several of my trips, we all had to ride in the water, since many in the group were complete beginners, and obviously it’s much less dangerous if you fall off in the water. However, on one outing, my friend and I (who had both been riding competitively for over 20 years at the time) were allowed to gallop our horses up and down the beach bareback. What fun! The waters of the Caribbean are just as beautiful as the waters in Portugal, and the beaches just as lovely. I’ve also been blessed enough to take my own horse to the beach several times, while competing at shows near the seaside. My German warmblood show jumper had never seen the ocean before, but she was amazingly brave, and even walked in the surf (which is quite scary for horses not used to it, as the sand slipping out from under their hooves as the waves recede can be quite disconcerting). But my mare was a ⭐️! My gelding, who my trainer was riding, wanted NOTHING to do with the water, but we still had a blast galloping them up and down the beach! I’m so glad you got to experience this for yourself. Beach rides really are magical. Next time you have the opportunity, take the horse out swimming. It’s such a cool feeling! Also, just wanted to say, what a gorgeous destination. Now I want to go to Portugal!
One was jet black and a true Zorro horse. Reared up and came off the ground at a flying plastic bag while riding through a picnic area. The other a grey, the type representing sherry/jerez. Both were such smooth rides especially at a trot. Having said that they are fast on galloping! If I was offered one, it would be hard to refuse. So, if you go to Spain check the breed out.
I have met Lusitano's before, as a friend of mine breeds them in New Zealand and they are a beautiful Breed. She has a Mare that acts more like a Stallion!!
As an Iberian horse rider, I watch your videos because your Connemara mares remind me of Iberian mares. It is so nice to see horses of that quality doing diverse work. I am enjoying watching a Connemara rider experience Iberian horses more directly. I am looking forward to seeing a Connamara mare eventer rider dressage on top quality Iberian horses!!!!

I’m going to have to disagree with your portrayal of TB’s as “quiet” 😂. I’ve owned one myself, not off the track, and have had many boarders at my farm who owned and rode TB’s (mostly show jumping). 99.9% of them were QUITE hot and always wanting to go fast - including mine! The OTTBs especially are QUITE a handful!
@@margauxnodvin7478 I have ridden TBs for 27 years - racing and retired. 'Most' have been very sensible and the type who go in a rubber snaffle. Some would not canter in a group behind others though 😃. Always sweeties to handle

please go to Zimbabwe!! there is an amazing place called Antelope Park that you can go to and ride with giraffes, wildebeest, zebra and so much more! you can also go swimming at a dam, feed elephants and ride on the cross-country course!! i recommend going October. love your videos!!
What a lovely beach! I’m pleased but shocked it wasn’t covered with other people riding, walking, swimming, tanning. It seems there are so few private beaches anymore. What a luxury to be alone!

Hope you had fun! 🫶🏼 P.S.: The brown saddle is a Portuguese style saddle, usually used to work in the field, in fairs (like Golegã), bullfighting and working equitation! It’s actually really comfortable and really keeps you in there even in hairy moments!

Need to say the "egg cup" is a protection not sure why they used it on you we use it to teach youngsters how to ride without needing to go head on to the 0lacement of the feet and them getting stuck or slipping Edit: we don't ride with such long stirups, at least I don't and that pirtuguese saddle is traducionaly made with pig skin but it's not really for dressage, it is for "equitação clássica" or classic equitacion ig kk which is our own ridding style, good videos of that in the internet
