Wow, that looked absolutely amazing!! Gorgeous horses, you looked very smart on the ones you rode! That laser printing thing was really cool. Thanks for sharing your adventure xx
Thank you they were both lovely horses and well behaved! I am so so chuffed with the logo boots! The detail is quite amazing considering it’s on leather :-) x
Yes this is a very good point. Like my Alta Escuela Spanish saddle- you really need to sit. I did find the Portuguese saddle quite comfy. Doma Vaquera is just so heavy but comfortable!
What a great video! I'm considering booking a 10 day tour through Cavago with a few days during the Golega Horse Fair in 2025. How did you find them to work with? I'll be going from the US and have lots of riding experience, but not much in dressage. I really want to see and experience the working equitation, which they do offer during the 10 day tour, in addition to some dressage and riding in the Manga.
Hi Kerri; sorry only just seen this! I think Cavago are pretty rigorous in their checking of potential hosts so I’m sure you will be fine going with them. You don’t need to be a dressage rider as such but the horses there are generally trained in a classical way so are sensitive to your seat and balance and probably don’t take kindly to harsh reins and busy legs. For the manga you need to be fairly confident and competent but obviously a lot depends on your horse too! I would think anyone taking hosted rides there will put you on a horse that has done the fair before so it will know what to expect and not be too hyped up! Have an amazing time- working equitation is great fun so definitely have a go if you get the chance! :-)

Bex, well -have a good day. ))
Love this. So want to go next year!
It’s definitely one to tick off the lifetime experiences! :-)
Thanks for sharing x inspired me to get my ass into gear for next year and get Guapo de Lopez aka Lolly out and about to the shows. x
Be a long way to take them! 😆 although friends of mine did take their horses from the UK to ride there!
The thing is you can’t do standing trote on a Portuguese saddle
