Basically people cancel people for things they said a long time ago (Specifically when they weren't mature) so this kid is waiting till he is mature to use any social media so he doesn't get canceled in the future

@@bridgetmadden5716it’s responsible, but it’s also kind of sad, IMO. I only think years-old tweets (or other content) are really fair to hold against someone if they’re supporting a larger and current pattern of behavior.
If someone said something racist online when they were 22, and went on to learn why they were wrong and corrected their behavior, then I don’t think it’s fair to dig it up and hold it against them at 32 as if they’re currently being racist. However, if that person is out here spouting off racist nonsense at 32, and tweets from when they were 22 surface reflecting similarly racist sentiments, I think it’s fair game because it’s showing that this is something that’s been going on for a long time and is clearly a part of who they are.
Don’t get me wrong, cancel culture has definitely been effective in holding people accountable for their shitty choices. But I do think some people take it a bit too far and don’t allow people to grow and change.

My personal experience with a karen:
so basically, i was a kindergarten.
    *KINDERGARTEN OK*
And I was at the book store and I pick up this picture book and this older lady stares at my mom and asks "why are you letting your kid read THOSE kinds of books?"
my mom looks at her like "wot???" and the lady says "how can you let your kid be so dumb. My kid can read novels" and my mom says "well, how old is your kid?" and the lady says he was 13. My mom laughs then says "My child is only 5 of course she cant read a novel." then the lady suddenly got really angry and stomps on the ground and says "DONT LAUGH AT ME! AT LEATS MY KID ISNT AN IDIOT LIKE YOU" to which my mom then says "well im not the one throwing a fit like a toddler" the lady mad as heck storms off and complains to the manager. The manager comes out and asks my mom why she slapped the woman. We explained everything that happened and that my mom never hit her and we had a witness prove we werent lying :|
Like the situation was dumber than dumb
of course a kindergartener cant read like the flip-

officialmer dude, just because you and I both were reading novels in kindergarten, doesn’t mean that everyone else can at that age. You have to remember that normies and some more relaxed parents don’t always think to encourage their kids very far past the norm that early. It’s different if the kid wants to learn more, but if they don’t and they’re a normie or even above average, then why worry more than needed

(Note, I already had issues with this woman as her kid would punch me and She kept saying “mY bAbY wOuLd NeVeR dO tHAt, liAr”.) I get in my moms car and the woman opens the car door and goes “your daughter kicked my baby in the leg” when the principal told her I simply moved it. She got half her body in the car, then touched my arm and went “sweetie you can’t hurt other k-“. Before she could finished my mom punched her in the nose (my mom is very overprotective) and went “don’t fucking touch my daughter”. Long story short the EM tried to file charges, but it was dropped because she was trespassing in the car. My mother was banned from car line for a month, and my dad had to pick me up.

First story: Even better, OP should've turned this into a malicious compliance and just asked the lady if she really wanted to drive to "X company" at "Y address" just to speak with his manager.
Second story: Honestly, I would've go by the 3 strike rule if I ever resigned from such a disorganized workplace. First strike, I tell them politely that I no longer work for them and to delete my info. Second strike, I warn them that if they call me again, I'll file a harassment charge against them. If they don't get the point across before the third strike, they have to suffer the consequences.
Third story: I think rSlash said it well. There is no more defining trait for a Karen than their delusion that everyone owes them something one way or another.
Fourth story: Welp, I wouldn't wanna be in the shoes of the hotel receptionist who had to answer the call from that Karen after this story took place.
Fifth story: One of my philosophies is that it's the kindest people with a tough appearance that you should never get on the wrong side of.
Sixth story: You know, even without the red shirt, there's still a slight chance that OP's son would've become ... _Targeted._

Karens have been around for along time.
This happened to me when I worked at a local Stop N Go convenient store back in 1989-90. I worked 3rd shift since this store was open 24/7/365. My shift started at 10pm and went until 7am so I could be there to help with the morning new papers and early morning deliveries. Earlier in the day the Pepsi delivery was made and they brought in at least 50 trays of 2 liters of Pepsi products. They posted a huge sign in one of the 4 foot by 6 foot windows with the special sale price on i. They had also posted a sign on the main entrance door stating the price and sale special. They had also posted a huge display sign on the 2 liters themselves with the pricing special.
I had just finished the shift change and the 2nd shift worker was finishing up their last bit of stocking in the coolers. I am at the cash register since there were a couple customers inside and a couple getting gas when this one lady rushes inside walks really fast to where the 2 liters are and walk around really fast to a couple other areas and then comes up to me at the register and asks me "How much is that Pepsi?". At that point 3 of the other customers that were close to the register waiting to be checked out started laughing madly as I said "Did you see any of the 3 huge signs around with the price on them?". She then huffed all the way back to the Pepsi display and grabbed 3 of the 2 liter bottles and slammed them down on the counter expecting me to check her out ahead of those already waiting in line. Needless to say I checked out 5 other customers, the 3 already inside and 2 that came inside to pay for their gas as she stood there just tapping her foot like I was to be at her beck and call.
I was at least polite to her as I checked her out and did the whole nice cashier thing and once she was at the door I asked if she had seen any of the signs yet. Good thing the door had one of those nice hefty plungers on it since she tried to slam the door shut and failed at that as well. I had my entertainment for the night and my shift had only begun.

"he's old enough *and heavy enough* that kidnapping is not likely". Oh my god. I want to meet these parents, say, talk to the son's manager. And tell them they they're awesome.
Edit: it's sad that the kid doesn't have social media, because he's afraid of getting cancelled over a mistake or saying something stupid. It wasn't all that long ago that people would just call you on saying something stupid, you'd day "you know what? You're right. That was a long time ago, I've changed since then, and didn't realise that would harm people. Sorry, my bad!" and everyone would move on with their lives.
Kid, if you (or your managers) ever read this: try not to let it stop you. Almost anyone has some stupid shit on their timeline from forever ago if you go back far enough. If someone wants to call you out, just be completely honest. "yeah, i did say that, but I didn't realise it is as harmful at the time. I'm also not literally 12 anymore".
This sort of thing shits me to tears. Happens all the time in the furry fandom, for whatever reason. Once someone gets the tiniest bug up their arse about anything, instead of just farting it out and moving on like a normal person, they leave the bug there, to grow, feed, fester, breed, do everything but deal with it. But once that bug is in their arse, it's there forever. It's like they don't realise that people change and evolve over time. It's sad. Makes me ashamed to be a furry, honestly.

    • @ram89572
      @ram89572 3 ปีที่แล้ว

The world has gotten significantly shittier since the introduction of social media. The kid is definitely making the better choice to stay off of it and keep those scummy ass tech companies from selling everything they can about him. Frankly I serious doubt his NFL dreams will ever come to fruition since that number of successes is tiny compared to the number of people in this country, but not getting canceled out of some celebrity job isn't the only worry. I'm 32. I grew up in an era before social media and the era where it was developing. I ended up being grown by the time it was as big as it is now. I've seen the decline in society. The open embracing of communist ideas fueled by collectivist idiots. The idea that someone has the right to call your work and get you fired (successfully) for things completely unrelated to your job. The sharing of outright lies. The bullying to make people comply withthe leftist agenda. Social media is for suckers and best avoided.
Edit: Also words are not violence and anyone who wants someone "canceled" for something they said can go straight to hell. Calling some minority a slur is not harming that person. They can get right the fuck over it.

I was 11 years old the first time I had to tell someone “I don't work here lady”. I'm shopping with my mother in a department store, looking for her size dress pants for her job. This woman taps me on the shoulder and asks me to go get her these clothes she's holding in her size. The first time, but not the last time I say to someone “Lady I don't work here. I'm 11 years old. And I think store employees are not allowed to wear cut off shorts, tee-shirts with words on them, and flipflops. Go away.” She then asks me “why I'm hanging up clothes if I don't work here?” “Because I knocked them down, and my momma told me to clean up the mess I made, and to not make more work for other people, to be a good citizen. Why what'd your mother tell you to do when you made a mess?”. Gaping fish mouth to follow. Then she asked if I had seen any employees anywhere, “I saw a lady with a name tag on go that way awhile ago”. My mother is at the next rack laughing at me. My mother is obviously old enough to be working there, and dressed very nicely, never occurred to that woman to ask her anything... WTH?
Unfortunately this was the first time, but not the last time. This has been happening since 1975. The last time it happened was a few months ago. It's been about 50 years of this. My mother and husband think it's hilarious, they say it's because I have a “May I help you” face.
Worst one was in a JCPenney store after I got off work, I switch busses at the mall to get home. I'm wearing my work uniform, khaki pants, fish covered shirt, ID badge on a lanyard. The woman grabbed my arm forcibly to try and pull me around as I'm looking at merchandise to buy. I told her “if you don't want to draw back a nub you better take your hands off of me.” I stood at least 4 inches taller than her. She said “how dare I talk to a customer that way!”. I said “How dare you grab a customer that way b-itch! I don't work here, I have a real job”. She said “of course you work here you have a name tag on!” “No, I have a security badge on in my lanyard, where they do background checks on people with my job, retail sales doesn't do that. And I just got off work.”. Her response was still “but you have a name tag on! Wait on me.” My response... “Bite me.” and I walked off. That woman left marks on my arm where her nails dug into me. She's dang lucky I didn't punch her. But my husband already warned me if I punch one of these crazy women he's not bailing me out. He's seen it happen, where they keep on and I ball up my fist, he grabs me before I launch a punch, and herds me away. One of these days I'm gonna hit someone that leaves marks on me... I'm too dang old for this nonsense anymore.
I have nearly 50 years of “I don't work here lady!!!”. But I love hearing other people's stories about this.
Take care, stay safe, have a nice day.
