I cannot wait to see this. I had the privilege of meeting LB in Tanglewood back in 1988 and it remained for me the greatest moment of my life. It will be weird and strange in a good way to watch a film about someone I met, and I'm sure many others will feel the same.
Bravo Bradley… Eres el mejor 😍 Ahora si nada te detendrá. Vamos por ese Oscar que te quitaron en la película “A Star is Born” Que nada te detenga, ya ese Oscar es tuyo 😍😍🥰❤❤
As a Mahler disciple who studied with Bernstein in the 1980s, AMEN. This film captured his essence, just as he captured Mahler and Brahms in his performances with us at Tanglewood in 1985.
This movie is based on misinformation. I posted a video about Leonard Bernstein on my TH-cam channel that documents what he was really doing as a conductor. There's a phenomenon in the press where they pick 2 or 3 classical musicians and designate them as SACRED COWS. No matter what the sacred cows do on stage, the press refers to it as "the greatest." Bernstein was one of those sacred cows. The television appearances he did show him adding trumpets to the orchestra with Beethoven's symphonies and then when asked about Beethoven's ability to orchestrate, he says, " IT'S BAD! HE HAS THE TRUMPETS STICKING OUT AND THEY'RE DROWNING OUT EVERYBODY ELCE." He trashed the sound of Beethoven's symphony and his reputation.
Bernstein's take on Beethoven was much more nuanced than you are describing. He also admired him greatly. Watch him speak about "Ode to Joy" and how he calls it the greatest musical achievement. Bernstein's standing is not based on what press writes about him. He is revered for a reason.
He wasn't smart enough to write a symphony. He faked it by writing simple composition forms (suite and theme and variations) and putting the title symphony on it. Being brainwashed by sacred cow coverage is a form of intellectual failure. Not being able to differentiate between a suite and a symphony is another problem.@@proman84
This project started 15 yrs ago with a team who pitched this to producers to get it made. It had a whole different focus on Bernstein's life than the movie storyline. BRAD joined and flipped the script. They highjacked someones project. Hope those original guys get to make their own version of a project.
@tekkenchampion832 No, I don't. I just saw another group of people who were the originators of the project. I just sounded like the boss taking all the credit. Happy holidays anywaze.

The proper spelling is "hijacked." Example: The project was not hijacked.
You know this is how Hollywood works?
