Your awesome !!!!! Your videos are awesome. Extremely knowledgeable, proven trust worthy, I enjoy your videos for the last few years. Keep up the good work buddy your well watching Wayde Gilbank.
That looks like an awesome kayak. All your Kokanee videos have greatly improved my catch rate down here in California! I went from landing about 2 to 5 fish a trip and loosing 10-15 others to landing a 3 double limits in a row! Thanks for all the great information. The hook video was a life saver.
Those days are the best! I’ve got my brother and dad obsessed with the sport now. For our first year of fishing for Kokanee 89 fish in the last few trips isn’t too bad. Definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without your videos. Thanks again. I’ve also been able to share some of the knowledge I’ve gained with other anglers which feels great as well.
Cant wait till my AP120 gets delivered. Have everything ready to mount. It's my 1st kayak...already have my power sled. I hope I dont get rid of it...lol. Getting into kayak to be able to get some high lakes.
Love your videos on Kokanee trolling! I have the same kayak and love it! Makes trolling a walk in the park. And, I just picked up the Poulsen Cascade setup you recommended for trolling. OMG! They are so easy to use! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I’m in Utah and we have some solid Kokanee fisheries. Your videos have helped increase my catches.
Thanks Tyler! I live on the oregon coast and enjoy watching your videos. Just purchased Old Town 120 autopilot. You’ve been a lot of help putting accessories on my boat. Thanks again!
Another great video! I have seen many intros about this kayak, but much in trolling perspective. Thanks a lot for sharing! This could be my next kayak, but my only concern is the weight. That is quite heavy for solo car topping.
Bro, you need to consult with a kayak Manufacture. Use your expertise to help design an Ulimate fishing Rig. Your the perfect person for this all your subscribers would agree I am Sure
I think I would take those two forward facing rod holders out and install two flush scotty mounts. The holes look to be about the same size already for both and then you have the option for any scotty accessory including the scotty lake troll downriggers. Would be cool to see you try for kokes and lakers up on bead lake north of spokane
Can you provide more info on how long you can go out trolling with the set-up and battery you are using. I really like this kayak, but very concerned on the trolling time and distance I can travel. I’m not looking at going full speed, my normal trolling speeds are between 1.2 and 2.0 miles an hour. Thank you for any info you can provide.
I've done up 14 miles and still not depleted the battery at 1.5 mph in light wind no current. I am running a 100 ah lithium battery from Amped Outdoors
@@spiltmilt Thank you for the reply, love your productions. I watched 75% of all them. If your ever interested in fishing Colorado lakes Blue Mesa for Kokanee and Lakers or Lake Granby for Lakers. I’ve got a cabin at Granby so it makes it easy and comfortable. Let me know.
Absolutely. Its proven extremely reliable. I have the GPS/DI model for helping to target walleye and bass. You really don't need Down Imaging if you are just trolling for salmon/trout/kokanee
@@spiltmilt Thanks Tyler! I'm hoping to get an Autopilot later this year. Just don't seem able to peddle as long as I'd like to anymore, especially in current.
Can you use multiple drives in one kayak? e.g. swap out the pedal drive with the electric motor when you feel like it? Or does each propulsion method require its own boat?
There is no mounted trolling motor that will swap directly into the pedal hole on the Old Town Kayaks. That said, you can always add a transom motor, or there are adapters for side mounting. Check out some of the customer videos and photos at Newport Vessels. newportvessels.com/collections/trolling-motors/products/kayak-series-kayak-trolling-motor I haven't decided to get a trolling motor yet, but if I did I'd probably go with this company. Right now I'm having too much fun pedaling my Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL kayak.
Well I saw your pics of the fires near your house I hope you are ok. I have a question for you. I have recently bought a Oldtown sportsman autopilot 120. Do I need to register it in Washington state?
Great info as usual. Do you bleed you fish immediately ? I put in lively but they usually die by the time I get back to shore ? Not sure how to keep them cold in hot weather if I kill them right away ?
If I could have only one I would go with the PDL 120. Its lighter and no need to worry about battery charge. That being said the range on the AP120 is incredible and if you are physically limited then its an amazing boat with great features.
I am seriously interested in this kayak. My concern would be being able to get it up on top of my Ram 1500. Do you find it any more difficult to car top than the 120 PDL?
I dont see the point of a electric powered kayak personally. I would buy a aluminum boat with outboard at that point. You lose the exercise/activity aspect, you still are extremely slow, cost is up there, limited on space, stability is less, you have to register in many states with dmv, not set up for passangers and the list goes on.. i do appeciate you showing it to us though..
All valid points. However, it still has some advantages including: 1.) I can car top it so I don't need a trailer 2.) I don't have to register it unless I go on federal navigable waters 3.) I have spot lock so I can effectively anchor in any depth of water without the danger of dealing with an anchor rope 4.) Not everyone has the same physical capacity to paddle/pedal for hours on end and this opens up opportunities to them 5.) I can still beach launch and avoid launch fees or hit under-fished areas 6.) If the motor dies I can still paddle it reasonably well compared to a powerboat Also I really don't feel limited on space but then I've fish from much smaller craft my whole life and I've always maintained that one of the great benefits of kayak fishing is no one asks you to take them fishing!!! LOL
@@spiltmilt Personal preference would be the biggest factor too. I personally got my kayaks for the exercise/activity factor and in my state you have to register a kayak with a motor. For use in any federal navigable waters a powered vessel must be registered.
