    While there are a lot of different shooting courses you can find around the country, there are not a lot of Force on Force courses focused around the reality of violence. Enter the AMTAC Shooting Force on Force 2 Day Course...
    Everything taught during those two days directly relates to self defense. Everything from continually drawing out from concealment one handed, to how to handle knives, to a incredibly thorough mindset talk.
    This is not the course for putting on battle belts, plate carriers and the like. It is where you show up with your EDC (Every Day Carry), both clothes and weapons, and find out how to use those tools.
    I would highly encourage anyone who is serious about defending themselves and their families to check out Bill Rapier's course. You can find the Course Schedule for AMTAC Shooting here: www.amtacshoot...

    Not entirely relevant, but it needs to be said. I ordered a Northman from Amtac Blades right before Thanksgiving. I had an issue with the sheath and the tip of the blade did break (1/16" give or take). I wrote to Bill to explain my limited experience with the blade. Not only did Bill take the time to CALL ME, but he offered to send a new sheath after he offered to re-sharpen/re-contour the tip of the blade. All he asked is that I mail it back. What a great guy. We actually shot the sh*t for a while and he gave me some great pointers on how and where to carry the Northman in relation to my pistol. As soon as I have enough cash saved up, I'm training with Bill. Can't say enough good things about our short conversation and the backing of his blade. Buy with confidence.

    I took one of his courses recently and I can't say enough good things about it. Bill is an incredible instructor who is extremely humble considering that he is one of the most knowledgeable and baddest dudes on the planet. His material is relevant and it actually works.

    1. Don't carry your pistol appendix (No matter how HIP it may seem), violates rule 2, second, you should never have to remove your focus from the target in order to put your gun back in the holster or remove and insert a mag into the mag well. 3. Why on earth would I put my arms up so far as to block my vision to scan the area? (Other bad guys may enter the fray and if I block my vision, I won't see them) Ever heard of "Third eye concept"? 4. Never stand up straight. Causes your upper body to move reward and force your shots ever so slightly up on the target. Lean forward over you beltline. 5. If you are in a knife fight, it's really bad. Your best just touching whatever is available with your knife and try to disengage (And go to your gun) as you can lose your knife very easily. Respect to Mr. Rapier for his service.

    If you ever come across good training based in the upper midwest please make that known. I would make a trip to GA for these guys but even that is quite a journey for me. Worth it, but a far trip! Good video!

      I'm not sure of anyone based out of there, but there are a number of instructors that travel out that way. Some do courses if you can fill the seats too. I'd reach out to AMTAC if you're interesting in hosting one.

    Looks likes an awesome course, I thought everyone worked on one hand draws.. if not they should it's kinda come down to what I do the most since I'll most likely have my dog on leash in my other hand or some other object I can't really afford to not pull with one hand only.

    Thanks for focusing a bit on the philosophy behind the importance of single-hand reps. Very much an “ah-hah” moment for me. I wanted to ask about your experience with the HK P30. If I’m reading your subtle cues, you’re liking but not loving it. Are you going to do a review? Specifically, did you run into issues with grip and obstructing the slide lever? That’s my issue, but it could be a problem I have to work out with my XL meat mits.

    looks like some pretty sweet training good stuff that you're starting training into stabby stuff as well in close hand to hand stuff knowing how to handle yourself with a variety of weapons might save your bacon in a tough spot. Have you done much in the way of hand to hand or weaponless martial farts?? do you carry a little fixed blade for EDC?also like the force on force stuff that's really a good way to test out if what you think rocks actually rocks or if you're really cementing stuff that'll get you waxed when the time comes.

    • @KitBadger
      @KitBadger  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I often carry the Northman.

    What's your educated opinion on appendix vs. other methods of carry?

    • @KitBadger
      @KitBadger  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they all potentially have their place. Ultimately, whatever is most comfortable for you. Because if you aren't comfortable, you probably won't carry, at which point... :)

    How far out did you have to schedule one of these? Year? I want to do one of these to improve my skills but mental preparation is everything, missing my left hand forced me to create my own styles of CAR/Wick while trying to maintain safety but being in a class with other people has me nervous on my precision. Been trying to perfect the appendix draws and reloads so I can even do pistol courses.

    • @KitBadger

      Take a look at his schedule, there is a link in the description. If you have questions, reach out to him. It is worth traveling for in my opinion.

    Very nice review :) Now, if i may go a tad bit off topic, i have a question i hope you could settle for me lol! I do not have any firearms experience, and i would not exactly call my self an avid outdoors woman haha! But i had a discussion with this guy who claims that bear mace is far better against a angry bear than a firearm of the right caliber, could you weigh in on that :)?

    • @KitBadger
      @KitBadger  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only reason I personally would carry bear mace, is if for some reason I wasn't able to carry a firearm... :)

    Which mos in the marine core do you believe is best for becoming a contractor? I'm joining the marines and am decided which mos to join. My mind is on 0311 because I believe you learn how to use almost every weapon but at the same time I do not know much about the other mos's

    • @KitBadger

      Whatever MOS is Raider / MARSOC. And it is Marine Corps. :)
