I always crack up when the main villain is explaining his evil plan, and claiming that everyone hated him, over clips of him being invited to play, and greeted cheerfully.
I mean in hindsight, one of those kids looks like the one from the baseball team who beat him up. So yeah, not saying that Goob was in the right, but I'd be saying to that kid, "Cut the crap, f**k off.".
Not only that, he was so lost in delusion that he really thought that he was this close to bring down everything Lewis has built by using eggs and toilet paper. To top it all off, he didn’t even know how to use the damn thing. Now that, to me, is insane because what kind of villain robs someone else’s invention without having the knowledge of how it operates? Quoting Scar here, “I’m surrounded by IDIOTS.” 🤦♂
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that for once, the lady running the orphanage is NOT evil? Also, Bowler Hat Guy is just hilarious. This movie is so underrated.
Yeah see that’s the thing my personal circle and I never had bad experiences in orphanages/foster care so like TV shows that are not for kids always having the orphan or abandoned child have a tough time through “the system” very repetitive and unnatural for me. But now I’m 26 and have realised that it is a real thing. However blood families can do as much sometimes :(
Say what? Who ever said she was evil? I mean, sure, it’s very wrong to abandon your child but like Mildred said, she placed him there to give him the best chance in life that she can never give. If she really was evil, Lewis wouldn’t be in a orphanage.
We never find out what happened to Goob in the future after he was finally able to win his baseball game and be adopted into a nice family, but some of us like to think that Goob's words about baseball being his destiny were true and that he lived on to become one of the greatest baseball players that ever lived, raised his own family along side Cornelius and just overall lived a happy life with his friends and family.
Meet the Robinsons is very underrated but I always love the message of never hold on to the past and look to the future. I really grew up with this movie. And I’m so happy you get to react to it.
I’m surprised that literally no one talked about how Lewis’s invention is created because he was giving himself false hope after being rejected numerous times. Furthermore, I like how they emphasize the lesson that there is actually a benefit from failing. Personally, it would take some time for me to accept that because the last thing I want is to show everyone that I’m incompetent as a result to that. If I’m not careful at something, it can easily affect someone heavily.
@@mattybrunolucaszeneresalas9072 I’m saying that like Lewis, I’m fed up of failing every time because it happens to be a trend for some reason and the only reason of why he created the Memory Scanner is to see what his mother looks like with the hope of reuniting with her, even though it’s been years since that happen and by now, he can’t be certain of whether or not she’s even alive and vice verse for her, as well.
9:02 - I've since found out that the reason why the robots in both films looks SO similar is because both films are connected to author and artist William Joyce, who has a very specific Art Deco-influenced art style (he also was involved with the film Rise of the Guardians and the series George Shrinks).
Another neat little Easter egg: if you pay really close attention to the sounds in the opening scene, and the scene where Lewis goes back in time to see his mom, you'd realize that they actually sync up perfectly, in that Lewis was the noise that spooks his mom, as well as the one who knocked on the door in the beginning, after he'd already done everything.
Saw this movie back when I struggled in most on my classes in elementary school. Always said, that I'm gonna fail. But my teachers told me, "Keep Moving Forward". The older I got, the more I understood, and it lead me to be a far better student. So remember people, from failure you learn, from success... not so much. KEEP MOVING FORWARD
About the "I'm always right." quote: Before Lewis goes back in time, Franny tells Wilbur she knows Kung fu. The dinner scene in the future shows she was right.
Disney should have re-released this for their 100th. It's so underrated and came out a little before It's time, I feel like it would go OFF if it were released now.
Girl I notice something different every single time I’ve watched and I never noticed the “I think you’re right” at the end! When you said “he learned” wow lol. I love that movie. 10/10 original soundtrack lol
I believe Robots and Meet the Robinsons are written by the same person (along with rolly Polly olley and rise of the guardians) so it makes sense that you got them mixed up
I live by “keep moving forward” I just got diagnosed with anxiety and depression 2 weeks ago and it felt like the end of the world and I always need to remember this quote
2:49 Oh man, as someone who was also adopted and struggle with feeling appreciated or wanted, that line kinda hit hard for me. I feel bad for people in similar situations where they were given up for adoption and struggle with feeling wanted by others. This is a fun animated sci-fi comic comedy movie, and there were talks of a Sequel but it was cancelled as the film wasn't making enough money at the box office.
To be fair this movie was based off the book called “A day with Wilbur Robinson” by William Joyce. An American writer and illustrator who is also the writer, producer and production designer of Robots.
Thank you! I agree. Throw this one on the pile of "Really Good Movies Disney Abandoned Because It Didn't Make Money" along with Atlantis and Treasure Planet

Whenever I watched this movie on Disney Channel/Disney Junior, I'd hide under a blanket during the dystopian future scene cause the Robinsons controlled by the Doris hats creeped me out. 17:30 Yeah, that creeped me out too. 17:54. Who knew that a bowler hat would be such a terrifying villain? Anyways, I once heard the song "Little Wonders" from this movie played at a swim meet and I think I was the only one who recognized that it was from "Meet the Robinsons." It cracks me up whenever people say "Keep moving forward" and they're not trying to quote this movie.
I literally cry every time, but i love this movie sm!! And its so well written and so beautifully done!!! Very underrated and not at all deserved!!! ❤❤❤❤
I show this movie to my class every year because it has such an important message that kids don't get to hear to often. It's okay and important to fail and keep pushing forward.
I love this movie!! I think it’s a really sweet story of found family as you said, and they robbed us of seeing adult Goob with his timeline fixed. Super fun watch also love your earrings!!

Adoption is the only option for me personally- please consider someone who is already here, who already needs love and doesn’t believe they’re wanted, rather than going through all the trouble of birthing yet another lifeform onto the planet! And if you have the capacity within you, consider older kids who are at risk of aging out of the system and NEVER having a family- unless they start one themselves (and who, given they are often emotionally stunted from feeling unloved and unwanted, and the damage the system can inflict, may not do so).
Anyone else realize that Future Lewis most likely woke up in that cold sweat to build the time machines because of the events that happened in this movie? Too farfetched, you say? Consider: He remembered what he'd done to Goob, and was planning on going back in time to fix it, because he felt guilty. Only Goob beat him to it.

Recently I was telling my niece and nephew about my favorite Disney movies/shows growing up and this was top of my list. As I described my list to them it dawned on me that so many of the films I loved had foster/adopted protagonists, and I wonder if that influence my desire to adopt children one day.
Wilbur is one of my favorite characters along with Danny phantom and Jake long. Basically if you had black hair or had some green eyes or something I loved you. Also Duncan from total drama island ❤️

The last 5 minutes of this film messed me up good. 🥺🥺🥺 Direction and drive and momentum are wonderful things, but just like religion doesn't answer every question we have about our lives, science isn't always able to fill in the blanks either. Lewis' obsession with finding his mom manifests as an obsession with creating at least one working invention. He can't control the one thing in his life that matters most (or he thinks matters most), so when the opportunity comes along for him to finally get what he wants, he charges blindly toward it, damn the consequences. He has a Skywalker complex. As stated by Yoda, "All his life has he looked away, to the future, to the horizon, never his mind on where he was, hm? What he was doing," except, all Lewis' energy is focused on the past. If he can see into the past, or better yet, VISIT the past, he thinks he will find his missing piece. No kid should grow up without a loving family. You can grow up tough and independent and versatile, but if a child grows up without at least some consistent love, support and guidance, they risk becoming like Goob (dysfunctional, obsessed with every slight ever experienced and unable to grow/support their own lives). In the WORST case scenario, they end up like Dexter or the Zodiac killer. Obviously this is not a rule, there are plenty of people who grow up well-adjusted without a loving family, thanks to intercedence on behalf of teachers or social workers or what-have-you...but that isn't fair to the kid or the adult they become. Ironically, the best advice Lewis gets is from his future self. But here in the real world, we don't get pep-talks or guidance or rearing from our future successful happy selves...that's supposed to come from family. Lewis got lucky. Thankfully, he doesn't squander that luck. As the song at the end of the film suggests, he "let it go", he moved forward, he created his own missing piece AND managed to find a family. It isn't perfect, but it was never going to be, it doesn't NEED to be. It wouldn't have been perfect if he had stayed in the future or if he had confronted his mother in the past. it just needed to be HIS...and eventually, it will be, I think. I hope so. I like that this movie gives us hope without a definitive look at the future. Just like Lewis, it gives us something to work towards. Great vid! I love that "These Little Wonders" still hits the way it did 14 years ago (dang I'm old, I was almost through with college when this came out). I don't know if you've seen "The Owl House", but it's another series that discusses how deterministic futures aren't set in stone; it's what you do NOW that matters. Also lots of cool Harry Potter/Your family is the one you choose themes as well. Check it out! 😁

That is still the best joke in the movie.

The last 5 minutes of this film messed me up good. 🥺🥺🥺
Direction and drive and momentum are wonderful things, but just like religion doesn't answer every question we have about our lives, science isn't always able to fill in the blanks either.
the KH phase is strong with Sophia😂😂😂
I am DESPERATE for her to watch The Young Victoria!
