The fact they literally got Tom Selleck (a.k.a Richard from Friends) to voice Adult Lewis just so they could include the joke about Cornelius looking like Tom Selleck makes this film even better.

Even better, they wrote the line into the script before even casting him mostly as a joke. They got lucky that he was free to voice him after all!

I love how you basically guessed the Plot Twist from the very beginning, maybe it's because I watched this as a kid, but the Twist that Lewis is Cornelius and that Goob is Bowler hat guy blew my mind.
Also I think the grandpa already knew it when he decided to show him around, cause you know he would remember how his son looked like and what his birth name was.

This movie is absolutely an underrated gem. The humor is incredible, especially in any scene with Bowler Hat Guy, the emotional beats hit hard, I love the lesson of learning from your failiures and not giving up, and there are so many little details and more subtle jokes, like how Wilbur says Cornelius looks like Tom Selleck, who actually voices Cornelius. Or that the sounds from the opening and the scene where Lewis goes back so see his mother line up perfectly, in that Lewis made the noise that spooked his mother and knocked on the door in both scenes it's the exact same scene, just from a different perspective. I love the attention to detail to make everything line up like that.

Another neat little Easter egg: if you pay really close attention to the sounds in the opening scene, and the scene where Lewis goes back in time to see his mom, you'd realize that they actually sync up perfectly, in that Lewis was the noise that spooks his mom, as well as the one who knocked on the door in the beginning, after he'd already done everything.

I still get a good chuckle out of gags like the Tom Selleck and the hand puppet apparently storming off and driving away without the body she's attached to. That song was the theme for the Carousel of Progress and the Tomorrowland attraction Innoventions at Disneyland, AND it was used for the Horizons attraction at EPCOT. So another layer to the theme of moving forward to new horizons with curiosity! :D It's such a nice, simple song.

Anyone else realize that Future Lewis most likely woke up in that cold sweat to build the time machines because of the events that happened in this movie?
    Too farfetched, you say? Consider:
He remembered what he'd done to Goob, and was planning on going back in time to fix it, because he felt guilty. Only Goob beat him to it.

    • @SledRider-bf3ih
      @SledRider-bf3ih ปีที่แล้ว +4

I say him (Bowler Hat Guy) and King Candy (Turbo) were the only Twist Villains from Walt Disney Animation Studios where The Twist villain is done right when compared to the other Twist villains such as Hans, Callaghan and Bellwether.

At least Michael "Goob" Yagoobian’s backstory and his twist and descent to becoming Bowler Hat Guy was more believable compared to *cough*Cellspex monologuing Hans and saying he’s better than the other Twist villains*cough* Besides even if a few got hints of Han’s villainy before his twist reveal, it still shocked audiences and I wouldn’t put Hans as one of Disney’s greatest villains moreso Twist Villains.

Many of the characters from BOTH were designed by the same person! So my gut feeling about Rodney Copperbottom looking like the butler robot in Meet the Robinsons was right. lol

I just realized something. 13:48. After Lewis left for the past in the end, she probably immediately turned around to Future Lewis and whispered “So. Mom, huh? I’ll be your mommy.”

It should! These movies were designed by the same artist: William Joyce.
    --
21:42 "I didn't know this movie was based on a quote from Walt Disney."
Actually, it was based on a book, "A Day with Wilbur Robinson", by William Joyce. They just found inspiration to use Disney's quote in the film.

IDK if anyone ever explained this, but the reason this reminds you in style of Robots is because the book it's based on A Day with Wilbur Robinson was written by William Joyce, who also wrote and executive produced Robots~ He's also the writer of the The Guardians of Childhood book series that the movie Rise of the Guardians is based on^.^ Actually, you might find a few things in his credits that you'd be surprised to see were his works or based on his works~~~

I think it's more of a reference to the older Kung Fu/Godzilla (type) movies that were notorious for bad dubbing.

Thank you for this amazing reaction! This film is so amazingly underrated and the ending with the song “Little Wonders” is so heartwarming and satisfying! Here are other films I like to recommend that are underrated; Baby’s Day Out, The Amazing
Panda Adventure, Alaska, Born to be Wild, Pete’s Dragon (1977), and We’re Back! A Dinosaur Story.

I just watched this movie again for the first time in like 10 years. I cried so much lol. I also realized Future Franny was probably my first childhood crush. I hope that's not weird lol. After watching this movie again I had such a heavy appreciation for Disney and movies like these. I studied the hell out of these characters. At least the Robinsons, Mildred, Goob and Mr. Willerstein lol. Gonna keep this rant short but this video was funny and wholesome. Angelina you have like such a great energy and charisma that I just had to subscribe I wanna binge your channel and want more content now lol.

9:46 I guess the Bowler Hat Guy's outfit reveals that if you give someone a villain-designing prompt that just says "evil man with a mustache wearing a unitard, cape/cloak, high heels, and a fashionable hat" you can get WILDLY differing results based on who thought it up and what vibe they were going for. Without the Bowler Hat Guy as context, what would YOU have guessed the prompt results would look like?
