I was going to say it’s not the only time, because of Man Utd’s 8-2 thrashing of Arsenal in 11/12, but he’d already retired at the end of the 10/11 season, so he just missed out on the first 8-2 of his career. A big art of “the magic sponge” was how cold it would be. The term really started with rugby which is played in fall/winter. The spionage guy would come out with a cold sponge on an already cold and wet day and players would be very motivated to get up and play rather than let the sponge of death touch their skin!

I think it's pretty ironic that Mourinho originally used it to describe a team doing it against his Chelsea team, but the term has become synonymous with Mourinho's anti-football.

The show was brilliant but I lost it on the third season season when they are giving a lecture on Total Football and professional footballers don't know about Johan Cruyff apart from the dutch guy ofcourse that too just after playing a friendly against Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena could'nt get over that.
