Perfect way to end a Sunday night! I’ve been waiting for a professional review of the G70, everyone makes 10minutes videos with like 3 minutes worth of ads…
By far, the best review of the complete car. Thank you. Mine is two weeks out for delivery. Siberian Ice exterior colour, and the Sevilla burgundy interior. Top-end 3.3 t all-wheel drive. It's unfortunate though, that the steering wheel is on the wrong side. Lol.
I love your video's and I am MESMERIZED BY THE "HAND" POINTER THAT YOU USE! LOL... It just fascinates me for some reason!! You do and incredible job with your video's... such attention to detail... YOUR views should be 10x's MORE!! ;-)
i love the way video started showing under the car i never saw anyone do that at all i got my 2023 genesis g70 3.3t awd 3 days ago i was curious to see under it thanks for this
Just ordered my 2023 3.3T Sport ("Sport Prestige" for Americans) in Savile Silver/Sevilla Red, after borrowing a demo of the exact same car for the day 😎
Cheers mate... I think this was fate... I'm buying the last 2021 model in NZ... They're awesome... abit slow on take off but the turbo lag isn't noticeable.
I had a G80 sport few issues w it, rear window shade failure, coil failure that led to a power loss and intermittent check engine light and ac quit working. So they have there issue's and they need help in the customer service department bad.
Congrats how is it? Considering this or the c43 amg I test drove the g70 fully loaded and it was definitely impressive, I do miss that exhaust sound on the c43 though it was so satisfying
Great review as always Mike. As a hyundai owner I just can’t wrap my head around their premium brand Genesis. Hyundais are pretty much hit or miss in the quality control, quality assurance aspect. Toyota/Honda on the other hand are world renowned for reliability not just from drivers but from mechanics. That being said if I spend my money on a premium platform I’d most likely go with a Lexus. Cheers
Holy smokes! I wanted to get this as a sporty sedan for my wife and daughter but with that rear leg room that's ridiculous! No way I can fit a car seat, even the low profile ones. Why would you put 4 doors on this thing?? Lol
Most states require a front license plate. Including California which is what the rear tag shows. Sure this looks good without one but showing it this way is kind of a cheat. How does this car possibly support a front plate? I think doing a night drive is a big plus, not many other youtubers seem to do that. It does help show the HUD. One other thing no one shows is the windshield sprayer and wipers in action. Is a small thing but it seems like something I have always had issues with. I like your observations on the scroll wheels that are also push buttons on the steering wheel. The touchscreen looks good but there is a problem with the short but wide displays in vogue now: navigation. Navigation is better with more screen in the vertical axis. I want to see the road I am on, the next two roads I am coming up to and the intersection I just passed. Did I miss my turn? Maybe if the navigation/map took a portion of the screen to just do a text list of last, next and second next intersections, with maybe a distance next to them? The most important driver assist to me is one that can detect driver falling asleep. What does the car do then? Steer to the side and stop?
It's funny how they left out some stuff from one year to the next, like on my 2020 it has an electric auto trunk, while they took it off this one... chrome door handles on my and body color on this one...
I have to be honest, I don't like the refresh. It doesn't appeal to me aesthetically. First, that crest grille is yuck. The split headlamps are inelegant (they should stretch around much further). The pre-refresh G70 looked much better. And I miss the fog lamps. Second, I like that the pre-refresh G70 could be mistaken for a Bentley or Aston Martin. Borrowing aesthetic sensibilities from other brands is a Good Thing. Third, the rear end of the refreshed G70 is butt ugly (pun intended). The pre-fresh G70 looked much better. Fourth, the refreshed gauge cluster, which is half physical and half digital, is unappealing. Make it all-physical or all-digital but *don't* do half and half. (The blind spot imaging could've been placed in the center display.) Fifth, I liked the boomerang side vents on the pre-refresh G70. They gave the car a unique look. The refreshed G70 loses that uniqueness and could be mistaken for any other Genesis model. The 2022 G70 is still an excellent vehicle but it'll never get the same kind of love from me as in the pre-refresh G70.
Fair points, but I like that the 2022 refresh moves the g70 further away from Hyundai/Kia and more in line with the rest of their lineup. It’s very disappointing that the g70 isn’t using a fully digital instrument cluster like the GV70 or the A4, C class, or 3 series. Speaking of GV70, I’d rather get that car, but it’s out of my price range for now. If I do get a g70 next year, I’ll be sticking with the 2022 mainly because the infotainment screen is larger and looks more modern than the previous models. The previous models borrows straight from Hyundai/Kia.
I totaly agree with ALL the things you're pointing out. I'm looking to replace my 2014 Q50 and still not sure about that refresh... Can't say I'm love with the new design... I know it's a good car for the $. Maybe i'll wait a year or two for the Mazda 6 refresh ...... ????
Had my Genesis coupe for 4 years, not a single problem. Now I own the 2022 G70. Quick, reliable, and an unbeatable warranty to boot.
4 years from new?

Nice thorough review. I like how the nice music fades in during the last few seconds of the video as soon as you speak your last sentence.
this is how a nice premium cabin should look like... not that gloss black and tablet hell in new mercs and audis....

What a beautiful car. Thanks for the detailed review sir. How much money is this exact car you are reviewing?
There is a setting in the system to engage the parking camera system when going slow
Where is it
Wonderfully exhaustive. Thank you. 🙂

You forgot to mention the diameter of the wheels. That's important.
Your "metallic swirls" look like machined aluminum.

Yours probably has additional packages this one doesn't have. You can compare your window sticker with the one in this video: 56:39
The 2023 has power trunk.... and ''auto'' trunk also...

Should have made this car a coupe. There is no room in the back for adults
