I LOVE the under-body segments. You're the only automotive journalism source that actually shows viewers what the suspension components and critical drive components look like. And the comment on the drain plug is good practical info that we won't ever get from MT, C/D, et al. Great review. Keep up the excellent work.

When one wishes to improve things about their life, it's good to hang around people who are inspirational in those aspects.
Those who are wealthy, talk to them and figure out what they did to get there.
Those who speak well, spend time with them and really allow their talking to rub off.
Those who manage their time well, spend time around them and find out their habits to emulate.

That’s certainly a beautiful car. I looked at it a few times before ultimately deciding on a Stinger. The G70 is dynamically more sound than the Stinger but the left rear seat is unusable with a driver over 6’. I’m sure the lack of space helps with the dynamics but the priority for me was accommodating my family and friends over the bump in dynamics that the G70 gives versus the Stinger. With that said as a value based consumer I still like both of these over all of their competitors. Kudos to Hyundai/Kia on hitting a double on their first at bat. Keep it going 👍

Agreed. I drive a G80 and never look at the analog clock-- the digital clock on the dash display is easier and faster to read, and it's the only clock I ever use. The space occupied by the analog clock would be much better used for four of the seven buttons currently positioned on the dashboard to the lower left of the steering wheel, which are kind of hard to see because the wheel is in their line of sight.

Canadians seem like very nice people 👍 Never have been there but have always heard 2 things about Canada. 1) the cities are very crowded, 2) the people are very nice genuinely. This Genesis is great. If i was in the market i would be looking at one. Would take this over a stinger... But that's just me. Hyundai just has better looking cars vs Kia IMO.

Shoppers beware! The insurance rates on the G70 are INSANELY higher than other sporty cars. Was going to get a G70 with a manual till my insurance agent told me it means $600 more a year vs. other choices.

When the screen eventually breaks.... Uh my 07 A3 Sline has a trash screen, the car has been beat on and modified, has 200k miles, and the thing still works. I don't think that will really be an issue. Still I get your point. My wife's jeep compass is like that and it's annoying.

    Hey Mark,
I drove the 3.3 TT (slight turbo lag) for an entire weekend in Vancouver, Canada just 30 days ago and totally luved it except for: (a) the rear seats are small (b) The resale value & reliability concerns are HUGE (c) I found a huge vibration when cornering - could be the brake vectoring.
BUT - The price point, the maintenance included, the valet service that I received was top notch, that engine was put thru its paces and handled it very well, huge amounts of torque (I enjoy to drive spiritedly when safe to do so- Very very happy with that engine & transmission), many Drive Modes, great sound system and all the safety features.
I used that right pedal and my mileage took a big hit. I also drove on eco mode on a highway trip for 100 kms and got 12.6/100 kms.
The comparable cars will set you back $15K for similar features and options.
I like the looks. My tester had the Blue ext with Red Brembos, dark wheels along with the black & red int. That quilted interior is gorgeous.
Really it has every feature that you want AND the drive, sportiness, turning radius, that ENGINE...WOW!!!
    Cheers from Vancouver, Canada

I own a 2020 Stinger with AWD. All cars with electronics have a delay--once you get use to where it is you can use it to your advantage.I ran a 12.7 at the drag strip and beat 500 plus HP cars--so KIA/Genesis are doing something right, It shifts as good as the dodge charger SRT and AUDI A6 as a comparison. I did not use launch control either--my 60 was 4.27--so it is shifting faster then many other performance cars. There was a new Golf r and he ran a low 13 second in each run--so my stinger was dusting that car also which supposedly really shifts quick.

I've got a question: why is the G70 so much more expensive than the Kia Stinger, which shares a similar platform and identical power plant? (as of this writing a G70 Sport cost $7500 more than the top of the line Stinger GT Limited here in Canada)
Because, frankly, the G70 doesn't offer anything more than the Stinger. In fact, there's more room in the latter because of the hatchback.
