Great video 👍 is it okay if one NEEDs twang/compression to activate the rumble? It feels tense and I can't relax the rumble into scream :/ been stuck on this for months
Twang can help to distort the voice, so if it helps you and it's comfortable, then I think it's fine. When it comes to using kargyraa for learning how to scream, what helps is breaking the voice. It automatically relaxes the voice. It works best for fry scream. For false chord, an actual relaxation, as if you were getting rid of your natural voice from the sound, and focused on distortion, helps.
Usually the "nee-yoh" is the easiest option to practice with. Some students need to stick to it for a few days, sometimes even longer, before they can easily switch to other sounds. For me, that's still the easiest sound to make
It might mean that your placement (the source of distortion) is too close to your true vocal folds or you use too much air, or too high volume, or your breath support doesn't work 100% correctly. It might be that you also don't use your false vocal folds, but the epiglottis and the arytenoid cartilages (they create much flatter, constricted, rumbly and lower sound that false chords). It's hard to tell what causes the discomfort without listening to your vocals.

I can get it somewhat easily on the ni-o but mostly lose it when I try to swap to some other sound :(
