So if I take out the drive i have and put in another one and use the same sata and power cord it will load me on windows or should I get a cord and put it in and install windows like that??!?
First, I am 75. I did not grow up in the computer age so all of this is completely hard for me. I watched several unprofessional videos on how to format a new hard drive. Never spent more than a minute or so before not getting it. This person with a very pleasant voice takes you step by step. (I have Windows 7) So it was not easy but when I realized if I did exactly as he said. It worked. All I can say is if you find computers difficult to understand, this is THE video for you. Follow his instructions and you will be happy with the results. I subscribed so I can find out more steps to now transfer all my O.S. main hard drive ( about to kick the bucket) to the new one he helped me install. Thank you, Sir!
Hey man there isn't a single man over 50 that I know or that I have met that knows anything about a computer, my manager who works on a computer for part of his shift is almost completely computer illiterate. So you being 77 now and knowing how to install a new computer part is really damn impressive in my opinion
I love how he tells what to do in multiple situations. Like how he said if it didn’t automatically recognize the disk how he actually backed out and showed us what it would do instead of just saying what to do and moving on acting like nobody would have that problem. Very useful video. I wish everybody’s videos were like this

I don't know what got me to follow the steps. I didn't had a drive, but I followed the steps anyway, because I was curious. If I didn't, I would have never discovered a drive I didn't know I had. Thank you and I'm sure I'm watching this video again, when I actually get a drive.

@@itshyperss7535 for me it showed the options "convert to dynamic disk" and "convert to mbr" instead. I just went with the dynamic disk option and the rest of the tutorial was exactly the same from there
For me as a hardware pleb this video was very easy to understand and easy to follow, you are amazing for making even me understand how to get a new harddrive in. It's up and running now and finally have more than just 1TB space.

I had to format a ssd and harddrive and both worked flawlessly, hardest part was getting to computer management. The fact that 333 people have disliked this video is crazy, considering how easy it is to follow.
Quick format is fine for most people. But if you need to ensure all sectors are good, then full format is the way to go. But it can take HOURS for large drives, so do it overnight.

A lot of tutorials only showed the bios, and didn't tells us what to do when the drive doesn't show up on This PC.

When i right clicked on the unallocated space, it doesnt show the "initialize disk" option.

If your on windows 10 just go straight to mbr.

Which drive did you format? You have to format the correct drive. Maybe you formatted over your C: drive?

Very good idea. By putting your footage on a non-OS drive you will notice a performance increase when editing.
