- Parts just came in so it's time to get this EVAP leak fixed. We are replacing the PCV valve system, gas cap, and some O-rings. Let's get to working on the traverse and getting it back up and running.
Intake Boot #20871478
Gas Cap #23361898
PCV 90 # V546
PCV Valve # V518
Vapor Canister #12690512

great display of the PCV valve clip to deinstall, and desciption of methods to get the PCV valve in and out. Best video on the subject.
Thank you so much. With your help I was able to replace my own gas cap with no little part rattling around.
Way to go
You're amazing thank you saw a few videos from you on the Chevy traverse thank you so much for being informative and
Good video clear and informative 👌🏾 👍🏽
Good information💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 I never knew this it was oil in my snorkel and inside the throttle body I cleaned it out real good an now I got to go back and replace the PCV valve
This helped me save some bucks!
Very good video and well explained. Thank you so much for making these tutorials. You rock!
Glad to help!
Thank you very much
You are a lifesaver
Thank you you are awesome
That's what i needed lol, couldn't get my valve back on
Heck yeah glad I could help
have a 2103 traverse trying to address similar symptoms. Don't see a Schrader valve on the low pressure side to try and clean the injectors, any idea where it is?
I have a 2015 traverse ltz awd and trying to replace that hose you showed around 4:44 mins in do you know a part # for that
Thanks
Did it help change your pcv system?
I typed the part number for the breather tube and it comes out, however, it specify it doesn’t fit my 2016 traverse. As a matter of fact there is no replacement part for the breather valve or tube for a Chevy traverse.
Does it look the same as the part on the vehicle?
Hi! I am looking on Amazon and I found a PCV (rear metal one) and it says “only fits if position is ‘right’”. My rear PCV on my 2012 traverse is slightly to the right of center, but is that what it means? I can’t find the specific one you used 😕
I seem to be getting a lot of questions on that. It seems like the piece I used isn’t coming up right or available anymore but the pvc valve should be the same and the hoses be different lengths or arrangement. I will look into to the link and try to update it
I have a 2012 traverse as well but I cannot find that PCV vent at any parts store, even the dealer says there isn't a PCV breather. if I give them that number they say it doesn't fit and RockAuto seems to show it as part of the valve cover.
I removed mine and cleaned it up. It has some sludge buildup inside. We'll see if it helps. thanks for the video it was a big help.
The stuff I used I got off of Amazon. Are you looking for the breather tube or the pcv valve? The dealer should have the valve at least since it’s a maintenance item. The tube should be fine as long as there is no cracks that the gunk was clogging lol
how did you get the plastic PCV value out I'm afraid to break it
So when did you drill the pcv value out and why a new air intake
I never drilled the PCV valve out I replaced it with a new one
This must be a different year than mine. I have a 2015 and the rear pvc didn't come out. I have to replace my valve cover now because mine is welded to the valve cover assembly
I had to replace it as well on my 2016 because I couldn’t get it off and it ended up breaking. Talked to Buick and they told me these are built into the valve cover.
I almost destroyed my rear pcv valve trying to remove it. I quit trying to remove it after I found out about this new design. Mine is 2014 enclave
What kind of scanner do you use?
I have two different scanners. About a $100 Napa one and a really nice LAUNCH X431 PRO Mini. The launch one is expensive at about $800 but you can see so much more data and manipulate different solenoids and sensors with the touch of a button
Would you know the part number for the rear pcv on 2017 buick enclave i only found the one in the front but nothing for the rear
I’m fairly certain that it is the same as the ones in my video. I believe that is the last year before the change in body style. Is it still the 3.6 or is it the 2.4. Aka v6 or 4 cylinder. If your system looks like the mine I would say they are the same. Call your local dealer and they will be able to give you a part number
@@ModdingAddiction i tried moving the pcv with some pliers but that mf is stuck good in there.i kind of bended it a bit. Might take intake cover off to get more access to the pcv am just afraid to bended or break it to a point i wont be able to get it off!
@@ModdingAddictiongood afternoon. So upon doing some research the models from 2014 and up have the new valve cover were the pcv calve or fitting is not serviceable due to that fitting being integrated to the valve cover it self. Was also told 2017 enclaves have that newer valve cover and its aluminum. Part number is #12688702
Just went through a nightmare because of this "PCV valve" The metal one in the back near the fire wall is not made to be removed. Especially if you have high milage and it has never been changed. The one they sell you from a parts store is also slightly different than the original. GM only sells the correct part, and it only comes with a new valve cover. It is basically molded with the valve cover. New valve cover with the new PCV valve and gaskets ran me 200 dollars from GMC parts department. The labor work to do it was actually easier than I expected. Required basic rachet and socket set and a few torx head bolts. I was able to do it in a day. Just a heads up for others who may try to change this on a high milage GM with the 3.6L.
Thanks. Do you know what the GM part number is for the new valve cover (and the PCV valve/breather itself)?
Parts fixed the air leak but I am chasing down a warm piston ring I believe
not true
@@dancurrier6421what’s not true?
u don't have to buy a new value cover to replace PVC valve. U have to take of intake manifold to get to the back valve cover. I took mine off and replaced my broken PCV value piece
What year Traverse are you working on?
It is a 2012
2019 traverse. My front pcv is in the engine. No clip to unlock. How do I get it out? Please help
If it’s them one I’m thinking of there is two green tabs on the inside of the engine that make it extremely hard to remove. There is a special tool to remove it that cost way more than the part is worth. My best advice is to get two zip ties and while pushing the pcv in try to push the zip ties between the engine and the pcv valve. Effectively you are using the zip tie as a guide to push the two tabs in so the catches ride up the zip tie and don’t get caught on the ledge that is stopping it. It is the same theory as removing fuel lines with zip ties. There are tones of videos showing how to do it. I think I even have one on it. Keep me posted I’m curious if it works out
@@ModdingAddiction I have a Question for you I tried to get out my PCV value and broke the tip of now I got to figure out how to get broken piece out any help would be appreciated ty
Did the remote start work?
Yes the remote start still worked. There might be a code that is causing the remote start not to work. Clear the codes and it should work again
I noticed you didn’t drill the larger holes into it so it could breathe better
Yeah I am trying to figure out an oil blow by problem. Drilling the holes bigger will help it breath but will also let more oil through
Where u buy it both valves?

@Modding Addiction thanyou so much.
How did you get a hammer back there ?
Precision and perseverance
@@ModdingAddiction 😂 that's a good one
My muffler sounds like a chokes can it be the pc valves making a problem.?
Sounds more like the catalytic converter has failed and is plugging up the system
Would a bad PCV cause engine Lag?
It could with it blocking part of the vacuum system. More likely from a lag would be a vacuum leak. Maybe bad plugs and air filter. All would be good maintenance to do to make sure its running right.
is this related to stabilitrak?
I don’t believe it would affect that module. It would cause emissions faults before anything else
Update?
Short update is it fixed it but only a little. I think I am having troubles with the rings on one of the cylinders that’s giving me the misfire
Did it pop a code
Wasn’t bad enough to throw a code but you could tell when it was idling that it wasn’t happy
