Super nice find, that switch on the battery is used in a lot of cases for a parasitic drain on the battery. if you have ever let your car sit for a couple of days only to find a dead battery that switch is one temp solution.
Great looking old complete car. Nice it's got a 260 V-8 instead of a six. Will be a fun project. I'm from Missouri and the town of New Haven is only about 60 miles from St. Louis.
I like the 64 wifee car & love you're 67 . I'm restoring a 66 fairlane 500 2dr on a budget lol so slowly building, good luck sir !! P.s. I lived in Thayer mo for 20yrs now I'm in az thanks ; )
@DEADCARRESCUE ,I'm trying not to but on a tight budget & having some issues.. like the 351w header pipe drives side is hitting pitman armchair + ps assist cylinder . Think I can dent & bend alittle to make fit . Then original Fmx tran , I don't really like much .. am thinking of c4 or c6 swap, I want to make this Fairlane a cruiser / daily driver.. Not a race car / Hotrod I'm 55 now & someday I also want to do hwy66 run in my 66 ; ) Thanks
A friend told me a simple stretch that has changed my life. Put your leg on a chair straight out then reach for your toes. Hold it for 30 seconds each leg. I do that once a day and i havent had to go to the chiropractor for a month. Love the channel and that fairlane is a beauty.
I will try that. I drink a lot of spades ( too many ) but I’m addicted and that’s probably a big part of my problem. I try to drink water but I like cokes so much. Never been to a chiropractor. Thanks for watching my videos.
What a nice honest old car! Glad you got it running so easily. And I think it looks great with the original wheel covers -- fits the vibe of the car so nicely.
Awesome ride. I am looking at the exact same car here in Louisiana!! Not in and good of shape though!! Keep up the good work! Big Kaz’s Garage Kentwood, La.
Great lookin' lil car Steve, ain't nothing wrong with a "more door". Funny, 20 plus years ago I wouldn.t have looked at a four door, but now appreciate four doors because you don't see many being a lot of them were used as parts cars for the two doors, I would be proud to cruise that ole girl.
Hi Bobby from NJ. Nice videos. Nice Ford fairlane. I suggest considering oxi clean spray. It's used to take stains out of carpeting and furniture. If you consider that, and if it works for you, let me know.
We bought some shout and that did the job. I saw that oxy clean though. I gotta get that new windshield and rear glass rubber to stop that problem. Thanks for watching.
I’ve been driving it around since the video. I put new tires on it Monday and it is just like I bought a new OLD car. It’s so smooth and the steering is really too easy.
Cool classic! I have a switch like that on my battery a quick cheap way to solve a parasitic drain on my Honda CRV preventing start up if not driven often
If they can open the hood with the latch they still will be able to still a car with that devise on the battery all they have to do is move the connector back to make a positive connection
Damn, i love it. I would have bought it too. As a great look. With a little tlc it will be a awesome running, etc. If that was at a car show, i would go up to it quick
Thank you Hank. I always search to buy the grandpa n grandma cars that I find. I barely got there in time to buy this one. The owner was offered $500 more than I paid. Since I was on my way the owner kept his word and waited on me.
@@DEADCARRESCUE what a good outcome. I like the car a lot. I think the 260 was a good engine. No hot rod, but plenty enough, even with a 2 barell carb. I will watch more videos on it if you post them, unless you already have. It was nice to hear that the owner kept his word. Rare nowadays
Should install pertronix. The engine would run a lot better. For the windshield leak Tire repair glue from Temu. I have used it and it is really good for black rubber repair. The tube not the syringe.
Yeah I was just using what I had trying to stop the leaks. New windshield and back glass rubber is on its way. That should look better too. Thanks for the tip.
3000 grit wet sanding and a super fine cutting compound will take all the spots out of the paint. Looks 80 percent better. If th cardboard is good on the visors they can be sewn. Great purchase.
@@DEADCARRESCUE 3000 grit and a very light buffing compound not car polish. Should take out most of the scratches and marks. Don’t go through the clear coat.
Points on a V8 Ford always sit on 17 and you put a little bit of grease on that cam in there to protect that plastic. That’s what my uncle used to do he was a Ford mechanic. But I’m sure you already knew that. I’m just excited for you.
Out here in Nazifornia, the four door cars are just as expensive as the two door cars. An average price for a beater in way worse condition than yours, is still right around $10,000. I'll stick with building my '64.5 Mustang coupe.@@DEADCARRESCUE

People seem to always remember their first car. Mine was a black 1956 ford two door coupe. It had a lot of problems but today they really weren’t nothing I couldn’t fix.
@DEADCARRESCUE P.S. I'm 69 yrs young and best I can remember seems like I was told that if a older car turns over 100,000 miles the digits will be out of alignment and when it turns over it breaks a piece in the speedometer causing it and it can't be repaired don't know if that is true
I enjoy your rescues, I saw the Ford Fairlane 500 with 30000 miles and thought I would love to buy it from you until I saw your friend smoking a cigarette inside the car. I hate the smell of a car that has been smoked in and I'm sure that I'm not the only one. Something to consider.
If we changed for every viewer we would be changing constantly so we are going to do what we do and laugh when other people try to run our lives. Maybe this channel isn’t for you as I smoke in all of the cars I work on. You need to chill out and worry about yourself. Lol

Battery switch sold by J C Whitney, I bought one years ago.
I was told it was a marine BOAT item for when you store your boat over the winter also.
I noticed there was overspray on the rear seat
I didn’t see that. Which side did you see it on?
You can buy that battery disconnect at Advanced Auto.

They say that a clay bar gets the oxidation out.
I’ve never used it.
You can’t find an old one in that shape from St. Louis no rust, factory Jack, that’s sweet, it would look good sitting in front of A-1
I have a 63 in my shop from Illinois and it has one tiny trust hole. It has 41,000 miles showing.
It's like a brand new 60 y/o car
Kind of.
What kind of clear cote did you use on that 66 Fairlane? Thank you, Thomas
I don’t remember the name brand. I just sprayed a light coat to prevent it from rusting until I had it painted.
with that low mileage i think your going to have to take back to original new shape geez that baby should go to auction or car shows WOW
We are going to drive it. Maybe do a Route 66 cruise this summer. I’m going to check on an alternator and aftermarket A/C too.
