- I found a 1964 two owner Ford Fairlane with just over 30,000 original miles. I bought it without even seeing if it could run because of the condition of the car. Join me as I travel to pick up the car, bring it home and see if I can get it running in time for our local car show.

What a great find!!!! That is such a cool looking antique 4-door car. I bet your wife loves it.
We both love it. It’s the cleanest original car I’ve ever found. Thanks for watching and subscribe, like and share to help me grow.
My brother has a 62 fairlane 2 door. He put a 351 windser in it. Beautiful car, it’s his baby😊
I love the 62’s
What a nice honest old car! Glad you got it running so easily. And I think it looks great with the original wheel covers -- fits the vibe of the car so nicely.
I have slightly bigger NEW black wall tires on another 64 fairlane that I’m going to put on it tomorrow. Leaving the hubcaps on for now.
Absolutely wonderful,Beautiful,Beautiful!
Lol
Very nice car
Thank you.
Super nice find, that switch on the battery is used in a lot of cases for a parasitic drain on the battery. if you have ever let your car sit for a couple of days only to find a dead battery that switch is one temp solution.
I thought it was as old as the car but they sell them to people with boats that usually sit for weeks.
Gonna check u later my gal is gonna kick my but if I don't go up will be back 😊excellent lol had to watch a little 😮
Thanks lol

A friend told me a simple stretch that has changed my life. Put your leg on a chair straight out then reach for your toes. Hold it for 30 seconds each leg. I do that once a day and i havent had to go to the chiropractor for a month. Love the channel and that fairlane is a beauty.
I will try that. I drink a lot of spades ( too many ) but I’m addicted and that’s probably a big part of my problem. I try to drink water but I like cokes so much. Never been to a chiropractor. Thanks for watching my videos.

Wow amazing shape for its age!
I put new tires on it today and she now drives so smooth :)
Great looking old complete car. Nice it's got a 260 V-8 instead of a six. Will be a fun project. I'm from Missouri and the town of New Haven is only about 60 miles from St. Louis.
Ok then. So that’s where the car was from I guess.
Nice car! Good job Steve!
Thanks for the flowers and thank you for watching.
I had a 64 2 door that I used to deliver newspaper with. God I miss that car.
They were very dependable cars weren’t they?
At age 77, I am way over the 2 door only cars. 4 doors are really crew cabs. Folks have been buying those for years
The same here Tom.
Love that car
Thank you! :)
Beautiful ❤
Agreed
Nice lookin car Id say the paint looks good enough to keep it as is
Good enough for a driver huh?
That's an amazing find!! Looking forward to seeing it rolling around over in Caraway.
Thank you sir.
Hey like and subscribe to my channel and help me grow. Thanks

Cool classic!
I have a switch like that on my battery a quick cheap way to solve a parasitic drain on my Honda CRV preventing start up if not driven often
I thought it was something JC Whitney sold lol

Hey cool 😊
Ment hY cool for u guys 😊
😊
Great lookin' lil car Steve, ain't nothing wrong with a "more door". Funny, 20 plus years ago I wouldn.t have looked at a four door, but now appreciate four doors because you don't see many being a lot of them were used as parts cars for the two doors, I would be proud to cruise that ole girl.
I agree. I always say you can get more in a four door lol.
Love both cars 👍🏻
Thanks.
Awesome car
Thank you sir.
That little 260 is torquey . I had a pal that had one in a Falcon . 160 HP 258 pound- feet of Torque. Peppy around town. Just subbed
I’ve been driving it around since the video. I put new tires on it Monday and it is just like I bought a new OLD car. It’s so smooth and the steering is really too easy.
A nice looking car! I'll take a excellent condition 4 door over a so-so 2 door any day.
I have an ugly two door 64 also. It’s not nice like this one but it’s a V8 and runs good.
Turn out to be a nice old car
It sure did.
The part on the battery is an after market battery disconnect that works great for long time car storage. Mostly used in marine applications
Ok that makes sense. Thanks for the info. Thank you for watching and Like and subscribe if you will, I’m trying to grow my channel. Thanks
3000 grit wet sanding and a super fine cutting compound will take all the spots out of the paint. Looks 80 percent better. If th cardboard is good on the visors they can be sewn. Great purchase.
Thank you for the info. So after sanding with 300 grit water sandpaper I can buff out the sanding marks with rubbing compound or just car polish?
@@DEADCARRESCUE 3000 grit and a very light buffing compound not car polish. Should take out most of the scratches and marks. Don’t go through the clear coat.
Points on a V8 Ford always sit on 17 and you put a little bit of grease on that cam in there to protect that plastic. That’s what my uncle used to do he was a Ford mechanic. But I’m sure you already knew that. I’m just excited for you.
Yes I always do the dab of grease thing. Thanks for the tips and info and for watching.
Damn, i love it. I would have bought it too. As a great look. With a little tlc it will be a awesome running, etc. If that was at a car show, i would go up to it quick
Thank you Hank. I always search to buy the grandpa n grandma cars that I find. I barely got there in time to buy this one. The owner was offered $500 more than I paid. Since I was on my way the owner kept his word and waited on me.
@@DEADCARRESCUE what a good outcome. I like the car a lot. I think the 260 was a good engine. No hot rod, but plenty enough, even with a 2 barell carb. I will watch more videos on it if you post them, unless you already have. It was nice to hear that the owner kept his word. Rare nowadays
I enjoy your rescues, I saw the Ford Fairlane 500 with 30000 miles and thought I would love to buy it from you until I saw your friend smoking a cigarette inside the car. I hate the smell of a car that has been smoked in and I'm sure that I'm not the only one. Something to consider.
If we changed for every viewer we would be changing constantly so we are going to do what we do and laugh when other people try to run our lives. Maybe this channel isn’t for you as I smoke in all of the cars I work on. You need to chill out and worry about yourself. Lol

Awesome ride. I am looking at the exact same car here in Louisiana!! Not in and good of shape though!! Keep up the good work!

Thank you.
Check u later my gal is on my butt ❤😊
It's like a brand new 60 y/o car
Kind of.
Great looking car. I love those Fords from that time! Hey you spelled Subscribe wrong at the end of the video.
I did? lol I will have to look at my outro n see.
You’re right. I didn’t make that up but I’ve been using that outro on all my videos lol. Thanks man.
Should install pertronix. The engine would run a lot better. For the windshield leak Tire repair glue from Temu. I have used it and it is really good for black rubber repair. The tube not the syringe.
Yeah I was just using what I had trying to stop the leaks. New windshield and back glass rubber is on its way. That should look better too. Thanks for the tip.
Hi Bobby from NJ. Nice videos. Nice Ford fairlane. I suggest considering oxi clean spray. It's used to take stains out of carpeting and furniture. If you consider that, and if it works for you, let me know.
We bought some shout and that did the job. I saw that oxy clean though. I gotta get that new windshield and rear glass rubber to stop that problem. Thanks for watching.
Battery switch sold by J C Whitney, I bought one years ago.
I was told it was a marine BOAT item for when you store your boat over the winter also.
If they can open the hood with the latch they still will be able to still a car with that devise on the battery all they have to do is move the connector back to make a positive connection
True
60 years with no radio! Amazing find! Potato joe left his glasses in there! 😬🫡🇺🇸
I love those grandpa cars.
You can buy that battery disconnect at Advanced Auto.
Oh ok then. I’ve just never saw one. Some viewer said it was a boat storage item that boaters use. Thanks for the info.
I always carry point's in glove box 😊
That’s a good idea. Thinking ahead!
I nearly fell asleep
Oh really? :(. I’m sorry. I have so many likes and you’re the only one who ever said that. I guess you can’t please everyone. But I don’t know what I’m doing other that just being myself on these videos. I’m learning every video though. Sorry
They say that a clay bar gets the oxidation out.
I’ve never used it.
with that low mileage i think your going to have to take back to original new shape geez that baby should go to auction or car shows WOW
We are going to drive it. Maybe do a Route 66 cruise this summer. I’m going to check on an alternator and aftermarket A/C too.
I noticed there was overspray on the rear seat
I didn’t see that. Which side did you see it on?
What kind of clear cote did you use on that 66 Fairlane? Thank you, Thomas
I don’t remember the name brand. I just sprayed a light coat to prevent it from rusting until I had it painted.
My first real car a 1964 fairlane 500 2 dr hardtop 260 v8
People seem to always remember their first car. Mine was a black 1956 ford two door coupe. It had a lot of problems but today they really weren’t nothing I couldn’t fix.
Brother, you can get a steamer and that will bring that stain out of that seat
Shout removed it but rain Friday night added more. Going to shout it out again today.
Hahahaha Fairdinkum I love the way you lot talk ,in Australia we call it a FareLane hahaha ,Love it Good luck matey,God Bless!
I thank you sir.
That rubber on the generator is factory
Is that right? I thought it could be some old school ingenuity somebody thought up. That’s good to know. Thanks.
@@DEADCARRESCUE when I was a kid my aunt bought one brand new and me being a engine nut that’s the first thing that I saw when they raised the hood
It's a Ford, they put it in a barn for a reason...lol! 🤣😂😂
As a chevy guy I use to think that too but I’m impressed with the fords I’ve bought lately. I like all brands as long as they are mine.
Unfortunately all these parts anymore from most of these auto parts stores ain't nothing but this Chinese garbage parts
I agree with you. A rebuilt Chevy alternator from china was bad right out of the box for a truck I was working on.
Smiln while drivn is what it is all about ,4 doors are the way to go ,4 doors means family’s ,President Trump !Now,4 doors create happy!
I agree. Thanks for your comment sir.
