@@GM_Trent the way cam was forcefully pulled out and bumping the cam gear on the way out. Gotta rotate it smoothly and let itself ride out. Apply very very slight pressure.
@@TravisCadello lol you talk like I was just yanking it out. But na I 100% know what you mean. That’s what I started off doing, but I had to pull it just a bit just because of the oil film causing it to stick a little. If it felt like I had to apply too much pressure, I would’ve definitely been questioning things. We actually looked at the bearings before I slid the new cam in and they were fine
@@TravisCadellobrother I know what you mean but just by twisting it it’s not gonna slide itself out lol you have to apply slight pressure to pull it out

@@elisahsmalls7196 depends on how big of a cam you go with. Usually, you can do up to a stage 2 on a stock converter

@@brycenklinkowski5721 is yours an auto which is why you’re pulling the motor? Even so, just take your time and be patient. Rushing is how you skip or break stuff. As long as you do that, you’ll be fine

Thanks man! Glad you liked it. And if you’re referring to the programmers that already have some tunes loaded in it, I personally don’t recommend those. They can’t match exactly what your car needs as far as tuning goes. Every engine is different even if they are the same. That’s why it’s always better to get a custom tune
Did you install a 3 bolt or 1 bolt cam? How many bolts is a stock ls3
I put in a 3 bolt cam. Stock is a one bolt. You will need to buy a 3 bolt timing gear

If I didn’t waste a day or more looking for a spring compressor, essentially 2 days. One for disassembly and one for reassembly and that’s going slow to make sure I didn’t miss anything. But technically for this video, I started mid Saturday and finished Monday night after I got off work
Did you end up getting your Camaro Tuned? If so how much power did you end up making? Looking into doing the same thing on my 5th gen.

You probably won’t see this for a while, but did you have to pull the pan all the way off or pull the block out to remove pan & pick up tube in order to remove the oil pump?
My bad man. Meant to get back with you earlier. Just been busy. But all I did was lower the oil pan. I took most of the bolts out from the front and loosened the ones towards the back so that the pan would tilt enough for me to get the pickup tube bolt out. I used a magnet to grab the bolt in case it wanted to fall because there’s not a lot of space
How much did it cost you to cam your car bro I’m planning to do my ls3 as well
I’m into it at around $2k being that I did the labor myself. That’s with parts and the tune. If you have a shop do it, it’ll probably be double
awesome now get that thing tuned so we can hear it run and drive properly! dyno results would be cool too im interested to see what it makes i would say probably 440-470 to the wheels

My car has a manual transmission, so it doesn’t have DOD/AFM
Need your help if you can, I have a 6 gen, 2017 2SS, where can I go to get the same package? In otherwords, the full package you got on yours.
Being that I have a TSP cam, you would have to go to the Texas Speed website. I would call their customer service as you spec it out, because all the drop downs can be kind of confusing, if you’re not sure which exact parts you need
