    Your review is like the only one out there on this trailer worth watching! Thank you for that. You mentioned that you thought the crossbars were too close together, so you know how many inches apart they are? I looked up the manual and it didn’t show the specs on the distance.

    • @RivermanTV-
      @RivermanTV-  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's why I made the review. I couldn't find any useful information before buying it.
      The distance between the cross bars is about 50". It's a good distance apart for the base of a kayak but it leaves a little play in front if you're using the area around the crossbars for straps. I've solved that problem for myself with 3 mounted ratchet straps.

    Thanks for the video. I just bought one. Fyi I asked them if they had slightly longer crossbars. One of my canoes is a bit wider.
    They said they now have 72 inch crossbars. Which is perfect for me.
    Question, the wheels you provided a link for, are they a bit taller?
    Thanks

    • @RivermanTV-
      @RivermanTV-  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're the same size as the stock wheels as far as I can tell.

    Question: my wife and I have the titan 10.5 and slayer 10 from watercraft, do you think they would both lay flat on this trailer? Thank you!!

    • @RivermanTV-
      @RivermanTV-  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they would both fit but may hang off of either side just a little bit, which would be okay if they could both be secured to the trailer in some way. Right On does make wider crossbars that would fit both without a doubt.

    How do you strap the kayaks to the trailer? I just bought one of these trailers and I'm looking for ideas to prevent the straps from slipping side to side on the bars.

    Do you think this would work for a 14 foot canoe with a transom and outboard? I’m working on restoring a 14 foot sportspal transom canoe and I’m looking for a trailer since my outboard is 4 stroke.

    • @RivermanTV-
      @RivermanTV-  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it would work but there would definitely be a portion of the canoe hanging over the rear. My 12 foot kayak fits without issue and I think something longer would too. You will probably have to safely situate it as closely to the rear of the car as you can to minimize it hanging off the back.

    Crazy what a year has done to that price but it's still a lot less then the others.

    • @RivermanTV-
      @RivermanTV-  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say the increase is worth it given the changes they've made for the newer models of the trailer.

      The crossbars on this are 64" wide so it should fit. You may have to get creative with how it is secured.

      Sorry - this comment didn't show up for me. Glad you found the link. The part comes as two pieces and I ended up only using the rubber portion. You do have to work a bit to get it on so that the bolt passes through again but definitely worth it!

    Hopefully you see this I know this is an older video but do you still recommend this trailer for 2023/24 and also the Damping Mount? I plan on buying this trailer.

    • @RivermanTV-
      @RivermanTV-  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would still recommend it. Mine has seen a lot of miles over the last couple years and I've had no issues other than needing to repaint and rust proof. If I were going to do it all again, I'd probably get the next level up (the Ruff Sport) because of the galvanized construction and bigger wheels, but this trailer certainly still does the job well. It's super light and easy to store because of its smaller size.

    • @reptarkenny

      @@RivermanTV- do you have the 2023 version or do you have the older one because I see online that New for 2023! Improved corrosion resistance through new powder coat process. Wonder if that fix the issue you had.

    • @RivermanTV-
      @RivermanTV-  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@reptarkenny I have the older model. The powder coat sounds like it would help. Either way, repainting and rust proofing really isn't a big job if it becomes necessary.

    PLEASE HELP!! These dampeners you spoke of… I ordered the ones from your link but I can’t figure out how to install them on the trailer. They don’t line up with the leaf spring mount bolt holes. Where/how do I use them?

    • @RivermanTV-
      @RivermanTV-  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If I remember correctly, I removed the rubber portion and was able to slide it over the bolt with quite a bit of effort. It's been a long time, my apologies. I will take a look at the assembly tomorrow and comment back.

    • @davelsnell
      @davelsnell หลายเดือนก่อน

      Awesome!! Thank you so much! You’re the man! So you may find this interesting… I plan on adding a box rack to the kayak. I’ll be using a truck bed box rack that will be slightly modified for better sizing. This way I can put one kayak on top of the other and have room on the sides for storage.

      It's not advisable with the stock lights but I've done it up to a certain point where the lights weren't completely submerged. I'd recommend getting waterproof LEDs for the rear and installing those right off the bat
