Thanks John, great content as usual. I know all about cold machines! My casino has 2 $5 coin VP machines, they are 7/5 BP. I went over 3000 hands without a 4OAK on one of these machines playing $5 BP. I kept thinking it was going to turn around and warm up. It never happened. This was the farthest out on statistical probability I have ever experienced. I did hit a straight flush early on for $1250 hand pay. Sometimes it's best to just walk away and live to fight another day! The next weekend I got quad aces twice and several 2,3,4 quads which made up for that statistical anomaly.
Yes, I certainly get it when the machines turn cold. That 3,000+ hands, (without a Quad) must have been quite frustrating & unbearable! I agree, sometimes it's better to just walk and come back another day. If I'm not feeling it, I just try to snag a $100 or $200 off the machine and head on out. By the same token, when the machines are on a wild-tear just spitting out Quads right & left, it sure can make up for those dry spells. Good info. Keep up the great work!

Greetings from Torrance! Hope you and your family have been doing well. This is one nail biting session. The two pairs are definitely your best friend. I do have a feeling that this isn't over by a long shot! Can't wait to get out to Pala. I have been working massive overtime with people going out sick. Been too busy, but saving up my overtime for one big session before the end of the year. Hopefully I can call you again screaming "I hit another Royal!!" Thanks again sir!
Hi Paul. Great to hear from you. All the overtime probably makes you exhausted. Let me know when you'll make it out this way to see if we can rendevous before year end. Best holiday wishes to you, your family, and Mom. Take care!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Hi John! Happy Holidays!!! Excellent session showing the reality of playing video poker and how to tottle up and down, switching between BP and JoB to maintain our bankroll. Hope you will hit another Jackpot soon!!!
Hi Debbie. Happy Holidays to you too. You really got going out to Vegas a lot this year. So much fun seeing you & Becky on TH-cam having a blast! Take care.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
How much of a bankroll do you recommend for $5 denomination? I usually go with 1k and it seems to last a good while if the machine is hitting. Also, do you ever switch machines if you sense it’s not doing well at a particular session? Thanks 😊
A $1,000 bankroll can be consumed rather quickly on the $5 coin denomination, if the machine isn’t knocking out the 2 pair hand or JoB hands, right and left. $2,000 would be a lot safer and a $5,000 bankroll would provide a much better margin of bankroll protection on the $5 coin denomination. That being said, I typically start on the $2 coin denomination with a $500-$1,000 bankroll hoping to hit a $250, $400, or $800 Quad on 8/5 Bonus Poker. If that happens, I move-up to the $5 coin denomination using that house-money bankroll to hopefully hit those same Quads for $625, $1,000, & $2,000 on the $5 coin denomination. Then that house-money can be used to possibly hit a $20,000 Royal. And, Yes, if a machine isn’t hitting anything at all, by all means get off of it (sooner than later) and go to another machine. It’s all random anyway, so there’s nothing lost by switching machines or the games themselves. You may just run into a machine or game that’s rolling like crazy. If you land on a machine that is rolling (i.e. hitting everything from JoB’s, 2-pairs, trips, straights, flushes, and full houses with barely any misses in between) then, I never leave the machine, as long as it’s rolling, even if it rolls for 8-12 hours straight. I stick with it until the rolling stops or it hits a Royal Flush. That’s why you need a machine with a very wide “spread” of coin denominations ($1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $25, $50 all on 1 machine…Palms, Red Rock, Pala, etc.) in order to keep scaling-up with house-money. In doing so, you may just hit a life changing, $80,000, $100,000, or $200,000 Royal Flush off of very little money of your own by using a lot of house-money to scale-up across the denominations. That is the “game within the game”. That is to say, scaling across the denominations (on house-money) to hit big-time Royals.😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
@@johnsworldofvideopoker thank you for this thorough response! I’ve hit my first Royal on Jacks or better and you were my inspiration for playing and staying committed. Thank you and I hope you the best on your future sessions!
You’re welcome. I know you’ll do well, and hit even more Royals in the future. When playing 8/5 Bonus Poker, please examine the pay table thoroughly. It MUST have the following payouts: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 40, 125, 200, 400, 250, & 4,000 coins. Anything that deviates from this exact pay table is a scam. (Except a 7/5 pay table which only differs on the full house hand). That is a “medium-pay” pay table and it can also be exploited, although the 8/5 BP pay table is the ideal one to be played on. Thank you for your comments and viewership.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

Nice to see you back John......It was tough session, but, I know you'll get it back🤑🤑🤑🤑Heading back to Red Rock next week, let's see how DDB treats us. Here's wishing you & your family a Happy & Safe Holiday Season🌲🌲🎀🎀
Yes, the machine was definitely not rolling along on this part of the session. Hopefully, some good hits are coming my way. When I go bankroll building off-camera is when everything under the sun seems to hit. The challenge is that not all casinos allow filming, so I don't get to film everywhere I go. I'm sure the tide will turn though. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
@user-Vegas1 Thank you, Tony. That ended up being a tougher session, as you’ll see in the next video, as well. Fortunately, these losses are subsidized and off-set by “off-camera” sessions that I use for bankroll building in between filmed episodes. I hope to hit some more Royals on camera though. Happy Holidays to you & your family, Tony. You’re the Best!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Hi Alan. My general rule for long “bankroll-building” sessions is 1,000 coins on whatever denomination you’re playing. So for 25¢ denominations you’d start with 1,000 25¢ coins or $250, $500 for 50¢ coin denom, $1,000 for $1 coin denom, $2,000 on the $2 coin denom, and $5,000 on the $5 coin denom. That’s usually enough coinage to fade the variance of the low volatility games such as 9/6 JoB or 8/5 BP or NSUDW. All the other games have higher volatility and would require 2X-3X more to fade their variance. This is just a minimum starting point (for bankroll building sessions). So starting with $500 on a $5 coin denomination is woefully underfunded to fade that sort of action. However, I’ve tried it here and there in the past and have walked away with 4 $20,000 Royals in doing so off of just a $500 starting bankroll. That’s just “the right machine” (that happens to be rolling) at the “right time”. It’s better to start with $1,000 on a $1 coin denomination, and when Quads are hit, use that house-money to switch to the $2 coin denomination. If Quads are hit again on the $2 coin denomination, then switch to the $5 coin denomination using that house-money. I try to play higher coin denominations on house-money whenever possible. That way, it minimizes your losses, but maximizes your wins, (especially if you hit a Royal on a high denomination)! Happy Holidays to you.😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
You’ll notice when you change games that the cards showing are the last hand that was played on that game. Each game has their own deck of 52 cards independently of all the others. I don’t know if each game has its own random number generator (RNG), but I suspect that they do because when I switch games, I notice that a game that is “rolling” along quite nicely, isn’t rolling along on the next game, or the next game, could be rolling along even better than the game that was switched from. Nonetheless, since all the games are all totally random, the probabilities of the different games remain the same. Thank you for your comments. Happy Holidays.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
