I found all your videos very helpful (all the ones I saw so far). I have a human reactive Romanian rescue and we have been working for so long to break her reactivity with no success. I have started recently E-Collar training and the videos are really helpful (I definitely have been doing some things wrong) and the videos really make it clear as to where is a good start so we have gone back to basics (without the collar). I believe we will succeed because she is the most beautiful and sweet dog and I just want her to be happy and enjoy life and know hat 'mummy' has got her back and she doesn't need to protect me.
Not all dog trainers are alike in their training methods...this guy, however, is so easy to understand. I was lucky, I adopted a 4 year old German Shepherd who was already trained and a perfect gentleman. Well, almost. He just couldn't help himself around food that became unguarded for a minute. Turn your back to grab your phone - food, gone! So, I'm anxious to try the Stop Your Dog From Stealing Food. I'll post later to let you know how it worked with Max. Kudos to this dog trainer. He's the best I've seen.
This is a great video. Thank you. Worked really well with my compliant dog the first time. Do you have a video on heeling a small dog that charges ahead all the time? I have to tug the leash every two seconds and it causes him to cough and gag. Also looking for help for getting barking under control. The compliant dog will spook bark at nothing, riling up the reactive small dog. Thanks again. I love your videos and how you train.
If your pup is coughing and gagging I would probably move to a new collar. Here is a video showing how to acclimate a dog to a training collar and stop leash pulling. th-cam.com/video/DdeHrc4pCmA/w-d-xo.html If your dog is barking because it is spooked, I would use the heel command as a calming technique to show them there is no issue and to get them back to a calm state of mind. This works the best when you intentionally set up situations that will create the barking and work continuously until the dog can ignore the distraction. Thanks for taking the time to drop a comment!!!
@@SuburbanK9DogTraining Thank you for the quick reply! We’ve been using a slip collar on both. Unfortunately, the spook barking occurs in the middle of the night.
You can absolutely transition away from a prong once your dog has stopped pulling on leash. We generally recommend roughly 6 months of good behavior before making the switch away from the prong, but it really depends on the dog. If you get one, make sure to get a Herm Sprenger. They are so much better than the other brands. We have a video on sizing them as well as a video on how to operate them. Both of those videos have links to the collars if you decide to buy one. There are a lot of counterfeit collars out there so be careful!
I’m in love with Bruce ❤ I’m looking at the space behind you guys and how my boy would be in heaven given a chance to let some built up energy go…lol. Love this video. Thank you Liliana Caprano for sharing with us 😊 She is the reason my boy Ace and I have the relationship we have today ❤
The dog in the video is on a prong collar. We also use a lot of martingale collars like this one here. amzn.to/49YonW5 They allow you to catch the dogs attention when needed much better than a typical cloth collar. What age and breed is your dog?
We have trainers located across the country and would love to help! The trainer in this video is in Nashville (and used to have a Scott type American Bulldog) but we have trainers in 18 other locations as well. Where are you located?
We have a lot of trainers in Illinois in the northern part of the state. If you live anywhere near the Chicago we can certainly help! If you go the www.suburban-k9.com you can get an instant price quote!

Thanks for the kind words Jim! Let us know how it goes with the food stealing issue.
Bruce is adorable! This video is super helpful; thank you for posting!
Bruce is pretty cute, right? Rotts sometimes get a bad reputation, but many of them are super sweet easy to train dogs like Bruce.

@@SuburbanK9DogTraining Once you switch to a prong collar, might it be possible to fade it out to another collar later?
