  • In this video I discuss deadlifting bars, particularly the Texas deadlift bar and the pros and cons vs typical bars found in local gyms. Is it worth it to train with a deadlift bar?

Hopefully this doesn't sound like a dumb comment/question. Isn't the DL bar kind of "cheating" by flexing a bit so that you can rise to a slightly more advantages position? Wouldn't a stiffer bar at he expense of a higher DL help you squeeze more strength benefits by ensuring you lift the full weight at the beginning of the rep?

Not a dumb question at all, the problem with the stiff bars and having all that resistance at the beginning is that you are in the most vulnerable position at the beginning in turns of injuries, all the world deadlift records are set using a deadlift bar( including Eddie halls 500KG which was done on the same Texas deadlift bar as the one I have in this video, only his was not black zinc, I think it was just the bare steel version)

Plz help man lol, on my 2001 gmc sonoma rear wheel drive. I'm doing front brake pads and can't find where the abundant clips go at all

Around the 12:15 -12:20mark it shows the assembly, there is a spot in the spindle that the clip goes through, make sure the bearings washer and nut are all on the spindle first.

From my experience if you put at least 4 45’s bumper plates you’ll get decent bar bend but if you can’t pull at least 5 plates or one may argue 6 plates you won’t be able to get the full benefits of a deadlift bar.

i’m 600lb deadlifter and you can definitely feel a boost on 4 plates. especially if you master the concept of pulling the slack. My girl can pull 3 plates on texas deadlift bar but can’t on a power bar. it’s more of technique thing than a black and white type of thing.

@@jcasillo98 man I wish I could get my hands on a Texas deadlift bar, currently have to go to a commercial gym due to budget reasons. The only deadlift bar I have available is a Ohio DL bar, pulled 585lbs 2 days ago with it. Felt great but I bet a Texas bar feels better right?

No offense but definitely horrible form because the barbell is not going against your legs

You can literally see the sweatpants moving as the bar slides up the legs lol but 👍

@@rickysreviewsandhowtos well I guess I just am blind and not seeing what your eyes are seeing so if you see that then keep doing what you're doing and let's hope that works for you. But I'll tell you this you sometimes will not get better if you can't handle constructive criticism. But honestly I don't really give care and I'm just reviewing different deadlift barbell

@@victorGarcia-cw8mq I don’t have a problem with constructive criticism when it’s needed, I intentionally deadlift with guys that lift much heavier weights than I do for that purpose, your criticism was the bar was not against my legs and I can tell you it is, this review however was on the bars, not on proper deadlift form. Thank you for your opinion and take care.

@@rickysreviewsandhowtos brother you don't have to explain anything to me however it sounds like you know what you're doing and definitely did not mean to hurt your feelings so keep doing whatever it is you are doing and I appreciate you doing a video on this barbell
